Very much doubt he would risk him against Sheff Utd, unless he has to. But will be good to have him back for Everton.

Apart from Schneiderlin, Rodriguez, Cork and Gallagher. 4 missing from a very small squad is still significant.

Awful idea. Far worse than Mondays (which are awful), coping with weekend exodus traffic. No thanks.

Boruc will not be there next season, he is planning to return to Legia.

This. Good to see that at least one person actually read the article instead of just the headline. The one thing he definitely does not do is rule out CL, he says we have to learn quick (if we want to achieve that). the real situation is that there really are only 2 teams better than us in the PL, Chelsea and City. They are so far ahead of everyone else, Man U are there despite being awful after a run of lucky results, West Ham are doing well, yet we scored 3 against them, Arsenal are unbelievably average. The thing that is preventing the dream of CL is our pathetically thin squad, just like last season. Until that is properly addressed we will never get to CL and probably not EL either.

Van Persie basically said it was luck on his part, 9 times out of 10 it wouldn't have gone in. I credit RvP with playing in offensive positions at a semi decent level "The first goal is a bit of a gamble, nine out of 10 times it doesn't come off and you still have to score. I was a bit lucky there, it went through his legs but you earn your luck in those situations." I still don't really blame FF for the first goal, everyone knows it was an awful back pass from Jose, when he could have just knocked the ball into touch. But to try to deny that FF was completely blameless is just ignoring the facts. In the end the first goal mattered not, we equalised, it was their second that beat us, and that was definitely the fault of FF, although the defence, and Big Vic in particular must shoulder some of the responsibility for losing their man.

Mayuka. I note that RK did not mention him when he talked about players we would lose in January and needing to replace them. Maybe the plan is to give him away rather than sell him, you know like one free Mayuka with every 4 gallons of petrol or something. We could also sell Boruc, Osvaldo, Ramirez (all unlikely but could have happened).
-
But conversely we would beat Southampton, especially with their injuries, so that's a 6 point advantage we would have over Arsenal. I think.

He will be at Boscombe next season when they are promoted to PL, returning to his spiritual home (on loan)

Some sort of micro-climate in the New Forest?

OK, as long as we get in a new #2.

A stat that if I recall correctly was very similar to Boruc last season at the same stage.

Liverpool(H) moved to Sunday 22nd February
VectisSaint replied to once_bitterne's topic in The Saints
Nope, its after R32 1st leg, so they could be sweating having narrowly lost the 1st leg and needing to save their players for the 2nd leg before getting knocked out again. -
Was this before or after Toby had eaten a sub? It could be similar to Shaw with Nando's. One Nando's and Luke is out sick.
-
I would suggest it is their only chance.

It was floated, not much pace, high into the area by Rodney. It certainly was not drilled in low and hard. Forster should have come for it, but Vic lost his man and let RVP peel off at the back. I think I would agree with the comments by Merrington who assessed it accurately.

If we make it through to the 5th round. Hopefully.

Long was completely ****ged. Agree that bringing on Mayuka is a waste of time, but this is just a clear indication of the lack of depth of the squad. Would have though Isgrove would have been a better bet. I was also available and would have been better than Mayuka.

Back in January (probably end of January), as was always the case.
-
I'm confident that had we had Schneiderlin available we would have won. Cork would have been sub, and to be honest we did not miss Toby (great player that he is), Yoshida was again a perfectly good backup and had little to do with the pathetic Manu attack (3 shots on target, of which two were howlers by Fonte and Forster). I guess the only possible thing that Toby might have done better than Yoshi was scored when that golden chance opened up, then again maybe Toby would not have been there/persisted as Yoshida did.

On the other had it wouldn't get shown on Sky in all likelihood. Therefore it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, we lose when we are on Sky usually because we are playing one of the Sky Favs.

K Kevin Friend (friend of Man Utd). It was far worse than "he gave us nothing", he blatantly gave many decisions the wrong way. Hence the crowd singing, we are Southampton, we've won a free kick" in the 2nd half. Shocking referee, had no big decisions to make (pens etc) but gave so many lesser decisions the wrong way, embarrassing. And don't give me any **** about if being a tough job (I know I have been a referee), he was just plain **** poor and should be suspended for the performance like the other knob jockey a couple of weeks back.

Becos thay iss hrad too spill.

Actually he did make one huge mistake last night, but recovered it well and thus got away with it, so it did not cost us. But like Fonte who made a big mistake but got punished, he was otherwise very comfortable and dominated the Manure forwards. Did Rooney play last night? Apart from his excellent corner that headed straight for the Northam, and a few arguments with the "referee" (I use the term loosely) it was like he wasn't there. Kevin Friend, appropriatley named, friend of Man Utd. While there are referees like that **** no team will ever break into the top four/five in the PL.

We Spent Nearly £40mill on Mane, Long, Forster and Gardos
VectisSaint replied to Pastor Patrón's topic in The Saints
Well there are a certainly a few knobs who give it large about having been right in the summer because we made a good start, without being able to see that there were still problems, unbelievable really. So why is there a problem with a few people redressing the balance? Fact is we are where we are, still seriously short of a decent squad (as opposed to team) with a major lack of alternatives in one or two positions, yet still doing pretty good thank you. Just a shame when we make the same mistakes as last season, you would think the Club would learn from the mistakes.
