  1. When we got relegated in 2005 it was absolutely gutting and took me weeks to get accustomed to it, I enjoyed the last 2 seasons immensely, went to some great grounds and met some great fans. If we go down again this time I certainly wouldn't be that bothered....why....because we are nowhere near being ready to compete in this league. Last week when you watch the replays City could of been out of sight, we played well but had nothing to lose yet got beaten by terrible defending. Yesterday we got shown up at times by Wigan who we couldn't get near the ball for about ten minutes. Every fan knows our defence and pace was our problem...we sign a £6m striker yet play him left wing like a fish on a bike. I thought at times we looked ok but unless this week we recruit 2 decent defenders and a pacey winger we will see loads of games like yesterday. We had all of pre-season....we have 5 days left. So at the moment you are right but the management have the opportunity to stop that and wasting weeks chasing average S Americans hasn't helped us in the slightest.
  2. £3m of parachute money @S13SFC & £1.5m in season ticket sales that's released in chunks after each home game PKF has already got a valuation @croydonpompey £3m, BC said £10m! Players won't budge until there's only 1 game in town
  3. BBC Sport ‏@BBCSport Breaking news: Wigan have accepted a bid from Chelsea for Victor Moses and given the player permission to speak to the club. #bbcfootball
  4. Matt Slater ‏@mattslaterbbc Birch/FL would love 2 sell 2 PST but are worried about the fans' ability 2 get over the line financially. Chainrai not helping... ..sticking to his £18m claim, thinks FP is worth £10m, won't consider rental deal & is whispering sweet nothings to Kanu, TBH & co Matt Slater ‏@mattslaterbbc The good news is BC doesn't want 2 buy & fears liquidation. A deal can b done & there's £4.5m in cash/ticket revs in the business I am not sure thats good news...
  5. Yep it is...comical - we went to Tenerife that had a fantastic beach everything you could want about 15 minutes away. Fantastic waves, spotlessly clean, beer €1.50 a pint, tea bar but no the numpties used to queue up from 9 am to wait until the sun beds were unlocked at 9.30 the pool opened at 10. You should of seen the scrambles and jostling that went on - I used to stand and laugh at them from my balcony. We never used the pool once and the thought of being sat there surrounded by uncouth Geordies, Glaswegians, Scousers arguing because the kids were squabbling because they were bored fills me with dread. There was even a punch up between 2 mothers apparently that had to be separated by the lifeguard.
  6. Well as Oyston won't answer our calls Ollie has changed his mobile number I guess an email might get through ;-)
  7. Yep I get that but...if a replacement is easy to find for the money we are paying is it really that good a deal for us? Wouldn't we be better spending this on the likes of Phillips, Curtis Davis, Caulker?
  8. So that sets alarm bells ringing surely..why is he so keen to get rid?
  9. Can I negotiate that....how about 3 days up front then 2 days the next week then 1 ...
  10. I am a no....my forfeit either: 1. Take Dalek off ignore - the only one I have 2. Drink a pint of Saints Ale on Saturday
  11. Well if it means we can keep Shaw and bring him through quicker then I think we will be fine. Worst case scenario we have to give Dickson a squad number ....if we can.
  12. Well they are also selling Bassong to Norwich
  13. But there is not a Saints fan alive that doesn't realise the defence is our achilles heel...Adkins knows it as well. Poor defending cost us and I cannot believe we will not recruit a defender before the window closes - I would of liked it weeks ago but hey our targets never came off or we wouldn't pay what was asked. Great performance. very proud but disappointed with the goals conceded.
  14. I'll give you a few reasons IMO why: The club has lost its customer service values it had recently and gone from family orientated to just trying to make money. In the junior membership they used to attach a few vouchers for free games - that bought in a few extra lads and dads not this year they got a cheap watch that broke very quickly. Food and beer used to be reasonable - now £4 for a Marstons and £5:50 for a cheeseburger, how can you justify £5 for a cheese and onion pasty...not that I would buy one anyway :-) costly for all day and longer CB40 matches. Recently there was a game rained off after 2.5 hours - fans that paid cash had to write in for a refund....the club kept £3 to cover postage as no refunds available on the day...is that a way to treat cash payers? I love going but this season things have changed from previous seasons and that shows in the gates they are getting.
  15. Hahhah this is brilliant: "It was a good ball that got Pietersen, pitching middle-and-leg and hitting off stump," said BBC Sport's Steve May. "But it was greeted as though Southampton had won the Champions League and the FA Cup at the same time - 50- and 60-year-old people standing up and cheering with their arms in the air." Pietersen, 32, left Hampshire in acrimonious circumstances in 2010 having played rarely for them after breaking into the England Test team in 2005.
  16. Why don't you read what he actually posted before going all high and mighty?
  17. Is that Rocky 3 for the good hiding.....don't worry he beats him again later and the giant Russian...oops sorry Russians are a sore subject aren't they.
  18. Think he may be looking at a big ban after today - you can't touch an official like that and get away with it. Same ban as Prutton did the same thing.
  19. Cheers Tim....Swansea, Fulham and WBA certainly got off to flyers and our start is pretty horrendous and we will be playing catch up but its a long season....just need a bloody defence!!
  20. I was quite impressed with Caulker at Team GB, dominant and decent passer as well.
  21. 18th with our current squad. I think we could finish mid table with 2-3 quality players more
  22. Good news and to clarify I wasn't saying he is a bad player..just at the moment I can't see past our poor defence and the shortage of quality in those positions. A team is built on its defence you start at the back and build your quality from there ...we haven't as yet and I don't understand why not.
  23. I would rather have 3 defenders and Matt Phillips. Watched Ramirez v Team GB at Cardiff didn't stand out or look anything special at all.
  24. Really? I disagree about a few things there and I certainly am no Lowe Luvvie. It wasn't Lowe that bought on Calum Davenport to play against the bully Carlton Cole, it wasn't Lowe that put in Brett Ormerod instead of Kevin Phillips. It wasn't Lowe that put out young kids in a league cup game and slaughtered them the next day a side where most of that team got thrashed in a reserve game the week before. Something isn't right...4 days to go and the main area that needs strengthening hasn't been addressed...why not as every fan, local media, ex player, ex manager etc etc thinks it.
  25. Bale, Walcott, Oxlade-Chambelain, Blackstock, Best, Matt Mills whoooo!!
