People shouldn't think it's a given that we will beat Watford, these are the sort of games we should win if we have aspirations of being in the Prem but they have only lost one game at home in the league since October (to Reading) and have had some pretty impressive wins. I can see us drawing this then and winning away at the likes of Hull and 'brough. I think we will hold out for a tight 3-2 win though.

The big game here is Barnsley V Brum. That's the one where I really want the home team to win. I don't think 'brough will have enough to really challenge for top two but would still be nice to see them drop points. Blackpool V West Ham - I'd like Blackpool to win to see the WHU fans start squirming but a draw would be a good result what with Blackpool creeping up. Even a West Ham win does us a favour so any result here could help us.

Hmm, do we really want to let sentimentality really get in the way of winning things and striving to get to the top? I don't think so, some of the players that were there when we were at our lowest have helped us get out of the poop but unfortunately they might not be up for it in the Prem (if/when we get there). The players that have been with us on the journey will get a decent try out in the Prem if they're good enough, if they're not then we thank them for helping us to get where we are then we go our seperate ways. There won't be a massive cull at any rate, we know from experience that Adkins will only let 2 or 3 drift off and bring the same amount in with better quality. Cortese won't want us to the Prem and then maybe undo all that hard work by playing the players that were doing it in league 1 just for sentimental purposes, and thankfully you definitely won't here him saying to play them even if it means relegation. Surely it's a lot more important to stay in the top league than play some players that aren't good enough just bacause theyve been with us for a while. I'm afraid each season is a different chapter and we shouldn't let feelings get too much in the way off achieving things.

That thread cracks me up, "Sharp was puched in the chest in that picture and he fell down so the hand went up to his throat!" Also going on about Sharp cheating a lot but funnily enough there was no mention of the fact that Noble got a penalty from cheating as Sharp didn't touch him and Sharp was well within his right to be annoyed at the fact that the ref gave a pen.

We'll batter them about 4 nil.

I think the loan window opens today. Be interesting to see if we do dip into it anytime soon, if Jos is close to a return then maybe the shout for a centre back will die down. Who thinks we should dip into it and what positions do we need, especially those out there who think our squad isn't up to it to get us promotion who can we get in on loan that can help us out? The rumour was that Collins would be coming in when the window opened, not sure if there are any other rumours doing the rounds.

He's on loan at Blackburn, all loanees are stated as out of contract this year as that's when their contract with the loan club is up. Very useful for contract info but agree with the estimated value - Lallana at £875k...

Not sure how true this site is but looks pretty good. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/spieler/vertragsende/basics.html

For Punch on the right wing see De Ridder...
-
If Chappers is fit I can't see him starting, neither can I see Punch starting as he'll be a bit short of match fitness so I reckon those two will be on the bench ready to come on in the last half an hour. ------------------DAVIS---------------- FRAZER-----FONTE-----MARTIN-----FOX PUNCH----HAMMOND-----CORK---LALLANA ------------------GULY----------------- ----------------LAMBERT--------------- Subs: Bart, Harding, Morgan, Chappers, Lee Doing the subs is hard work

Yeah, must be Saints' fault.

I've still got a feeling we'll bring someone in from leftfield, someone we haven't thought of. Whoever it is I hope it can give us all and the players a lift. First off though I hope a nice easy loan of a centre back (Collins) comes to fruition today ready to be thrown straight in tomorrow.

Brozek Seems like a replacement for Hooper by the sounds of it... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11787/7464762/Lennon-confirms-Brozek-capture

Which tells me even more that they're bringing him in for cover for someone who might be off...

Why do you have doubts he's the best person to be in charge? Who do you think should be in charge?

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..
Saint_Ash replied to SB's topic in The Saints
True, why should we be ambitious and try and get players that will improve our team. Let's think like you and try and sign mediocre players that won't improve our first team, pointless transfers if you will. I'm glad our team show a lot more ambition and backbone than a lot of our fans. -
Expunging Poopy's points would have us sitting proudly at the top of the table by two points. We'd have 1 point removed, West Ham 6 and Cardiff 4. So 2 points in the lead with Cardiff 4 points behind. That would be a result!

It's also mentioned in this match report in the Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2090798/Southampton-0-Leicester-2-Saints-suffer-title-blow.html "To that end, Adkins wants to pep up his attacking options and he will bid £1.85million for Doncaster's Billy Sharp, who is also a Reading target."

Funny! You can place bets for him to score with 12 bookies! Get on 13/2, it's the best price!

4-2 Every time, I want to be entertained at a football match and 6 goals is always better than 2, I enjoy the thrill of watching the team win especially if they have to up a gear at some point in the game. Jumping around 4 times is better than twice (this is where people come and say being disappointed no times is better than twice) Overall winning 4-2 doesn't give you any more points than winning 2-0 so why not enjoy the more goals.
