Specific questions invite specific answers, which could be revealing. Vague, unclear questions invite generalised, meaningless responses. And specific questions (like "why are the shirts so expensive") may not be answered directly, but they do make their point. -
There's another article about Delap's long throw-ins (on the BBC Football site). But they focus on his use of them when he was with Stoke City. Here's one of their quotes: "Delap's arrow-like long throws were iconic - and terrifying." When he used them regularly at Southampton, I don't recall them being either "iconic" [hate that lazy use of the word] or "terrifying". In fact, I don't recall them achieving much of anything. Or do I remember them incorrectly? https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c2096dvl47no

Is there audio commentary from Blackmore and Tessem (?).

I would rather the band did some singing of their songs, instead of just relying on signing.

I've been to Strasbourg a few times. Lovely city. And it sits in the Alsace region, which has really good white wines: riesling, gewürztraminer, pinot gris, sylvaner. So, good move on Edozie's part!

1 out of 3 Trump supporters is just as stupid as the other two.

I'd not heard of that before. Thanks. Just listened to it. Interesting. He has quite the range on his vocals.

It took over from the use of "basically". The words I overuse are "actually" and "apparently".

The cheese is superb. To name bur a few: Stilton, Wensleydale, Cheshire, Caerphilly, Dorset Drum, and Shropshire Blue. My current favourite is Red Leicester.

Are we hobbled now in finding any more puns? Nah, I'm far from knackered; I can saddle you with a few more. In fact, it's a cinch to provide a few on the trot--as long as you don't try to jockey me out of position. Shot my bolt? I think not, I'm chomping at the bit, and that's the mane thing.

First opportunity I had to buy records was money earned as a paper boy for the newsagent on Hollybank Estate in Hythe in 1969. I bought mostly singles (45 rpm)--the first one was "Get Back". Singles cost 7/6 back then. The first album (LP) I bought was The Righteous Brothers Greatest Hits--prompted by the re-release (in 1969) of their single "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". There was a record shop on Pylewell Road in Hythe back then--near the Co-op grocery store.

It's unfortunate to see Walker-Peters end his time at SFC. He was one of the more consistent performers during his time at the club, and I was always glad to see him in the lineup on matchday. His forays down the wing were always good to see, and he was one of the few players, in recent memory, who liked to dribble and take on opposing defenders. His ability to play on the left, as well as the right side, was an added bonus. I wish him well.

Canadian Saints
Hamilton Saint replied to Saint Albert's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
The worst thing, of course, about relegation to The Championship is the loss of regular TV coverage in Canada of Saints' games. As I recall, during the 2023-2024 season, DAZN showed only about ten matches involving the Saints. The cost for a subscription is currently $199 per year. On top of that you'd have to subscribe to audio coverage (Adam and Jo) via Saints Play in order to hear live commentary. That appears to be the current setup for the 2025-2026 season. Will Southampton F.C. ever have a scheme that would offer video coverage of all games involving the Saints (in the Championship)? And with their own commentators. -
Ahhh ... "Pease, Please, Please" was a James Brown hit from 1956 and 1964. It was featured in his epic performance on the TAMI show--which includes the never-ending "collapsing-on-stage" shtick. Classic!

Yeah. That old joke when I was a kid. Where do you want Stephens to be for this match? Left back--left back in the dressing room.

This must be the first time an American president has lost a Canadian election. Thanks, DT!

As I recall, Delap used the long throw for Saints endlessly, but with very little success. Did we ever score from one of them?

Thanks, you saved me the bother!

That was supposed to be Mussolini, I believe.

Thanks, man!
