What about Elyonoussi? Last week he wasn't in the squad because his partner had given birth to a baby. Wednesday when he came on as a sub they said he was on tenterhooks waiting for his partner to give birth. So has she had it yet? I'm not a great fan of Moi, but with Stuey out still he is probably our best bet in midfield and he is certainly a lot better than he used to be. What has happened to Djenepo? Can't figure out if Stephens is ready or not, he was supposed to be ready for Wednesday but didn't even make the bench, not confident relying on Lyanco, and with no other CB on the bench. Presumably we'll see the elusive Harry Lewis on the bench. 23 years old and 3 senior appearances, the last nearly 4 years ago. What a waste. Hopefully Ralph will give Tino a rest and go with KWP in his best position, and Perraud on the left (from what I've seen he is decent defensively just seems to lack the abiility to get a decent cross in). Take JWP off of corner duty and let someone who seems able to put a decent corner in take them instead (Redmond (am I really saying that) or even Smallbone. I hope Ralph goes: McCarthy, KWP, Stephens, Salisu, Perraud, Romeu, JWP, Smallbone, Redmond, Adams, Broja (but I suspect he won't). Really need something good to happen this weekend.

Actually having him at LB as you suggest might be a good idea, because KWP is much better at RB that Tino currently is. The kid is undoubtedly a huge talent, but to play him at RB every game instead of KWP is really dumb. Playing KWP at LB is OK, but his attacking efforts are limited, compared to when he plays on the right. That said KWP made one or two glaring errors last night.

Really? 🤔

7 up against Ilminster.

Anyone know if any more WAGS are due to produce? That's Redmond and Moi missing games due to becoming Dads, really the Club need to manage this situation better, footballers should plan these things so that they don't happen during the season. Missing so many AMs yesterday must have been a factor in Ralph's ridiculous team selection/tactics.
-
Look on the bright side, at least we won't be racking up points in the "points dropped from a winning position" league.
-
No one questioning where our midfield has gone. No Moi, no Djenepo (obv knew about Stu). As I said at the time not really a lot of point listening to the Pressers 2 days before.
-
It would explain a lot.
-
Not sure we can really rely on these quotes from Ralph. Last week everyone was good to go, then Redders, Stu and Djenepo didn't make it. Not saying he was telling porkies, but the delay between the presser and the match is such that really they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Perhaps because Klopp and Gaurdiola are multi millionaires as well.
-
Possibly also his 4 England U18 caps, 5 U16 and 4 Dutch Youth Caps.

Actually Romeu does (or at least did have the pace). Can't remember which game it was last season but his chase back to make a last ditch saving tackle was one of the best defensive moments of the season for any team, and his pace to do that was electrifying. Possibly he hasn't got that top speed back yet after his injury last season, but Romeu does have pace in him. His passing is also not frequently off-target. And if you don't think he's a hard man then it must be because you are comparing him with Jimmy case, who wouldn't last 5 minutes in today's game, though even he was a complete pussy compared with Brian O'Neil or Jim McGrath. The days of him picking up yellow cards nearly every game are also long behind him.

He didn't play in the 1970 WC, guess you mean 1966. He never played for England again after the Mexico match in the group stages. He was the first England international wearing the No 7 shirt to score a hat-trick at Wembley (but not the first to score a hat trick for England, that was Sir Stanley Matthews).

Under English Law there is apparently no offence of attempted manslaughter, but the report is referring to Dutch Law, where such an offence might exist, not forgetting that there could be something lost in translation, BBC Journalism is not what it once was, it could easily be a mistake.

Not a Monty Python fan then.

Did we play a weakened side, seems odd to only win by a single goal against a team in the lower reaches of Tier 4?
-
He could refuse if Chelsea have other options in his position, i.e. if he doesn't see actually getting in the first team. Similarly Chelsea may not want to buy him back if they have sufficient depth already. I think also that were we to try to sell him next summer Chelsea have some sort of recourse, even though the buy-back clause does not otherwise kick-in for 2 years.

Could be one of the shortest managerial reigns ever, when he moves to Liverpool after Klopp is sacked for losing to Saints.
-
The Article goes on to say "Southampton youngster Tino Livramento maintained his ascent in the rankings after another impressive display in a 1-0 victory against Aston Villa." I think you can take it from that that these stats are basically a load of bollox or at least whoever penned the article has no clue.

Random Ex- Academy Player Transfer News no-one will care about...
VectisSaint replied to The9's topic in The Saints
Bristol Rovers would have been his nearest league club when he was born (they played in Bath). Swindon is also technically not in Wiltshire these days. But I jest, I live in Wiltshire, well aware of the County Town, I guess by your user name that you do as well, or at least did at some point. Trowbridge was definitely very much in the catchment area of the Saints Satellite Academy in Bath, but I can't find any evidence that Turnbull was ever connected with the Bath site, it seems like he was recruited to Southampton directly from Swindon. 🙂 -
There is, on Sunday, but not sure he would be eligible for the Women's team.

Random Ex- Academy Player Transfer News no-one will care about...
VectisSaint replied to The9's topic in The Saints
Went to Swindon on loan about the same time as Jack Stephens, a few days after Les Reed had come out and said that our philosophy was not to send players out on loan. Turnbull is from Trowbridge by the way (same as Nathan Dyer), not sure that makes Swindon his home club although it was where he started as a youth player before he joined Saints Academy. -
Followed by Klopp sacking (can but hope) 😂
