"Disease of choice", says one of you. "Trendy 'must-have' disease of 1980s fashionistas", says another. Jeez!
  3. Weirdly, it's just the opposite for me. For several years now, I have been expecting us to win pretty much every time we play. Amazing feeling of confidence!
  4. "The real winners in this case, the public is likely to conclude, are the libel lawyers." Well, that is a surprise!
  5. Pick another name?
  6. Indeed. Back in the pre-relegation-from PL days I would listen to each game with a sense of dread and impending disaster. For the last three or four years, I listen with an unshakeable feeling of confidence - even when we concede a goal first. It really is weird! But I love it.
  7. If Saints have the best defensive record this season - only five goals conceded so far - why hasn't he ever featured Fonte or Alderweireld in his Team of the Week.
  8. There's a Premier Inn hotel (City Centre South) about 3 km west from Celtic Park. Is that close enough?
  9. He mentions a drum being thumped throughout the entire game at CP as though that is something good.
  10. Just to digress - I really dislike nicknames like MoPo and RoKo. The manager's name is Koeman. What's wrong with using his real name? That's only two more letters to type! As far as the original point goes, I would favour getting in another striker - if a decent one becomes available. What could ruin our current hot form is two or three injuries to key individuals: Pelle, Tadic, Fonte or Alderweireld, for example. I think defence and midfield are covered. Another striker would be good.
  11. Cowardly thing to say.
  12. Good one!
  13. Should be fun with the likes of Wenger and van Gaal.
  14. Mane - almost! Just wide!
  15. Come on, Saints!
  16. Well ... I did a lot of gloating today at work!
  17. Yes, it's a great album. Of the more recent ones, I think the best is "I'm Alive", which features the gorgeous "Sky Blue and Black". The album deals with the fallout from his divorce from Daryl Hannah. Should add that I saw Jackson Browne first at The Riverboat Coffeehouse in Toronto in about 1972-73. David Lindley (great in his own right!) was accompanying on second guitar, mandolin and fiddle.
  18. I've been listening to this one all week, too. I particularly love the final track. Simple but beautiful. I'm not so keen on his overtly political songs. He can tend to get a bit preachy ("Which Side", for example).
  19. I agree with you on all of that!
  20. And this one, "Foolishness", is even better!
  21. The superb alt-country rocker Lucinda Williams has just released a double-CD album called Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone. Here's a taste of what's on offer. "West Memphis"
