  1. Finished 1-1. First point of the season, still Stoke are one of the better teams in the division.
  2. We will if Chelsea want him back. If we get relegated we probably won't sell him or be able to sell him.
  3. Apparently confirmed as £50m and cannot be invoked until at least Summer 2023 (as I thought, these buyback clauses have a 2 year grace period. We also pay nothing until 2022. Seems like a very good deal (for us). Reported by InsideFutbol with credit to The Athletic.
  4. Apparently Scottish manager says he has been back in training and expected to get game time before he reports for international duty. Not quite what Ralph reported before the Wolves match.
  5. No, that there are still idiots who peddle this nonsense.
  6. Of course it doesn't, but why name a player that clearly isn't fit (apparently) and then have to replace him with someone else? It is non-sensical (if he is not fit).
  7. Great idea, hold Tella back and get relegated, financially that would have to be one of the stupidest ideas ever.
  8. This is crazy, how do Scotland get to select a player who hasn't even been in training for weeks. Something isn't right here.
  9. In what way? He was brought in to mentor young players, not to turn the B team into a title chasing team. Is there any evidence that the mentoring is not working? Maybe you were saying this in jest, but to blame Lancashire for the complete clusterfuck that is the B team at the moment seems a tad harsh.
  10. Saints were 2-0 up away to Birmingham but pegged back to 2-2 while I have been writing this. Ballard and Watts with the goals for us. Note that Simeu is playing.
  11. I'm not, why do you have to be so ignorant and rude, grumpy git.
  12. Beaten 1-0 by Palace. Unbeaten start to the league season ended, Palace now top of the South Group, Saints 6th. The U18s aren't doing too bad to be fair. B Team is a shambles and we shouldn't let that shambles colour our view of the younger team.
  13. Why don't you post u18 stuff on the u18s thread.
  14. Its not what I heard Hasenhuttl say in the bit of the press conference I heard (I didn't hear it all) but don't understand why Blackmore tweeted what he did. Anyway its been cleared up now, so its all a moot point. Bit concerning that Stu is taking so long to recover from whatever it is that is wrong (no one has really ever said), missing arguably our best player (certainly our most creative) should be a concern.
  15. Adam Blackmore tweeted that Theo and Stu are both training, but Tom Leach says Theo but not Stu. Who to believe.
  16. Although Ralph suggested it was not all bad, his knee isn't damaged at all. Could have been worse, but still serious long term injury. Some confusion on Stu, Tom Leach saying he is not training, others saying he is.
  17. Kammy raving about the cross from Valery 🤔
  18. Although the first language of the defence tonight is actually French.
  19. The good news is that we finished above P***** in that single post-war Football League South season. Strange the competition that season is glossed over in the Skates Wiki page.
  20. Quite, looked a very good natured chat between England team mates to me. Walker was probably just doing a bit of tapping up on behalf of Pep.
  21. So why did Man U scouts not identify him as a target before the transfer to Saints? Do the people who put out this rubbish really expect us to believe such crap. It would say a lot for their scouting system if they didn't notice him before, its not like he was hidden away so no one could see him.
  22. In the final group game against France a Fren h player raked his studs down Jimmy's shin. It required 14 stitches. It has always been said that Greaves was fit for the Final, but you have to wonder whether he would have been fully fit 10 days after suffering such an injury. These days a player would be out for weeks with a similar injury, and that is not taking into account the type of studs used in 66. I guess he could probably have played but Ramsey would have been follhardy to commit him for a potential 120 minutes. Very sad for Jimmy, but you have to say it worked out quite well for Sir Alf and England. Great player, probably my first real football hero when I was a little nipper before I discovered Saints and Mick Channon.
  23. Just to be clear we did not finish bottom of PL2 last season, we were bottom of PL2 Division 1. This year we are bottom of PL2 Division 2, it would be harsh to throw us out of PL2 for being the worst team for the first time, notwithstanding that we are in PL2 because of our Academy Status, not because of any playing ability or performances. I would hazard a guess that Horseman's tenure may be nearing its end.
  24. Think it was probably reasonable to rescind the red card. But not the pen. Red card is discretionary these days if I understand correctly.
  25. I think their MoM is based on viewer voting, not on any "expert" opinion, although having Broja MoM does sound more like something concocted between Lawro and Garth Crooks.
