  1. Bristol aren't really a threat, they won't be near 6th by the end of the season. It is two out of Huddersfield, Colchester, Saints and Charlton for 5th and 6th place imo
  2. If Leeds and Saints don't go up, Saints will still be favourites to win the League next year.
  3. Actually turning out to be quite a good day of results.
  4. Yes!!! 90th minute goal Wycombe 1-1 Colchester
  5. Yep, but Huddersfield could just end up being the team that replace them. A draw is probably the best result in that game as it keeps them both catchable.
  6. Yes, 6th place is the one Saints are aiming for but all the teams currently in the playoffs are very close on points and you don't know which will drop out so worth keeping an eye on all of them.
  7. Would be good to see this... Brentford v Leyton Orient N/A Brighton v Tranmere N/A Bristol Rovers v Southend - SOUTHEND WIN or DRAW Colchester v Wycombe - WYCOMBE WIN or DRAW Exeter v Walsall N/A Gillingham v MK Dons - GILLINGHAM WIN or DRAW Hartlepool v Swindon - HARTLEPOOL WIN or DRAW Huddersfield v Charlton - DRAW (a Charlton win if not) Millwall v Stockport - STOCKPORT WIN or DRAW Norwich v Leeds United - NORWICH WIN or DRAW
  8. Don't mock it, you'll most likely be in it in 2011/12!
  9. Which rules out O'Hara as he signed in January.
  10. O'Hara isn't on a long term loan. He signed in January.
  11. http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/FACompetitions/TheFACup/Rules The Mirror have made the story up!
  12. You have confused the FA with the Premier League like many do. They are two different governing bodies.
  13. Because Saints had a bye. You can't have a cup competition with 48 teams (24 League One and 24 League Two) and not have teams getting byes. 48 teams - 24 teams - 12 teams - 6 teams - 3 teams in the final just doesn't work!
  14. If this is true real questions need to be asked.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1260734/Portsmouth-offered-250-000-Spartak-Moscow-terminate-Quincy-Owusu-Abeyies-loan.html?ITO=1490 This ties in with Spartak offering £250k to get him back from loan. Pompey have paid the £500k and have a deal to keep him for the season. The £250k is their compensation for the loss of a player that they paid £500k to loan for X weeks. The transfer embargo was only lifted for the last few days of January for loan or free transfers in order to stop large amounts of debt being added to an already large amount. What is the point in saying we are only lifting it but you can only do frees and loans if they pay a £500,000 loan fee? Two weeks after signing Tosic, Rocha and Quincy and paying their wages, Pompey ask for dispensation to sell players and make 85 staff redundant!
  15. A story in the Times a few days ago which was posted in this thread where Mr Andronikou is accused of vote rigging an insolvency agreement so they get the 75% needed. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/portsmouth/article7069905.ece With the news today that he now claims the debt is £100m and not the £78m of the Statement of Affairs by Vantis it raises the question is he up to his old tricks again?
  16. Pitches are only cut up at kick off if there have been games on it. Wembley was re-turfed at the beginning of the month and hasn't been used since.
  17. What are you basing that on? For example it was a Pardew tactic on Tuesday to play Papa behind Lambert and Barnard. When that didn't work Papa went out wide and stayed wide. It isn't Papa that goes inside it is the tactics Pardew tells him.
  18. As a sub maybe, I doubt he'd be in the starting 11 ahead of Waigo or Connolly.
  19. Well he "apparently" played a lot of games in the Championship last season, could have used one of them!
  20. If Pompey sign a player on loan and there isn't a recall clause then he is theirs until the loan expires. He can only go back if Pompey agree and that is unlikely unless they receive compensation.
  21. Which suggests in January Pompey possibly paid Spartak Moscow more than £250k as a loan fee even though the transfer embargo was lifted to only allow frees and loans and not any fees. Makes a mockery of it.
  22. Nothing like some massive generalisations to stir up debate!
  23. Eric Idle is from South Shields in Northumbria.
