  1. But when the person with the rumour has given us clues, what is the point in suggesting names that don't match those clues? Might as well say Messi.
  2. Where has he been "linked several times"?
  3. Unlikely signing him would meet this criteria...
  4. Not in my opinion at all. We were discussing Pilchards rumour, he said that it was a player that has "we have been linked with him several times" and we have not been linked in the press with Lamela, Torres or Benteke several times. So I was right to say those names don't meet Pilchards criteria. Pilchards said the following...
  5. None of those meet the criteria laid out by Pilchards.
  6. We've strayed from Wanyama onto a player Pilchards says is currently looking around St Mary's that would "smash our transfer record by double". Given the clues, Pilchards can only really be talking about Leandro Damiao if true...
  7. Yep, he is the only player we've been liked with that would cost that much and Pilchards says its a player we've been linked with. Osvaldo would be cheaper and Banega would be a lot cheaper.
  8. Pilchards said it would "smash our transfer record by double". Banega wouldn't cost £24m.
  9. Simon Peach said "Pochettino & Co unimpressed by Norway defender".
  10. Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 4m Just six months after joining #SaintsFC, Vegard Forren is returning to former club Molde. Pochettino & Co unimpressed by Norway defender. Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 4m I am told #SaintsFC will not not lose much money on the Forren deal. Official announcement expected soon, along with another departure.
  11. Pochettino has confirmed interest in Osvaldo and Damiao, but I haven't seen any mention of Saints being linked to Lamela anywhere other than randoms on Twitter.
  12. It isn't unreasonable someone would want to join a Champions League team in a big European League over Saints. If he did sign, would that not then suggest he did want to join?
  13. I doubt Southampton paid that £4m upfront and as he was only here for 7 months and didn't play a game he wouldn't have racked up much in the way of clauses. So Saints may have only paid one payment out of lets say 3 years of payments. Molde in return may be buying him back for a fee equal to that first payment. Still an odd transfer regardless of how much of a loss or not was made on him.
  14. You'd think it would be on here, but isn't... http://www.lff.lv/en/news/
  15. Aberdeen striker Hicham Zerouali adopted the number zero on account of it sounding a bit like his last name.
  16. Yes...
  17. I meant to add "in the Premier League".
  18. John Hartson has never played at St Mary's in the Premier League = Dell sized mentality
  19. They made the last 16 of the Champions League last season. Not many "PL relegation fodder" teams would manage that. Give them access to Premier League TV money, sponsorship deals, appeal of the EPL to get players, sell out domestic crowds with higher ticket prices and they'd be competing for Champions League spots in England. Plus they'd also attract foreign investment. As long as they play in Scotland they are stunted and smaller teams like Saints are more attractive to their players. Not saying we are a bigger club, of course not but more attractive due to circumstance as the Wanyama deal highlights.
  20. Celtic averaged 44,964 in domestic football last season.
  21. In terms of domestic football, Celtic had little need for him to be particularly defensive in a one team league last season.
  22. It is to represent the year of the Lisbon Lions and Celtic's 1967 European Cup win. "After reading the club's history, I have chosen 67 as my squad number to show appreciation to the 1967 squad." So maybe he'll want to swap the numbers around to 76 with Saints!
  23. It doesn't match the Championship, look at the size of the 11 biggest clubs in the Championship, all of them would be the 2nd biggest in the current SPL. Even beyond the top 11 in the Championship there would be other Championship sides that would also match up, plus Wolves, Bristol City, Bradford, Sheff Utd in League One and even, dare I say it... Pompey in League 2.
