  1. Mutual admiration society for the Davis haters. The first goal Saturday was entirely Davis' fault. The rest of what Derry posted is just ********. You saw how we completely disintegrated once he was subbed and we turned into a total shambles for the last 20.
  2. He didn't mention the number of wins.
  3. Nailed on signing then ;-) .
  4. He's scored 5 in all comps. Plus gosls for Ireland.
  5. I don't think you are the reason. Most of us have seen precious few. Even some we didn't lose felt like we had.
  6. You consolidate by following up 8th and 7th with a couple more seasons around 7th-10th. Quite simple really. We shouldn't expect to improve every year, just unrealistic. Consolidation is ok, but out and out regression is just not acceptable.
  7. How do we suddenly get physical? We can't roll Brian O'Neill out (or even Big John RIP). We don't have physical players, unless maybe you want to see Caulker start Our only remotely physical players are Vic and Davis, and look where they got us yesterday (OK, Romeu as well I guess).
  8. So sacking Monk was not a panic? Problem is not getting to the next level, problem is falling way below the last level. A season or two of consolidation would be fine.
  9. There will be a much bigger debt if we don't spend. Its also not a real debt.
  10. Its because of how bad we were yesterday. Not talking about the first 20 minutes, when we did look decent. But after the first goal we became a total shambles compounded after the substitutions when the players that were left had absolutely no idea what they were meant to do, I have seldom seen a team looking so shambolic as that last 15-20 minutes. Spurs had done what Poch always did and decided 2 was enough. When you see us play like that (and we have done it several times this season, think Leicester 2nd half and Bournemouth 2nd half, not just the games we lost) then even the most optimistic supporter starts to see that we are relegation fodder, there are only 2 teams worse than us, Villa (who we couldn't beat) and Sunderland).
  11. Agree, totally. Been saying it for a long time. Our defence and midfield is getting all the blame at the moment, but its our forward players who are the real problem (Pelle, Tadic and sorry to say Mane who has completely lost his way in the last few games, needs to be played centre again)
  12. Davis for JWP and that would be a decent line-up. JWP is exactly the sort of player Ronald was talking about yesterday. Also its always a disaster when Ronald takes Davis off, we lost what little bite and attacking abality we have in midfield. Granted yesterday he had a poor game, and the first goal was completely his fault initially.
  13. I don't think he's low on confidence. Just the opposite in fact, over confident. Yesterday he was a complete and utter donkey. We have to find an alternative, he is just not good enough to be our only option, and has occasional purple patches at the start of the season and then goes months without looking like scoring. I also don't buy it when people say its a lack of service, he gets decent service but cannot deal with.
  14. Carry on believing...
  15. May well be 4 by the end of today. We do still have a better GD though.
  16. Was half decent today, probably our best player, though thats not saying much
  17. Yep, we should also ensure that we do no business whatsoever with Spurs, and that definitely includes 'Dros Townsend.
  18. We're ****ed then. "Southampton Nil"
  19. Southampton Nil. No need to say more.
  20. Love it when someone brands everyone who disagrees with their short-sighted view something unspeakable. Fiddle away Mr Nero.
  21. Agreed, if Spurs (or anyone else) were interested surely today's performance would have ended that interest. Awful, responsible for giving the ball away so many times. I hadn't really joined in with the anti-Vic posts recently, but today he was a complete tosser (along with several others).
  22. Perhaps they were looking to see if they have Mourinho's number.
  23. Guess you didn't see him today then. Looked like he had no idea how to pass a ball today. Unfair to have a go at Juanmi only, but he was awful and looked completely out of his depth today.
  24. Don't disagree, but if you get the part right about beating the teams below us then at least you end up above the bottom 3 (or bottom 6). Other wins and draws you pick up on the way then push you further up. The difference between finishing 14th and finishing 7th is not that great in terms of results. The current team is clearly not good enough to finish the same place as last season which was probably the target for this season. Too fragile and too dependent on players who have proved for the second season running that they are not consistent enough.
  25. Its actually more important to beat the teams below us. Consistently beat the teams in the bottom 6 and not only will you get more points but you also stop them. If they get an occassional win against the top boys it will not compensate completely. Problem with us at the moment is we are not winning enough games full stop.
