Was Lowe a lot closer to being right than we give him credit for?
VectisSaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Priceless. If you weren't so dumb this would almost be funny. So Lowe had a Plan B, oh my MLT, where did that come from? Wilde has had meaningful discussions with the Bankers, wonderful, why is the Football Club Chairman having discussions with Bankers, and not the plc Chairman? And constructie talks with Bankers, you mean those folks who have caused the credit crunch and who take £650k per annum pension funds, well thats comforting to know that they are able to at least understand how a FC is financed. Lowe will never ever do anything "in good faith". Lowe does things to the benefit of shareholders (which of course is something he is supposed to do), but of course the fact that he and his cronies are the biggest shareholders wouldn't be a factor there would it? As for "diligently trying to reverse two spectacularly failed years of gross mismanagement", I assume you mean when his new chum Mike Wilde was in charge (well 18 months anyway). Seems extremists like you think that this is a different Mike Wilde than the one who specatcularly ****ed up, but is now having constructive talks with the bankers, you really coudn't make it up. Two failed business men in charge of our Club and still you cannot se what a waste of space they are. Still I suppose you are entitled to your view, as much as people with a brain are. -
Shame when someone refers to the truth. Very doubtful that we would have been in administration, but even if we had been we also might not have been in the relegation zone, have you considered that? Darlington are in Admin but are still fighting to get in the play-offs. Two great results, but people need to keep their feet on the ground, we are still in the drop zone, getting out is not in our own hands, and Wilde and Lowe are still "in charge". Fitzhugh makes a good point, don't knock it.

Quite clearly no. Lowe has and had no idea what he was doing. The plan he put in place has failed spectacularly, and now there is a new plan in place, not entirely clear where that came from, but probably not from Lowe - its interesting that he has hardly uttered a word since JP went (which is a good thing, since when he does make utterances they are invariably full of crap). In fact very little has been said since Mr Nice But Dim finally packed his bags. I think to try and turn it round now and try to make Lowe look successful out of this is scraping the barrel. Lowe's plans failed, miserably, luckily events have conspired to give us a fighting chance to recover from the utter madness. Lowe seems to have "disappeared" with his tail stuck firmly between his legs, thank MLT -
Problem is that you do care, thats why you do it. Mr Funny with the hilariously amusing login name; smug as you like, enjoys winding up more than just about anyone else but pretends he doesn't. Look at the League Table and tell me we are not still in the ****. You can be smug all you like end of season when Mark Greatest Dutch Manager of All Time has saved us from Relegation.

Didn't know he played cricket

Technically thats not true, we would have to have an unlikely 6-0 win away to Wolves in our game in hand for that to be tha case. Oh, hang on
-
When does the game in hand kick-in?

Tell you what (or Wotte), how crucial was that win today. Every other result, except Norwich wet against us. If we had lost today we would have been absolutely dead and buried. Can't believe some of the other scorelines...
-
Agreed, Lowe and Wilde you should be ****ing ashamed of yourselves wanting us to fail...

Why isn't our anger directed at Wilde? It is

This would explain why he let Rasiak and Skacel go out on loan last January then would it? Fact is Crouch had most of the ideas that Lowe has continued since his return, including shutting the corners and stopping the free buses, both of which were initiated under Crouch's leadership. You see the difference between Crouch and Lowe is that Crouch is a successful business man.

Photo caption: "The Quakers have struggled to attract fans to the Darlington Arena" It may be something to do with only having 4 players on the pitch At least they can go into admin and still be comfortable mid-table

The Trust really do not have a clue, do they. They are actually proposing 2 professional CEOs, one for the plc and one for the FC. I guess in a situation where there is a need to cut costs, that would help. What would make more sense would be to merge the 2 boards, and have one professional CEO, add Crouch and one other (MP or someone like Salz, for instance)to the merged board (and none of this Saints Trust board member nonsense). So that would be CEO, Lowe, Wilde, Crouch, Cowen and Jones + A N Other. Even then it would not do any harm to dispense with Cowen, although to me he is the most sensible of the lot, but a 7-man board seems too big. With the right CEO, and a willingness by the "3 amEgos" to sort this mess this could be made to work.

If we had to get 2 out of the 3 off our books, Saga and Ras were already sorted before the season was underway I think. I understood that there was a falling out with John when JP refused to make him first choice of McG (quite how anyone could makes such a stupid decision is beyond me), and so john wa spushed out. No recall was possible for Saga, so could not get him back until January, and this became clear anyway once Todd (?) was known to be leaving Allborg. So, once John had got the boot for upsetting Nice But Dim, we were actually stuffed until 1st January. I don't think that its a case of now being able to afford to play Saga, I suspect we could have equally afforded to play him August-December, but had lost the opportunity. Still a huge gaff by Lowe, but explainable due to subsequent events.

Lowe would not write a polite letter to his customers (sorry supporters), he would simply have them ejected. Made me laaugh though to think about people getting excited at Boro games LOL

Could this possibly be "The end of a disastrous beginning"
VectisSaint replied to cambsaint's topic in The Saints
Thought Surman played regularly last season. McG was also used occassionally, especially by NP. Gillet is not a kid, Lallana was blooded by Burley and Pearson as well. Really James is the only one to have broken through regularly this season as a result of the Lowe Master Plan. If Wotte was his key man, why did he wait until over half-way through the season to make his key man count. Quite clear that Lowe did not know what he was doing, and only due to JP realising he was out of his depth and resigning did Wotte get a chance. Too early to say whether Wotte will prove to be any better than JP, after all he has same number of home league wins, and has managed his one win against Preston, who JP also manager to beat. Some encouraging signs but too early to draw any conclusions. -

How can you leave it to the end of the season to pass judgement on Lowe's master plan? The master plan has clearly been abandoned because it failed. This is now Plan B. Too early to judge yet whether this plan is any better, one win does not a football season make. Still the signs are promising that some people have learned that playing kids does not work, playing a few kids within an experienced team does. -
The report says he was carried off during a regular training session. The picture is obviously nothing to do with the report, as it is blindingly obvious that it is during a match, the clues would be the referee or assistant whichever and the St Johns Ambulance staff - you don't usually get refs and St Johns at traiing sessions. HTH.

Well if it was only because of 20 quid, why didn't the arrogant tosser let us know. We could have had a whip round. Bloody hell, another 20 we might have had John as well...

Look up his record and you will find out. One small success (QPR) after he helped get them relegated, nothing else. Relegated Leicester to add to his brilliant CV. Tha man is a clown, an embarrassment to football, and a two-time failure, that about sums him up. No trophies, 2 relegations, 1 promotion and a play-off final loser. The man is a loser. Always will be.

Bit like Holloway then. Some people think Holloway would be great yet he is a total and complete failure, with only one small success to his credit, and is a clown to boot. Too a degree I agree that Adams is not exatly what we need. Would prefer Cotterill.
