None of those were for more than the reported Damiao figure of £22.67m.

Welling isn't that far from Southend, so it is possible he was in Southend 2 hours ago and joined up with Saints at Welling. But would be an odd build up for a game to be away from the squad, would Southend be watching him play tonight before rubber stamping the deal?
