  1. I can't see him taking Bent. Why would he take Bent when he already has Defoe and Walcott who do a similar job and only take Crouch as a target man. I know Heskey isn't everyone's cup of tea but we scored a shed load of goals in qualifying playing Rooney off a target man for 60 minutes and then bringing on Defoe as an impact sub, I can't see us changing that too much now. Also think you've probably included too many wide players, I think one of them probably Joe Cole will miss out for a central midfielder probably Huddlestone or Carrick. Other than those two I think you're spot on.
  2. I honestly can't believe anyone could be that stupid.
  3. I think a lot of our transfer dealings will depend on how Pardew wants to shape the team next season and the season after when we will hopefully be in the Championship. I think his long term plan is 4-5-1 so I wouldn't be suprised to see an attacking midfielder like Danns bought in as well as another player who likes to pass the ball out from the back like Stock. Those two as well as Hammond, Schneiderlin and Puncheon would give us a very strong central midfield 3 rotation if we are going to play 4-5-1. I don't think it's any coincedence that we where linked with Stock and Danns so strongly in January. If we aren't still looking at them now we will be looking at players who play similar midfield roles. I really can't see us signing the hard tackling midfield brute some of you want, I think Hammond and to an extent Schneiderlin do that job well enough.
  4. I'm not his biggest fan either. Would much rather see Connolly alongsider Lambert or hopefully 4-5-1 next season, Barnard is a decent option from the bench IMO but nothing more. Laughable that anyone thinks Barnard is better now than Omerod was for us at the same age, some short memories.
  5. Which player did we sign for £300,000 from French side Marsielle in 1998?
  6. Crossley for Sheff Wednesday on loan from Fulham. had to use Wiki to check who he was on loan from ...
  7. http://en.mcdonalds.fantasy.fifa.com/M/home.mc Think that's probably going to be the best free to play game.
  8. Who was the Southampton player of the season in 2005? good at answering these but I'm usually rubbish with thinking of questions!
  9. Peter Crouch needs six more goals to reach the top ten England goal scorers of all time. Will overtake Keegan and Channon soon.
  10. I think the Champions League is 22 so it shouldn't be a problem. Also I assume there will be some period in the season where you can unregister a player from the 25 and add new ones, probably in January.
  11. Eight players in a squad of 25 have to have played in England for three years before there 21st b/day. Pointless rule since 8 in 25 is nothing really, doesn't even have to be homegrown to the club they're playing for and don't have to be English.
  12. What a strange question. Can tell it's the close season.
  13. Poor in comparison. Thomas had a few complete shockers as well.
  14. No it's the other way round, our RB's have looked poor because Harding had such a superb season and he's really a Championship full back playing a level below.
  15. If this lad is better than Mills then sign him up and shift Mills off to the highest bidder. We've got to to be ruthless if we're going to get to the places Leibherr and Cortese want us to achieve. It's fairly obvious we're going to be scouting and monitoring all sorts of players at the moment, just because we aren't being linked to right backs every morning doesn't mean Pardew and his team aren't tracking a few.
  16. It's a shocking decision. Just like with any DRM I will now boycott their games and actively try to get them for free. **** you EA. It's a shame because Fifa WC is a brilliant game.
  17. It really wasn't, we lacked a dominating centre back to partner Baird and we lacked a midfielder who could take games by the scruff of the neck against the real top teams in the league. Jones and Bale apart it was fairy average, those two dragged us through so many games.
  18. Never bought and name & number, so can't say. Looks like you just write it all in that box though, seems fairly straight forward.
  19. Fair enough, I was only half watching while putting up some blinds, I only really turned round to the screen everytime I heard his name.
  20. I think it's just because he plays a lot deeper for us, earlier in the season when we played 4-5-1 with Wotton, Schneiderlin and Hammond in the middle Schneiderlin was pushed up in a similar sort of role and came very close to scoring a few times. He would have scored away against Southend if he wasn't hacked down in the box (should have been a pen) then he had a terrible miss away at Oldham when pretty much anyone on the pitch would have scored. Can see him getting a few for us next season now he's got the confidence to take up those positions and ask for the ball.
  21. The left winger with the yellow boots looks pretty handy
