I don't think it is feasible that Saints would spend £11m on a player to then loan him out straight away. He played 30 out of 38 La Liga games last season for the team with the 7th best defensive record in the league. He doesn't need a loan.

€8m from Fulham and say €2m from the loan last season = €10m for a player we don't want and managed to get 46 games out of. Sure it is a loss on what Saints paid for him, but it isn't pocket change.

How? If he didn't get a work permit Saints wouldn't have to complete the deal.

There is a difference between the actions of a Swansea hotel and the actions of the football club. They aren't one and the same.

If he wasn't able to get a work permit they could decide not to go ahead with the deal.
