1. Well I'm happy to pay £12. Also is good for families with accompanied children under 14 getting in for FREE.
2. And how do they cover costs if they do that?
3. It is Saints related... Cheer on Morgan! http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2052209,00.html Every game is being shown on British Eurosport and I will probably be watching the French games as Morgan Schneiderlin is the only player in the French squad that is not based in France. Lets hope he plays. The 2010 Toulon Tournament will be begin on 18th May and is schedule to end on 27th May 2010. It is an invitational tournament for Under 21 national teams (since 1974). A lot of big name players have played in this over the years and this year has teams from four continents. 2010 Groups Group A France Columbia Ivory Coast Japan Group B Chile Qatar Russia Denmark Fixture & TV Schedule Tue 18 May 16:45 TBC Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (16:45-18:30) Tue 18 May 18:55 France v Colombia Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (18:55-20:45) Wed 19 May 16:30 Chile v Qatar Toulon Tournament British Eurosport (16:30-18:15) Wed 19 May 18:40 Denmark v Russia Toulon Tournament British Eurosport (18:40-20:30) Thu 20 May 16:30 Colombia v Ivory Coast Toulon Tournament British Eurosport (16:30-18:30) Thu 20 May 19:00 The group stages Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (19:00-20:45) Fri 21 May 16:30 Denmark v Qatar Toulon Tournament British Eurosport (16:30-18:30) Sat 22 May 16:45 Ivory Coast v France Toulon Tournament British Eurosport (16:45-18:45) Sat 22 May 16:45 The group stages Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (16:45-18:30) Sun 23 May 18:00 Qatar v Russia Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (18:00-19:00) Tue 25 May 17:30 Semi-Finals Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (17:30-19:15) Tue 25 May 20:00 Semi-Finals Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (20:00-21:45) Thu 27 May 20:00 Final Toulon Tournament British Eurosport 2 (20:00-21:45) History Year Winner 1967 Anderlecht 1974 Poland 1975 Argentina 1976 Bulgaria 1977 France 1978 Hungary 1979 Soviet Union 1980 Brazil 1981 Brazil 1982 Yugoslavia 1983 Brazil 1984 France 1985 France 1986 Bulgaria 1987 France 1988 France 1989 France 1990 England 1991 England 1992 Portugal 1993 England 1994 England 1995 Brazil 1996 Brazil 1997 France 1998 Argentina 1999 Colombia 2000 Colombia 2001 Portugal 2002 Brazil 2003 Portugal 2004 France 2005 France 2006 France 2007 France 2008 Italy 2009 Chile
4. But there was never ANY evidence in the public domain that Cortese was even considering sacking Pardew this summer. All the local people, forum, radio phone-in, national newspaper, local newspaper, Southampton legends etc you mention were supporting Pardew against unsubstantiated media rumours without quotes or sources. A snowball effect then ensued and it seems you were one of the many swept up in it! Basically Stu, you are Daily Mail fodder!
5. Gecko, Can you do a version with blue waves and a green tree and wreath to compare? They look a little odd in gold (especially the tree and waves, not so much the wreath).
6. The same moans every year. Pretty much every friendly at St Mary's has been around that price. For those complaining about the rise on matchday to £15, just buy a ticket before the day for £12. The rise on the day is for a number of reasons which shouldn't take a genius to work out what they are.
7. The media speculation was completely unfounded and lacking in quotes and sources. I don't think Cortese is the type of man that makes business decisions based on the whims of a few vocal people. If he was going to sack Pardew he would and moved on with the business strategy.
8. I like your work. Keep sending them stuff until they give in. Did you send them the badge above? What was their reply?
9. It is going to be £400 out of your account either way. It is not hard to manage you finances to keep this expenditure in mind, be it in one lump sum or installments over the next 6 months.
10. Everyone knows it will be roughly £400. Just put it aside. It's not hard.
11. Sum that up in a Venn diagram like he asked.
12. Ajax friendly was 18th July so relatively early and 3 weeks before first league game on August 8th against Millwall. Played Hearts (25th July) and QPR (1st August) afterwards in friendlies.
13. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2053953,00.html Should be fun. Doesn't say it is the Ted Bates Trophy match, so hopefully a big Premiership team or European club will still be coming to St Mary's to start the 125th year celebrations.
14. Socks in photograph of 1885 team aren't white and probably black or red.
15. It is three days old and was the main story about Saints in the Southampton section of the BBC website. You can be pretty confident that stories like that find their way onto here in minutes, rather than three days. (He is a central midfielder not a defender btw)
16. Anyone that thinks Beattie would come to League One to be backup to Rickie Lambert is clearly insane!
17. Have you not seen how empty corporate has been for the last 5 years since the club left the Premiership? Of course they won't do any of what you suggest. As for corporate in the Kingsland, it is miles from any of the facilities required and would require a walk to the Itchen.
18. They were likely waiting for the summer to minimise impact to training and based on that quote I guess they will start soon. Videos of training on Saints Player show nothing had been done it terms of removing the existing buildings by the end of the season.
19. Beers + Fags = Lung and liver disease and premature death (and others passively inhaling) FACT
20. How do you know they aren't?
21. Pardew joins Saints 17th July 2009 22 days later.... First game of the season versus Millwall 8th August 2009 and Pardew was very much in charge and had by that point signed Dan Harding and also been in charge of friendlies against Hearts and QPR. I think you are confusing the Millwall game with the Ajax friendly on the 18th July (day after Pardew took charge) that Henderson was in charge. 22 days is of course not anywhere near a full preseason and is why I put Wotte/Pardew Summer 09.
22. And I was saying after Seaborne, Fonte and Martin signed Perry was only was needed for cup games due to players being cup tied. Next season Fonte and Seaborne won't be cup tied and you have Jaidi and Martin as well. How often do you think 5th and 6th choice centre backs play? You are setting your sights too low alpine. Saints only intend to be in this league one more year and Perry isn't good enough to play in the Championship in 2011/12 and are looking for players that can progress with them upwards through the leagues.
23. Since Ian Branfoot left 16 years ago in 1994, Saints have only had four occasions where the same manager has been in charge for consecutive pre seasons. Alan Ball - Summer 94 Dave Merrington - Summer 95 Graeme Souness - Summer 96 Dave Jones - Summer 97 One Summer 98 Two Summer 99 (Jones left in Jan 00) Glenn Hoddle - Summer 00 Stuart Gray - Summer 01 Gordon Strachan - Summer 02 Three Summer 03 (Strachan left in Feb 04) Steve Wigley - No pre seasons Paul Sturrock - Summer 04 Steve Wigley - No pre seasons Harry Redknapp - Summer 05 George Burley - Summer 06 Four Summer 07 (Burley left in Jan 07) John Gorman - No pre seasons Nigel Pearson - No pre seasons Jan Poortvliet - Summer 08 Mark Wotte/Alan Pardew - Summer 09 Five Summer 10 In all that time Man Utd have had one manager with 15 consecutive pre seasons and you could even take it back to 1986. Quite a telling record. Pardew only had 4 weeks of pre Season for the 09/10 season but as he now has the whole summer 2010, some stability is coming that has been lacking in the last 16 years
24. No, of course not! Why do you think it would?
25. ummm.... Chris Perry didn't play a league game in 2010! The only games he played in were cup games when Seaborne and Fonte were cup tied. Seaborne and Fonte won't be cup tied next season. Wayne Thomas played in only 5 League games in 2010 (4 since Fonte and Seaborne signed). These games at right back due to injuries to Murty & Otsemobor and were when Aaron Martin went to Salisbury on loan. Maybe Pardew doesn't plan to loan Martin again.
