He scores goals at this level. Probably always will but he severely limits how a team can play and has more than proved he isn’t capable of the step up in the very unlikely event that we were ever promoted again in the next few years. Much rather a forward with the raw materials to develop into a decent player capable of managing the step up if given game time to develop. Assume that was the clubs thought process when buying Downs but he appears to be miles off the required standard.

Fair play to Bournemouth. Genuinely pleased for them but fuck me, it doesn’t half reinforce the fact that the running of this club over the past 7 or 8 years has been a complete and utter disgrace. Like us they’ve continually had their best players picked off by other clubs but rather than drinking their own koolaid thinking they could be clever and sign replacements for a fraction of the price they’ve sold for, they’ve replaced quickly and effectively and spent the type of money their sales have afforded them. Depressing to see as a Saints fan considering how good we had things about 10 years ago.

You could argue the same point with Bazunu and Ederson.

Does make you wonder at what point does Solak realise Sport Republic are completely clueless and force them out to protect at least a portion of his investment. They’ve repeatedly proven themselves totally bereft of ideas on how to run a successful club off the pitch and most importantly on it. I can’t fault the money that Solak has spent on the club. The big issue is on what and whom. It has been an absolute clinic in comedy recruitment from leadership to coaching staff to players. If it wasn’t my club I would find it absolutely hilarious. Do something, Dragan. Quickly.

I would hope by now the penny would have finally dropped with Solak that these chancers at SR are clueless and can’t see further than the end of their nose. Ask any semi knowledgeable Saints fan 3 years ago whether Bazunu was up to it or not and you’d have got a definitive answer yet they’ve only just reached this decision. Much the same as this constant 5 at the back ridiculousness which they are clearly about to finally abandon too.
