Great defensive display to hang on for the point (which no one expected). Credit to KWP and Forster (never thought I'd say that), Bednarek and JWP. Thought Broja was going to nick it at the death. Now only bad side is KWP and Salisu out for Newcastle, what a silly boy Salisu was (though his first yellow was a mistake), complete la k of professionalism when you are already down to the bare bones at the back, let's hope Jack and Lyanco shake of Covid.
-
Their first he was at fault, completely lost the ball in flight. I don't always blame people for goals but his actions for the first goal were a fucking joke.
-
On the other hand shows that we were well shot of him. Last season indicated he was past his best.
-
Thought Tella was out with Covid, if he was out yesterday unlikely to be back tomorrow. You have to wonder who else will be out as well, Ralph giving nothing away in the Presser, but assume Jack and Lyanco will also still be out. Djenepo wasn't mentioned as out because of Covid, but wasn't in the squad. Reckon it could be quite random tomorrow who is available and who isn't.

Stuey involved and we win 🤔 Do we get 4 points in the points dropped from a winning position league? Nice win, thought when Antonio came on we were shagged, but didn't work out that way.
-
Frustrating isn't it. There really is nothing to be gained keeping these secrets these days, even assuming the opposition plans for our players availability or otherwise.
-
That's fine to say, but who would you have started instead, given the absences from the squad (assuming Armstrong is not fully back up to speed) WTH is going on with Stephens and now Lyanco, Covid? Having to put Simeu on the bench illustrates how we are once again stretched at CB.
-
Doubt very much Leicester will look at any of our players after the experience of last summer.
-
Potential vacancy opening up in the Championship with Coventry entering liquidation.
-
It'll end up P-Q.

Apparently it was due to Covid in the Cardiff camp, as it was last time. The CCLFC Chair contacted me on FB to let me know. Thought that was decent of her, so wished her the best. Why don't our club communicate? Not like it was anything unexpected.
-
Why is it that they don't say why the match was postponed? Wasn't the previous game v Cardiff also postponed, and also with no explanation.
-
You didn't, but you were talking about in the old days with reference to teams like Brentford and Southampton, you didn't mention pub teams. You were talking bollocks in the context of the post, you know it, but don't have the balls to admit it.
-
No, they didn't. They tried but they did not lose the 3 points to Blackburn, they were docked 3 points as well, as punishment, which ultimately saw them relegated (they would have stayed up if they had just conceded the game). It suggests this was done by the League to warn other clubs that trying this would result in a punishment rather than just forfeiting the game. So I go back to my original point that I don't believe anyone has merely forfeited a game in the professional leagues in England in living memory. JRM was just talking nonsense.
-
When was the last time that happened, even in "the old days", can't recall that happening in my lifetime in a professional game (and that does go back to "the old days").
-
Can only be good for us, we have so many injuries or walking wounded at the moment, McCarthy, Forster, Adams, Armstrong * 2 injured, Livramento (heavy strapping on thigh), Stephens, Broja clearly not 100% notwithstanding it would have been 3 days after the Palace game.
-
JWP should be taken off corners, Redmond and Smallbone demonstrated clearly that they were as good or better than JWP, and JWP would be more useful in the mix, or patrolling the D ready for a shot or to defend a break out. His FKs are fine, wouldn't change them, but it does no harm to mix them up occasionally.

You missed all 30 of his goals?
-
The 1st Arsenal goal (which ultimately swung the game and won it for them) was simply a superbly worked goal, you know sometimes it happens and a goal is scored because of excellent [play and not because anyone (at least in defence) has made a mistake. Second and third granted defensive/keeper howlers, but i don't think they cost us the game ultimately. We also had some excellent chances and Ramsdale made a number of very good saves (MOTD analysis focused on what a superb game he had).

No points today in the "points dropped from a winning position" league. Another positive.
-
Don't think Lewis has played for the Reserves, at least not much, he has been in the first team squad, presumably because he was considered good enough for the first team if push came to shove. If not why the fuck have we employed him the last few years. I really don't understand the way things are run these days at Saints.

It was Jan 21, the date was significant because as you say vaccinations had barely started. The data shows the effectiveness of the vaccine in reducing serious illness, as measured by hospital admissions. You are right, the actual number of infections is actually significantly higher than the official figure, which then suggests that the vaccination is even more effective than the crude measure would suggest.
-
Many of the responses reckon Vestegaard is worse. The phrase 'told you so' comes to mind.

You just need to look at the stats on the Covid Dashboard, specifically at the Healthcare stats for Patients admitted to Hospital. Running at about 800 [per day at the moment and has been reasonably stable for sometime. Meanwhile infections per day are around 48000 at the moment. There is a lag of between 1 -2 weeks between infection rate and hospitalisation so you can see a broad view of how many infections result in serious illness (serious enough to be admitted to hospital). Back in January there were about 60k cases per day at the peak and over 4000 hospital admissions, so you can see that this serious illness "measure" shows that currently the rate of admission is about 25% of what it was in January before the vaccination program began to ramp up. I don't think there is a stat for "feeling poorly" but to be honest "feeling poorly" is not really the issue. I "felt poorly" yesterday which I put down to reaction to my flu jab last weekend, feel OK today though (also got a neg LFT Covid test yesterday).

Guess you are about 10 years old if you think Leeds Utd is not a bigger club than Saints. Staggering.🤔
