Stoke also left circa 2,200 empty seats in the away end. Had Stoke filled the away end the attendances would have been over 30k and Pompey fans wouldn't have even noticed. The article also overlooks Saints fans had to pay between £32 and £44 for a tickets vs Stoke City, compare that to Fratton Park this season. Is 27k home fans for a game vs Stoke at those prices really something to be mocked? Especially when Pompey couldn't sellout a 21k stadium in the two Premier League games they had at Fratton Park vs. Stoke.

Then you are a fool and/or windup merchant as has been said on a number of occasions when you bring this tripe up time after time after time after time after time after time. The team in 18th place has 23 points from 25 games, only 13 games remain. It would take a remarkable shift in form from the leagues bottom half teams and a downturn from the top half teams in order for the teams from 10th to 18th (or 19th and 20th) to get 40 points and leave Saints relegated. We are safe already ffs!

Why on earth would Saints want to buy a 31 year old central midfielder like Steve Sidwell in the summer? We already have Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse, Cork, Wanyama, Reed, Davis and even Ramirez to play in central midfield. Apart from Davis, they are all 24 or under and have promising futures. The same can't be said of Sidwell.

Tom Coull@Tom_SFCMedia Blizzard like conditions in Hull this morning. Snow is hammering it down.
-
A few people have said this, but seem unaware we didn't hear about him for a while because he was injured.
-
Tottenham signed Gareth Bale from a Championship club and Arsenal signed Walcott and Chamberlain from a Championship club, to make a sweeping statement that no Championship player will be good enough is daft. Lallana, Cork, Lambert, Schneiderlin, Clyne, Rodriguez etc all made the step up well.
-
Why? When we have two very good right backs who are both younger than Trippier.

His initials are TS.

But it also says...

Looks like it'll be Clyne and Cork starting on Saturday... Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC 46s Pochettino says @CalumChambers95 suffered a dead leg last weekend, while @VictorWanyama also took a knock. #saintsfc

I think Isgrove is more likely to be used as an attacking option on the bench, as he trains with the first team.
-
It gives more meaning to this photo. On the day it looked like a manager congratulating a youngster he gave full debut, now we know there was a lot more going on... Make his performances in the 1st team even more impressive given the circumstances.
-
Its not one of the players. Its one of the backroom staff monitoring the progress of the three injured players, can't remember his name of the top of my head.

Gastón Ramírez @gasramirez10 2m Primer día en la cancha con @DejanLovren05 @Mattytargett muy contentos! First day on the pitch. We are very happy
-
Why do you think that? They are terrible away from home...
-
Why would you think it wasn't? It was posted today (the day they film training before a match to go with the press conference footage) and comes with the description... Southampton FC VINE: A wet morning at the #SaintsFC training ground, but @DejanLovren05, @gasramirez10 and @Mattytargett don't seem to mind!
-
Well it does for me.

Lovren and Ramirez doing ball work this morning...

Mauricio Pochettino is now the 8th longest serving Premier League manager!

Chico Flores now has to take orders from Gary Monk. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jan/21/swansea-police-row-monk-flores

I think this is the key part of the Swansea statement... He looked like he was going to leave in the summer, his heart wasn't in it anymore and that was possibly affecting team performances which haven't been good lately. They've been on the slide ever since the League Cup win.
