  1. Or.... #pragmatism klaxon# ....it could be for a completely rational non-bizarre reason.
  2. Yes, but they only let me out to see my therapist on Tuesdays which, quite frankly, is far too little for my needs.
  3. Don't get me wrong, I can be as emotionally irrational as the next man (or lady) when it comes to supporting my football team. But that's more about what goes on on the pitch rather than in the boardroom. I support the club, not whoever happens to be the current manager. (That doesn't mean I don't 'support' the current manager when they are here in the narrower sense of the word, before you leap on that statement... ) Yes, of course, who the manager is has an impact on what happens on the field, but managers (and players) will always be transient so I tend not to waste too much emotional energy if/when they leave. I much prefer to save my irrationality for match days
  4. Gutted? No, not in the slightest. I felt the same when Adkins and Pochettino left. My excitement about who we get next always outweighs any disappointment at losing the incumbent manager. Maybe that's because I try not to take life too seriously, who knows. Its only a game, after all.
  5. I'll be equally happy if Koeman stays or goes. Given no-one knows how things will pan out either way (jumping to conclusions aside of course) its impossible to judge what the 'best' outcome is before it happens. How do we know we won't get a 'lame duck' season if Koeman sees out his contract here? Equally, how do we know he won't take us into the top 4 because its his last season and he wants to go out on a high? There's no point "automatically assuming" any outcome IMO.
  6. Indeed. Being a pessimist is a much safer tactic. If the prophecies of doom come true then the "I told you so" card can be played, whereas if it doesn't come to pass then the "I'm glad I was proven wrong" card can be played. Win win. Adopting an optimistic persona on the interweb is a far riskier strategy.
  7. Do those fans that "automatically assume" that it'll work out better if Koeman stays also pee you off?
  8. How many times do you reckon the limit is? 4? 5? 10? I think there's still a few rolls of the dice left but wouldn't like to put an arbitrary figure on when the personnel churn will stop working in our favour.
  9. Why would anyone think that we'd be cream crackered if Koeman leaves?
  10. This
  11. #beyondparody
  12. That's made my day that has! Cheers[emoji38]
  13. Bit of a misleading headline isn't it? Its never been a case of not being able to "afford" to keep our best players whilst still under contract, its more that we've reluctantly let them go because they made it clear they didn't want to play for Saints anymore. We didn't have to sell any of them for financial reasons, did we? (I haven't read the full article yet, just commenting on the headline)
  14. I've heard that the thing that excites trolls most is the number of times that people comment on how many times others have bitten...
  15. Now watch him go and score the winning penalty vs England in the semi-final...
  16. Anyone else struggling to get a result from Google Translate on this one?
  17. Not quite, but he'll eat his hat if Cook doesn't get them promoted (although he rather craftily didn't put a timescale on it, although he did call it "one last hurrah"...) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/32756238
  18. ‘We represent Portsmouth Football Club and must show a bit of class.’ [emoji38] Carlsberg don't do lack of self awareness, but if they did... #catlintheclown #tinpot
  19. No. The end is nigh.
  20. Millwall fans in acting like arseholes shocker
  21. Gooooooooaaaaallllllll
  22. Its OK... I've smoothed things over.... She liked my reply too....
  23. Yeah, great idea that. He's right, getting players fit before the start of the season is a much over-rated concept. Carlsberg don't do tinpottery, but if they did....
