can't agree with the RL part 2 bit TBH Nick. They have said they will make funds available (more than RL) they also purchased the club (again more money than RL ever put in). Obviously I'd like to see a bit more activity bringing in players but I'm sure its not like going to Tesco's and turning up in the Center Back aisle. More concerned that AP hasn't brought in any of his own backroom staff TBH. At the end of the day - AP is a very experienced manager which leads me to believe he knows what he's doing - I'm happy with that for the time being.

Is that more than he's scored for them where it matters - in the prem?

Probably why he hasn't signed the contract thats been offered by SFC.

Probably something to do with them being by appointment to Her Majesty I would have thought.

LOL - So Pestwood hasn't got one yet I assume, as it doesn't fit any of those categories.

MS - Quality player. Has been hamstrung by last season with no clear direction for him (IMHO). He will come good but not sure if that will be with us.

I'll agree we need 5/6 new faces but I still say that its not easy to get those 5/6 players (with or without the money) in in time for the start of the season. We are on the back foot at the mo' but I believe by the time the transfer window closes he will have recruited what he requires.

I see what your saying and I agree in the main however, if Pardew doesn't aim high then he would be pilloried on here. I think the type of players that you are alluding too will be brought in but I don't think they will be "big name" players as I personally think that type of player will not come to play in the league we are in. I'm sure the money is there but as with everything these things take time. Granted we do not have the time due to the protracted take over but that does not mean that Pardew cannot achieve what he has set out to do.

And going on results he's right a "functional" squad would have kept us up.

My ambition is to see Saints play in the Champions league (if not win it) my expectations.........thats a different story and is based on many many factors. eg Manager, League position, squad, -10 points etc etc.

Simple really, ML wants us to run as a business on its own two feet. If your costs out weight your income then your fooked.
