Bear in mind that Birmingham u18s are in the second level of the u18 Professional Development League, i.e. 2 levels below Saints in the u18 Premier League. This is the level that we should be seeing new youngsters coming through, rather than the u21, and frankly we have become gash, in the words of Alpine. It is very worrying how bad our much lauded academy has become, we should be able to teach the Americans a thing or two.

VvD is certainly our best signing this season. Is he better than Toby (who signed for Spurs this season)? Not sure yet.

Actually with access to resources Shaqiri is actually 1 cm taller than Clasie apparently (1.70 to 1.69). Must be the fact that his shorts are too big for him and nearly touch his ankles makes him look really small. Still Jordy is 2 inches or 4cm taller than Dyer.

Think he would actually do better with a loan to Spain, rather than the Championship. Gary Neville could take him on and give him a season to develop in a league where pace is not so critical and where his decent technique would be valued. In the Championship he would probably get kicked off the park.

5 defeats on the trot for the u18s, no more games until 2016. Our Academy is shocking at the moment. But think you are being a bit pessimistic for the 1st team, would be shocked if we lose 4 on the trot. But 4 tough fixtures agreed.
