I don't think you will find many that disagree with most of that but if it happens then there is not much we can do. I still think he has a massive role to play - but I am not CEO and loyalty is for fans not financial driven businessmen. I am not normally one who looks for messages from the club about transfer rumours - in this case it would be an exception given Ricky holding with the fans or shall I say customers.

Exactly my thoughts - not for one minute do I want Ricky sold but it wouldnt surprise me one bit anymore. Our chairman has shown he is ruthless and doesn't do fans niceties. If selling Ricky means its right in his eyes he will sell. I still haven't gotten over us selling one of my heroes in Brian O'Neil ;-)

We are just waiting for the Ricky to Blackburn deal to be clinched so we can use that money for Penarol.

I think thats mainly due to Sky and the money involved in the game now. Clubs are far richer , players can earn far more and there is something in the game now that wasn't so prevailant then......leeches otherwise known as agents.

I remember watching Shearer and Maddison play in Steve Mills RIP testimonal game at The Dell. Chris nicholl took out Shearer who got up and thumped in the free kick - I knew then he would be special. I was at Staplewood and Gareth Bale was playing - it was obvious Bale would make it and was special.

Sorry that is not a reaction to one home game...its been apparent to me since we got promoted that our defence and lack of pace would see us struggle and so far it has. The fact we haven't addressed that is not bed wetting its a fact. We have 5 days left to address that and now we are being linked with some defenders and hopefully finally can add a bit of quality will see us fine. At times on Saturday we looked decent up to where it mattered that gives me hope if we can recruit the above. If that does make me all happy and clappy then I can live with that.

No sh1t Sherlock the Prem is tough...what a load of patronising ****** as usual from you. What most on here are saying is that we are close to having a side that can compete yet we haven't addressed that despite every man and Saints dog seeing it. Thats not bedwetting thats is a fact. We can compete , we will get stuffed at times, we will beat one of the top 6 occasionally but at the moment we are not equipped to do that.

I agree with that...we played Ok first half until it got to where that mattered and then run out of ideas or ability to execute them. Everything we did was in front of them and never once got in behind - all our shots were from distance and Premiership keepers like El Habsi will save those.

When we got relegated in 2005 it was absolutely gutting and took me weeks to get accustomed to it, I enjoyed the last 2 seasons immensely, went to some great grounds and met some great fans. If we go down again this time I certainly wouldn't be that bothered....why....because we are nowhere near being ready to compete in this league. Last week when you watch the replays City could of been out of sight, we played well but had nothing to lose yet got beaten by terrible defending. Yesterday we got shown up at times by Wigan who we couldn't get near the ball for about ten minutes. Every fan knows our defence and pace was our problem...we sign a £6m striker yet play him left wing like a fish on a bike. I thought at times we looked ok but unless this week we recruit 2 decent defenders and a pacey winger we will see loads of games like yesterday. We had all of pre-season....we have 5 days left. So at the moment you are right but the management have the opportunity to stop that and wasting weeks chasing average S Americans hasn't helped us in the slightest.

Yep it is...comical - we went to Tenerife that had a fantastic beach everything you could want about 15 minutes away. Fantastic waves, spotlessly clean, beer €1.50 a pint, tea bar but no the numpties used to queue up from 9 am to wait until the sun beds were unlocked at 9.30 the pool opened at 10. You should of seen the scrambles and jostling that went on - I used to stand and laugh at them from my balcony. We never used the pool once and the thought of being sat there surrounded by uncouth Geordies, Glaswegians, Scousers arguing because the kids were squabbling because they were bored fills me with dread. There was even a punch up between 2 mothers apparently that had to be separated by the lifeguard.

Yep I get that but...if a replacement is easy to find for the money we are paying is it really that good a deal for us? Wouldn't we be better spending this on the likes of Phillips, Curtis Davis, Caulker?

Well if it means we can keep Shaw and bring him through quicker then I think we will be fine. Worst case scenario we have to give Dickson a squad number ....if we can.
