  1. Does look that way but who knows? TBH there's no outstanding candidate that everyone can get behind. Just hope that Spors gets whoever he identifies as his number one target and isn't left working his way down a list and eventually settling on someone he's not so sure on. Still think player recruitment will be more key than the new manager but if both Spors and the manager are absolutely aligned on what we need then that's not a bad place to start from.
  2. YES!
  3. So you don't see the hypocrisy of quoting someone saying we need significant growth but are happy to have voted for the conditions under which that's become very difficult and has lowered our growth? Come on man, own it, have the courage of your convictions. You should be pointing out to Maurice Glasman that this is the price you were all happy to pay right?
  4. Can’t claim to be an expert on how Lampard has done at Coventry but I watched the game last night. Coventry had way more possession, didn’t really create many chances and still lost through a stupid mistake. Sound familiar?
  5. Bit disingenuous, you've repeated on a number of occasions when it suited you that Brexit was about more than the economy. Here you are agreeing that Brexit was worth more than money. I'm sure I can find some more quotes if you really want to go down that path:
  6. Seeing as he also has Peruvian citizenship, it's probably just as likely that Trump has deported him to that huge vatican super prison.
  7. Yeah, that wasn't really my point, it was more on whether anyone takes what Trump says seriously. Starmer has probably done a reasonable deal under the circumstances.
  8. is it great PR if it comes from Trump? I think Mark Carney can testify to the benefits of not being endorsed by Trump.
  9. So, genuine question and appreciate it's probably a complex answer but does this deal put us in a better position than we were say a year ago before the imposition of tariffs, or is it just mitigating the worst effects of the tariffs and still leave us in a worse position than we were before Trump?
  10. Hold on, weren't you the one happily proclaiming that "Remoaners just don't get it, it's not about the money". Seems a bit misguided to start moaning about the economy now.
  11. All a matter of opinion but I agree, the matchday experience has been improved. Unfortunately it counts for little when you're losing every week - hopefully next season is much, much better in terms of results and we get a decent atmosphere going again.
  12. Cheers, yeah, it seemed quick to me given most people seem to quote around 2 years. I don't know many details except it was on the NHS rather than private. TBH it's pretty cool, I'm hoping she'll turn out to be one of the rain man ones and I can make a killing on blackjack.
  13. Well my niece has just finished her final assessment for autism and meets the criteria. Despite all the talk of how long it takes to get a diagnosis, I actually thought the whole thing was fairly quick as she only started the process in October or November. She’s 19 so might be because she’s considered an adult now. She’s reading English at Oxford (Corpus Christie) so it’s clearly not affected her academically but she does struggle more than most with new environments. Hopefully the diagnosis helps her with those situations. Oxford were complete twats initially and wanted her to defer because she came home for a few weekends. Fair play to her, she fought that and is doing really well now.
  14. As a wish list of players you’d like to get rid of then fair enough but realistically I doubt we’d be able to shift all of them. Take Downes, what did we pay? 20m? No premier league club either wants him or would pay that, and no championship club could justify it either. Ipswich possibly might want him but can’t see them paying anywhere near that for him. Sure you can take a loss but don’t go crying if PSR bites us in the ass in the future.
  15. I'm all for this. Maybe at the same time they're celebrating they can have a little think about what those American troops fought and died for and then compare it against the values Trump stands for.
  16. I’m not really fussed either way but that does feel a little harsh on Bednarek. Seems like every opinion has to be binary these days, either brilliant or rubbish. I think he’s average. I know you rate Edwards but the limited amount I’ve seen of him hasn’t really suggested anything fantastic. Awareness and a bit of composure at this level but not that mobile. I’ll wait and see on him and he’ll probably be fine for the championship but I’m not expecting him to be a massive upgrade on Bednarek.
  17. Given the apparent friendship between Jim White and Solak, this should be an easy one to clear up. Solak does an interview on TalkSport to clarify his position.
  18. Go for it, guaranteed goals which I gather is something you've not had much of recently. Not necessarily goals at the right end but still worth a go.
  19. That's one hell of a non-prediction, I'd love to see what happens when you're certain of something.
  20. Thought I’d have a look at the QPR V Burnley game to see how Edwards is getting on. Half time and QPR are 3 nil down but Edwards has done ok. He might have reacted quicker for the second goal but it wasn’t his man to pick up. Seems to have decent awareness and anticipation and cleared off the line on one occasion. Shown enough to indicate he’s relatively press resistant and comfortable in possession but hasn’t been adventurous in his passing or stepped into midfield. edit: subbed on 79 minutes. QPR went to 3 at the back and it didn’t suit Edwards as well, showed a lack of mobility a bit and picked up a yellow card
  21. Clearly you have faith in ChatGPT......
  22. Descartes was wrong on this one, you can only deduce evidence of a thought rather than your own existence. Unless you have faith in your own existence……?
  23. I dunno, I know several people who have done road trips across the US without booking up the entirety of their stay. My parents have done it quite a few times and on one occasion didn't even have their first night booked anywhere when they landed.
  24. Are you suggesting we would deny him entry?
