What tipped the balance for you?

We didn't spend £12 million on 21 year old Uruguayan internationals under Poortvliet. Academy players will only get near the first team if they are good enough like Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Walcott, Bale, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lallana. With a category 1 academy and some of the best training facilities in England at Stapleowood, recruitment for young players will improve even further at Saints and we'll be producing more quality players than ever before. The team will continue to be a mix of signings like Ramirez, Clyne, Forren etc and academy products like Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Lallana etc.

"Jason Puncheon, he wears what he wants!"

Why would you hope that? Of course he deserves a good package, but "screws us to the ground"? A lot of it may have already been sorted out at the time of his contract extension.

I bet on the day he was sacked (given promotion wage rises etc), he was on a lot more than circa £6k p/w. Mauricio Pochettino was apparently on £25k p/w at Espanyol, I'd guess Saints have given him a pay rise on that.

tbf to Biglia, he is an Argentinean international, captain of Anderlecht and playing in the Champions League. I'm happy with Cork and Schneiderlin, but if we bring in players like Biglia, I won't complain at the extra competition in the squad. -
Nick Harvey the fitness coach was being used to get the message to players alot.

Did he seriously suggest Paul Jewell?

Mayuka's most effective game for us was wide on the right in the 4-2-3-1 vs Tottenham at St Mary's, changed the game when he came on and looked more effective than he did as a central striker. I do agree we could do with another attacking wide player though. -

Emmanuel Mayuka? -
Mauricio Pochettino played in France for 3 years for PSG and Bordeaux, so probably was talking to Schneiderlin in French. He also speaks Italian and his English isn't as bad as is being made out by some in the press.

Early days but could you see the changes with MP tonight?

I dread to think what this forum will be like if I get back from the game and we've lost!

Bemusing why Sky Sports News and the BBC think SISA represent the views of Saints fans. SISA number about 10 people, elect a chairman etc for what exactly? Their chairman can barely string a coherent sentence together, let alone get his facts right.
-
Ok, lets say you were the Saints chairman and I was a Saints legend. As we all know you don't like me, if I was on Sky's "Soccer Saturday" every weekend slagging you off, would you honestly leave the "Matthew Le God lounge" titled as it is? I find that hard to believe. Technically I don't think anyone can use someone else's season ticket, the club aren't actually doing anything wrong not allowing into the stadium someone using Le Tissier's if it isn't him. What they are doing is enforcing the rules for him and not others, but given the one-way public slanging match Le Tissier is having with Cortese I don't blame him for not doing Le Tissier and his mates any favours.
-
If someone was slagging you off in public using the press would you be doing them favours in return?
-
He uses every opportunity he can on Soccer Saturday to slag Cortese off. A I said, it is a one-way slagging match that Le Tissier has maintained in public on various media outlets for a very long time.
-
I admire him as a player (hence my username) but Le Tiss claims Cortese has ego problem, yet continues weekly one-way slanging match via TV & papers.
