  1. Bournemouth, home and away.
  2. We know Tadic is OK more interested to know about Steven Davis.
  3. Assume that everone posting on here missed RK's presser. He is not coming bIf he did he would not get any more game time than he does now.ack on loan. End of.
  4. Maybe we will have a white Xmas and all the games get postponed, that would solve the problem. Then we can play twice a week in Feb/Mar to catch up, with all the new players added to our squad in January. I don't believe for one moment that RK launched a tirade or anything approaching one, but I think he probably knew about this pretty soon after he took the job, if not before. It does disadvantage all but the very big clubs due to squad size, but that is what pre-season planning is partly about, ensuring that you have a deep enough squad to cover this part of the season, and despite all the "i told you so comments" by some of our posters on here, this is a little of what some people say we have not addressed. 18 players out and 7 in during the summer and 2nd place after 11 matches does not necessarily mean everything in the garden is rosy.
  5. TYpical, just as he looked like being effective, same old Gaston, but it really wasn't a red card.
  6. Just enjoyed seeing him playing Poch at his own game, closing down the Spuds defence and forcing them into a mistake. Has actually looked quite good, would love to see him score against Spuds (but then I always enjoy anyone scoring against them).
  7. You have to remember that journos are used to getting complete denials from managers from the likes of Redkrapp, and so when a proper manager denies something they just think "Arry" and assume he is lying like their fav media whore.
  8. He is Australian, but both his parents have Greek ancestry (probably means his Grandparents were Greek). He has been with Saints since he was 14 (17 now) and before that was with Chelsea. I don't think going to Feyenoord will have anything to do with his nationality or visa type issues. Easier for him to get into England than any European nation as an Aussie.
  9. I have my doubts that he will be with us beyond this season, sounds like he wants to play for AM again, but we will see, I have no doubts that he will give his all for us while he is here, great player in my view, yet another that complements Jose and forms a partnership where the sum of the parts is greater than the individuals.
  10. Did Ron mention Cork? I've listened but didn't hear Jack mentioned at all. He was asked very specifically twice about Clyney and responded about him specifically. Did I miss something?
  11. Really hard to see why it could possibly have turned into a "turkish bashing thread". After all your post was so nice and polite and at the time at least you were one of the most respected posters. What exactly were you right about by the way? Given you are right about everything its difficult to know what specifically you were right about in that particular thread. Clearly there were updates to the page after your nice, polite request was made, but seems to have lapsed again since. Does anyone genuinely look to this page regularly expecting to find news? Do we really pay to access the Latest News page? I thought the payment was to allow full use of the forum.
  12. As is so often the case, a major point is missed in these articles. The crunch last season coincided with a string of injuries and suspension, starting with Boruc breaking his finger. The issue is going to be whether we have a similar problem to overcome this season which would once again stretch our paper-thin squad. we actually have a smaller squad than last season (after shipping out 18 players over the summer), though it can be and is argued that what we do have is more strength in depth. But can we cope when we have potential injuries to Davis, Morgan and possibly Tadic (and maybe even Pelle, who knows why he did not participate in Italy's friendly with Albania) on top of the long term injuries to JRod and JWP. It will be interesting to see. I also had to laugh when the article suggested that we brought Long in to replace Billy Sharp. Surely either Long or Mane were brought in to replace Guly and/or Gaston. I see that Forster is also heralded for only conceding 5 goals, whereas Boruc had also only conceded 5 at the same stage last season if my memory serves me right. Yet no mention of this perhaps being largely down to the excellent form of Morgan and Vic (strangely omitted from the list of transfers in under Poch's reign). Its clear that some of these people who write this stuff still don't really get what has gone on in full.
  13. Actually we don't. 18? players out in the summer and 7? in. Where is Guly when we need him?
  14. What is Eira? According to Google it is a neighbourhood in Helsinki, Finland. Have we re-signed Niemi as back up for Forster?
  15. In 18 months yes, or we could lose him for a fee in 6 months, or we could lose him for a bigger fee if we offer him a new contract. However in all three scenarios the one thing that is common is that we lose Clyne. Having an extended contract has bugger all effect on whether a player goes or not, the evidence of last summer is clear for all to see.
  16. Bench = please refer to R Lambert or A Lallana.
  17. The only thing it would guarantee is a higher transfer fee. Contracts are otherwise worthless for the club.
  18. Has he gone yet?
  19. Good thing about being a Skate is that he won't be disappearing any time soon to rejoin his boyhood team. Unless he wants to slum it in the lower reaches of the Football League (or perhaps the Conference). Good to see the Shots did the biz tonight.
  20. Is JWP any good at nasty, niggling fouls? I thought Harrison Reed was being lined up as the new Scholes due to his hair colouring.
  21. Presumably the FA want England fans to chant pro IRA songs instead. I watched the game on TV last night and heard nothing and therefore could not be offended. But the media then go to town to ensure that everyone knows what was being chanted. On 5Live apparently it was "no surrender, no surrender, no surrender to the IRA" to the tune of "Sing Hosanna", the traditional Glasgow Rangers song sung to stir up religious hatred at he Auld Firm games. How anyone was surprised that this happened at Celtic Park in an Auld Enemy match is beyond belief. Naive to say the least.
  22. So three made it into the England squad but not you. Life's a *****. :-)
  23. So in summary people think this is a great article, but that the fundamental conclusion is wrong and that people who agree with that fundamental conclusion are daft. Hmm, thats good. The bit I particularly liked reminded me of the days before the smoking ban in stadiums: "but his majestic control and ball skill soon endeared him to the fans that lit up when he warmed up down the touchline." Maybe this is why Le God was not as fit as he could have been, inhaling all of the secondary smoke from the fans at The Dell when he was warming up.
  24. Looked fine when I saw him in town yesterday afternoon. Certainly no obvious injury.
