Have you considered the club doesn't want to reveal the details of which defenders it is interested in? That doesn't mean "jack-****" is happening on other fronts away from Ramirez. In any case Adkins has confirmed he wants one or two centre backs before the end of the window and also he is happy with Fox and Shaw at left back.

I doubt Terry Venables could name more than 3 current Saints players.

HCDAJFU - The transfer deadline countdown

He is 34 years old, on huge wages, slow, on the decline and it is only a loan. Goes completely against our transfer policy. -

That simply isn't true. If it is please provide some evidence... -
Holloway talks about Saints and Phillips after tonight's game here... http://www.player.blackpoolfc.co.uk/latest-news/article/2896446/date/20120821225700/page/0/name/Listen-to-the-thoughts-of-Ian-Holloway

Selling Oxlade-Chamberlain for £12m (rising to £15m) has a big impact on that.

So journalist in England = wrong, journalists in Italy = right On what is that based? What makes one more reliable to you than the other?

Pretty high success % then, although these are just the ones that made the media. Same at most clubs; lots of enquiries, rebuffs and non completions happen all the time. Hardly unique to Saints and Cortese.

Not that sensible really, as none of us have a clue what is going on behind the scenes. A huge amount may have happened, just not been made public yet (if at all).

Saints finished 2nd in the top flight within the lifetime of a large number of people on this forum.

For as well as Ward-Prowse played, I can't see him keeping Davis out of the starting XI once he is fully fit. Will have to see how fit he is come Saturday.

...and that ends my participation in the thread until the attendance is known on Saturday.

They've only recently opened up the blocks Wigan aren't going to be using haven't they?

Odd you picked up for this, but not the posts I was responding to... If it bothers you that much, put me on your ignore list and stop complaining.

Crosby said to get him on the ball more. Playing him in the centre gets him more involved. What it does tie in with is watching our games this summer, in friendlies and yesterday. Yesterday (as he has most of the summer), Schneiderlin sat alot deeper than the other central midfielders. He is the holding midfielder, then he had Lallana and Ward-Prowse in front of him who are expected to both defend and also break forward to support the striker and wide players. What you describe is not a 433, Adkins even refers to the system we have been using as 433.

Saints currently 1-0 up, goal from Sam Hoskins after 12 minutes. Cropper Butterfield Stephens Turnbull Dickson(c) Reeves Chambers Moore Sinclair Lee Hoskins Subs: Johns (GK) Curtis McQueen Young Butterfield, Dickson and Tadanari Lee the overage players. Butterfield and Dickson possibly to impress scouts, although Butterfield maybe to be used this season often as "older head" to help lead the youngsters, Tadanari Lee to get match fitness after long injury.

By watching the friendlies and watching the game yesterday. No he isn't. We played like this yesterday... K.Davis Clyne Fonte Hooiveld Fox Schneiderlin Ward-Prowse Lallana Puncheon Rodriguez Do Prado Like we have throughout pre-season. If Lallana were playing "in the hole", you can't really call it a 433 can you? Schneiderlin sits very deep as the holding midfielder just in front of the centre backs, Ward-Prowse and Lallana in front of him and are expected to support the central striker, but the main formation is still as shown above.
-
Lallana is being used in central midfield and Cork will be back soon. Central midfielders aren't what we need with Lallana, Davis, Schneiderlin, Cork and Ward-Prowse.
