They sell mountain dew at Sainsburies again now, just dress it up as an energy drink. Can't help you with the others I'm afraid.

That's a 22 man squad, what do you expect a 45 man squad ala Man City? As for pace we might not have any 'sprinters' this season but we have Dickson, Puncheon, Connolly, Barnard, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lallana who aren't exactly slow. Not really sure how we have a lack of plan B either, we played 4-5-1 and 4-4-2 in equal measures last season and Pardew showed on several occasions he could change games with his subs. Look at the triple sub against Yeovil, three strikers brought on with one of them playing right back despite being down to ten men, results in a last minute winner.

Maybe the players just aren't out there? Not point spunking 500k on a player we would have to replace in 12 months. We've signed three very good players, if we can add Carter and someone like Waigo, Antonio or Tyson before the end of the window I'll be chuffed. Adding a central midfielder and a winger/striker to the squad and we would have two (quality) players for each position. GK - Davis - Bart DR - Richardson - Butterfield DL - Harding - Dickson - Mills DC - Fonte - Jaidi - Seaborne - Martin - Butterfield MR - Puncehon - Oxo-Chamblerlain ML - Lallana - Mills - Tyson? MC - Schneiderlin - Hammond - Carter? - Butterfield SC - Lambert - Connolly - Banard - Tyson? Any more than that and we would end up with upset players, too many new players needing to gel etc. Settled sides when leagues.

I must be the only one looking forward to the JPT this year. Would be pretty special if we could retain the trophy, hopefully a few away trips along the way - getting the easy St Marys draw every time was a bit dull last season.

Why would he retire? Doesn't really make sense, if there was some sort of reason he'd just do it now surely.

Friday - Pub, probably head to the Malvern or something, not sure yet. Saturday - Got to paint the front of a house in Portswood, have worked all but three weekends since the season finished, will be nice to go back to normal next week. Doubt I'll do anything in the evening, might go for a run just to get out the house. Sunday - Should hopefully finish the painting then on the lash in town, probably head to Bedfords or Cricketers, anywhere really. Fairly dull weekend I predict around a 5/10.

It was no worse than any other away game last year, infact I thought it was a fairly decent atmosphere. Nice to have a bit of noise from the home fans for a change.

Aldershot away would be fun.

04 - Homelands 05 - Homelands, Global 06 - Hi-Fi, Global 07 - Reading, Global 08 - Glastonbury, Wireless 09 - Glastonbury, Fatboy Slim Beach Party 10 - Wireless Highlight was probably the 09 Glasto. Hoping to do Glasto again next year, although I'm thinking about going inter-railing and doubt i'd do both.

Yeah it was pretty mental, not been anything like that for a while. Regret not making a weekend of it now...

The funniest thing from that game was when the young lad (probably 8-9 or so) lumped the police woman who was trying to calm him down after his Dad got chucked out. I don't think anyone watching was expecting it at all.

That was you? I remember Blackpool far too well, infact one of only a handfull of games over the last couple of years where I was stupid enough to drive. Being surrounded by that many ****ed up blokes when you're stone cold sober isn't much fun.

I agree we can lack a couple of attacking players, getting those two back would be perfect. I am hoping Oxlade-Chamberlain will step up this season but we could still do with one more wide player and a midfielder probably Carter. -
I don't think I've ever seen any real trouble or aggro at a game, probably been to about 55 aways over the last couple of seasons and around 10 a season for the five or six seasons before that. The police do seem to go way ott with us on occasions, Milwall last season in particular was a joke. I think the 'cat c' reputation must come from the sheer amount of people who get slaughtered at our games - stand outs that I can remember Blackpool 08-09, Southend 08-09, Orient 09-10 and pretty much every trip to Charlton, Milwall etc. I doubt it's down to the sort of numbers we take, in the season before last there still seemed to be a massive amount of policing and we didn't really travel very well that season...

Downbeat? all of my southampton supporting friends can't wait for the season to kick off again. We have replaced Ostemebor with Richardson which is a huge improvement, Lloyd James with Butterfirld which gives us a far more experienced utility player and we've bought in Dickson to give Harding and Lallana competition, all of this on top of what looked like a side that could hold it's own at the top end of the CCC. Signing players for the sake of it will only lead to players getting ****ed off, not being able to gel properly and all the **** that goes with it. Settled teams win leagues. -
That was my mate, he didn't call him a ****** tbf. Although the ***** was happy enough to tell me he'd see me take me outside and break my legs. Thought it was quite a decent game, shame there where so few first team players involved.

Now I have to stay up for an extra hour or so great. -
If it's really making you that angry maybe you should go do something else for a while

I can't think of a more boring friendly than home against Reading.
-
I shall be there, quite looking forward to this one. Going on the Northern line rather than overground to high Barnet.

If we can get Tyson and at the same time get rid of some of the ****e like Holmes or Gobern we'd be laughing. -
