Trouble is you can only see the world through the laws as they would be applied today. So, if you were convicted of stealing a sheep last week, you would be a convicted sheep-thief and I would expect you to receive a penalty for that. But not be hanged from the neck until dead. As it is a statutory rape offence for a grown man to have sex with an under 16 year old, regardless as to who has instigated what, I cannot comment for what the law was in the 1970's, but today, he would be accused of rape. The most sickening thing, as others have mentioned, is the apparent collusion of others within the BBC. It's one thing turning a blind eye to a man's drink problem, or his gambling habit, but turning a blind eye to this is inexcusable. It's going to rumble and rumble this one......

fair enough. But it's statutory rape in this country, and if there is any evidence to support it, that is what he will get charged with. 15 year maximum jail term. Sex offenders register for life. Never working in a child facing environment again. I cannot believe the school had doubts and seemingly did nothing. I'm sure the pair of them are okay, but you cannot spend your entire life on the run* *unless you are a former owner of PFC -
This sums it up for me. Away from home this week, a bit glum, so I seek the solstice of other like minded nutjobs. Then this re-appears. Brilliant. There but for the grace of God. Comedy on sooooo many levels.

So there I was carefully composing a repost, which would have abused you in a "love of the team" sort of way, and we scored. Now we're two pages later..... Still, I'm glad my wager this evening wasn't a toss up between a Saints home win and a Bradford home win, otherwise I would be looking to lose a wedge........ d'oh

ok. I'm drinking bud, not particularly cold, but the hotel doesn't have any real beer. (amateurs) Later I will not be washing up or smoking, but may be going for a crap. I'll keep you all posted. COYR

In that surreal position of finding myself away from home midweek, when saints are at home....and having to log in here to see what's going on. What's the format then, do I moan about the team selection, the lack of home support, or whether we need a new chairman/manager tea lady? Or should I post pictures of nuns? What is it that dictates these things?

But the problem with that argument is that the club will be charged more by their bank to process cash, than they will to handle the card transaction. So on the basis that I am saving them money by paying by card, I should receive a discount ?????

a) Because I thought we would lose to Man Utd, City and Arsenal, with more than 2 goals difference in each game. We've done better than that. b) Because the introduction of two new defenders in a back five will always take more than 4 games (1 in the cb's case) to gel c) I'm not

Let's be realistic. Every year in the premiership we always used to get a tonking from someone. I'm as disappointed as the next Saints fan, but let's not go into a blind panic. Would you sooner be 4-1 down away at Arsenal at half time, or nil all at home to Walsall? We've just been spoilt in the past three seasons by winning more than we are used to. This makes getting a spanking hard to take, but it wont be the last one receive this season. I was expecting to be bottom after 4 games, as most of us were. We were hoping/expecting to have more than 0 points, but our points will come. Just not today.

That happened to mine once. Was just a broken spring. The drum was rattling more than it should because of a lack of tension from the spring. Cost me about £8 to buy a new one, 30 minutes to fix it, and several layers of lost skin fitting the stupid thing :-)

Deano, get a grip of yourself man, that almost sounds like sympathy..... :-)

It's a mechanism by which people can say meaningless comments and hope that somewhere on the planet, one or more of the 7 billion inhabitants is listening to them Portsmouth use it, but theirs is called "Twa!ter"

Can you imagine being good enough/confident enough/stupid enough to knock back a contract worth £75,000 per week? different world......

It would be an interesting poll now, will we/won't we? I think some of the nay-sayers would vote the other way (me included)

Sums up why it is impossible for this little country of ours to support four professional football divisions. Tier three football with low crowds and still relatively high earners (compared to the average man in the street). I do wish football governance would do some governing

City v Saints: sportsmans bet? SWF decision, please.

I did the same thing with Betfair, but instead of 1 pint, they now owe me £14.75. Marvellous. I can buy several pints for that (although in fairness my stake was a tenner) (oh, and to answer the original question, 1 pint) -
C'mon mush, you're having a laugh, arent ya?
