Agreed, apart from Shaw there was no sense that I was aware of that anyone was on their way on that day, likewise for the people that sit around me. Also, most supporters would have stomped down the aisles, not up, clearly it is artistic licence.
-
Clearly a typo, convert the US dollar figure back to GBPs and it is £105m (as opposed to 150). Strange thing is I really don't recall there being a lot of concern at the last game last season, sure I knew Shaw was probably on his way, but I didn't leave the ground that day with any sense of foreboding about what was going to happen in the summer. Still good to know that those in the heart of the club felt the same way about what happened in the summer as most supporters did, unlike some of the unbelievable Billy Big ******** types on here who try to make out they knew everything would be OK all along.

Robbie Savage - Why its time to take Saints seriously
VectisSaint replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
I said when they come calling. Because call they will, just losing SD last week was bad enough (and we are already denied the services of JRod and JWP). Pelle and Morgan 1 booking away from suspension. I don't see any reason to be afraid of Man City or Manure if we have our full team available. Chelsea are a different matter. There are too many similarities with last season for my liking. -
Unlikely, there are no accents in his name.
-
Based on what he saw on Monday that is a fair assessment. We were ****e. But we still got a point.

Robbie Savage - Why its time to take Saints seriously
VectisSaint replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
To be fair to the **** most of what he wrote there is correct, though hardly insightful. Just a shame that by putting up the then and now teams he missed the key man out that meant we struggled on Monday night, i.e. Steven Davis. Being a little bit pedantic it would have been better if he had put Tadic on the left where Lallana was, not necessarily because he plays there all the time (though he does seem to be slightly more effective on the left) but because his other points were about replacing Lallana with Tadic. Unfortunately for the **** he is probably about to back the wrong horse again, just like he did pre-season, bigging us up just as we are going to start to slip up (for the same reason as last season, lack of strength in depth when Messrs Injury and Suspension come calling). -
Not a problem, he can get another one next year, he could even get two one at the Neu and one at St Marys. Or he could ask his mate Lovern if he has one... ah slight problem with that idea.
-
It doesn't bother me that he has us down to lose, but its the usual stuff writing what he thinks about us (and Man City) and then making up a score which has no bearing on his "analysis". Apparently we are very strong defensively and have a goal threat in Pelle, so I predict 0-2. No logic in that. He may well be right (he does get it right very occasionally).

I like this bit: Wanyama, the flashy bigger-than-life baller who lives in a five-bedroomed posh house (Sh250,000 monthly rent) [£1760]

Forget it, I know the answer now

If Davis is fit he should be one of the first on the team sheet, think that was clearly demonstrated on Monday night. Assume what you mean from the bit in bold is that every chance they get they will score, so you are not expecting Forster to make any saves from on target chances. I'm not wholly convinced by FF yet, but I do hope that he will make some saves. His success rate is still about 75% of saves for on target chances.
-
How can anyone take seriously someone who is referred to as The Goat and more importantly does not know the difference between there and their: I've seen enough to know Southampton will not sustain there good form I hope we prove this "footballing expert" wrong. Still, if he watched us on Monday he will probably be as bemused as most other people about how a team that plays as **** as that is 2nd in the PL.
-
Like it, must have been one of the biggest "shadows" ever, Desperate Dan becoming invisible, more likely to seem like an eclipse.
-
Excellent report, summed it up very well, we were absolute ****e, neutrals watching on TV must have wondered how the hell we are 2nd. But as you say, fortunately Villa were ****er. I even learned a new word "bunt" still don't really know what it means (some sort of American rounders term) but it does sort of sum up Mane's embarrassing effort early on. Why is it that we play badly like this sometimes, West Brom at home for instance? I did wonder whether the PL would investigate strange betting patterns after the performance on Monday night.

Saints interested in Paulo Dybala says the Mirror
VectisSaint replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
What we need is Gary Neville and our Black Box to recommend him -
He already shares midfield with Morgan, I expect sharing his home with him as well is a step too far.

"Property worth millions is believed to have been taken" - millions of what? A Range Rover and 3 TVs are not going to be worth millions (of pounds). At least the other report in the other thread said it was thousands.

The extra 2 days rest worked well last night.

Why would anyone be surprised by Agbonlahor's speed? It is his greatest asset and what he is best known for in footballing terms.
-
Oh my God, another of the "Look how brilliant I am, I can prove all my arguments are right and I know everything there is to know about football and no-one else knows ****" poster. I thought we had enough of this "thrush" type on other threads. Clearly demonstrated that your understanding of football is questionable and your understanding of the concept of people having views contrary to your own is completely alien. If you cannot see some of the weaknesses of Forster's current game and cannot deal with people making a point about this without saying that the guy is complete horse crap, then really feel a Forum is not the place for you. Forster is 26, youngish for a keeper, and he will develop and will probably be a great keeper in time, but to just ignore his current failings and pretend they don't happen is just plain daft. He made a blunder last night, as Ron said "we are all human people", nothing wrong with that, but to ignore the other incidents and his nervousness which has been evident on several occasions this season is just ostrich-like. At times his body language reminds me of Gazza (just to be clear this is not saying he is better or worse or even comparable to Gazza, just a reference to a common trait in his behaviour on the pitch). It is concerning that we have a keeper who is anxious and indecisive when he is lined up behind the best back 6 in the premier league and one of the best in Europe. Its worrying, but there's nothing to be done about it other than just stick with it until hopefully his confidence improves, he is our No 1 keeper and will be for many years to come hopefully. Anyway, I guess as I know nothing about footballers i should just understand my place is in the wet bed and try to ignore any negatives with the team. I look forward excitedly to our match against Man City with confidence.
-
That's just daft, its the back 6 that have prevented the shots getting in, not the back 4. By the way the comment about least goals in Europe is wrong as well, we were 3rd least before tonight. Still only the rose-tinted specs brigade will continue to think that he's the greatest thing since sliced bread while shouting bed wetting at anyone who has a view that is based on reality.
-
It wasn't just his howler tonight, he looked nervous and indecisive on more than one other occasion, and not for the first time this season. He has hardly been troubled by shots on target so far this season because our MF/defence has stopped any shots coming in. He is great with crosses most of the time, his distribution is far better than Boruc, but sometimes he reminds me of Gazza, and tonight was one of those times. I still like and rate him, but he is not the greatest keeper in the world at the moment and there is no evidence yet that he is an upgrade on Boruc. I hope Desparate Dan proves me wrong.
-
Dreadful game, awful performance, we got a point thanks to Nat Forster gives me the willies, like having Gazza in goal tonight.
-
What game are watching? We have been as crisp as a soggy lettuce. Wanyama has been shocking. Missing Davis badly.

Villa bus delayed. Why do they use a bus?
