  8. I'd been feeling calm and pragmatic up until 5 minutes ago. Now I feel as nervous and sick as ****! Maybe one day I'll listen to my other self when they tell me this football malarkey is only a game and that relegation isn't the end of the world... Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
  9. Whilst I agree to a certain degree, surely there has to be some means testing in there somewhere? This latest football club playing at Fratton Park supposedly have an owner with a few bob in the bank...

  11. They have a free booking cancellation policy up to 24 hours before arrival. Would be a shame if the Southampton fan base block booked a load of rooms for the foreseeable future and cancelled them at the last minute.... Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
  12. Or reserve a load of rooms for the foreseeable future and cancel each one just before the free cancellation period ends...
  13. Ok, you win...
  14. Relegation could well turn out to be a "disaster" but it could also be a chance to flush out the dead wood and rejuvenate again. And, no, this shouldn't be interpreted as me hoping for relegation, I just have a pragmatic outlook on life and sometimes a 'one step back, two steps forward' event *can* lead to a better long term outcome than stagnating on the same spot. But, yes, I accept it could equally be a long term disaster...
  15. Doesn't that assume we would have spent said TV money wisely?
  16. I'm rather hoping we go straight down to league 1 so we can repeat the 2010 - 2017 'disaster' years
  17. We'll beat Swansea 1-0... But we'll then lose heavily against Man City and Swansea will tonk Stoke and go above us by a goal difference of 1... with Huddersfield also picking up a point to stay up...
  18. Given how our season has gone, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this is exactly what happens! Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk

  20. A (tinpot) football club sponsored by a university? Well, that's one way of spending student's fees I suppose. Beats robbing from charities anyway. Seems to have gone down well in social media land....
  21. As did his referendum buddy Darling... https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/jun/14/osborne-predicts-30bn-hole-in-public-finance-if-uk-votes-to-leave-eu
