People have been too pre-occupied with moaning about the moaners to Re-assess that Cortese may well have been taking a harder and more ambitious line since making the '5 year plan' statement at the beginning of the season. It has been quite obvious to some that he has progressively become more overtly aggresive and ambitious in his goals over the last few months. I wonder what the 'ruthless' mr cortese will do next? P.s. And I wonder why Coppell has never taken up another post at another club since being linked with Saints earlier in the season...

Blimey, first time I've been accused of being sensible...this is going to shoot my clown like reputation to pieces!

As a few others have pointed out, there's a difference between being asked not to publish somthing that's already in the public domain but politely declining (that's a newspaper's perogative) versus being asked to hold fire, AGREEING TO DO SO, but then changing their minds. This dispute has the hallmarks of the latter scenario rather than the former, in which case I believe Cortese had every right to give the paper a taste of their own medicine BUT if it was the former (I.e. A straight forward decline to comply with 'orders') then I believe Cortese has over reacted. A subtle but significant different that seems to have passed most people by. Oh, and it's good to see the return of so many plants after the drought of the last 12 months... ;-)

Just this season or every season? I.e. If we were to hypothetically and coincidently draw our neighbours in the cup every year from here on in when would 'reaching the playoffs' beat 'victory against pompey' in the great footballing edition of top trumps?

There's a simple solution to that...incentivise the would be 'migrators' to stay in the northam 'kop end' by offering cut price beer on that concourse. That would have the added benefit of attracting more people to the northam thus creating the wall of sound people are after. Easy.

Anyone know what Cortese's business successes were before taking over the helm at SFC? I.e. What companies he was with and what positions he held? All I know is that he was ML's financial advisor in some capacity or other. Genuinely interested out of pure curiosity.
