It's in the title, so don't moan that you haven't been warned. I know it's been done before, but it just struck me that he might be the kind of player we need in midfield alongside Morgan. I know opinion on Prutts is divided on here, but we could do with a hard working, no nonsense box to box midfielder in that mould. Not a great passer, but we've always looked better for having him in the team IMO. At the very least, surely he's a better option than Wotton if we're defending a lead and need to beef up the midfield. *Please no "the past is the past FFS!" type comments, it's a hypothetical question.

Cultural humour which isn't racially offensive. Perhaps there is hope for this forum after all...

The problem is that people take the present to be the norm all the time. Billionaire takes over - We're going to spend big and win the League Poor start to the season - We are stuck in another relegation fight Great run of early winter form - The playoffs look highly likely We sign more player in January - Anyone who thinks we wont make a playoff spot is a negative budgie. We draw in a tough away match to playoff opposition - Playoff chances gone, even the odd murmur of relegation. We just have to accept that our form will fluctuate. The playoffs are unlikely and always have been. I said that before we went to Leeds, I'm saying it now and I will still be saying it if we win the next 5 games. They are a target, but shouldn't be the yardstick for success this season.

Pompey have already taken over Saga, there's a thread in the Lounge.

Aagh, I don't know. Telfer or Golac. Long day, early start. :smt015

I've heard you like Dogging wearing your Burka. As for your second point, my Granny used to knit me terrible jumpers when I was about five. They were old fasioned and I was forced to swear them, but they weren't outlawed. I don't think these women SHOULD wear Burkas, but surely they should be given the choice.
-
Nope. Saw we'd drawn, read a bit of the reaction thread, missed that though. Ah well, stick James in instead.
-
Maybe they're really ugly Caucasian women. Or possibly people like Dog with unusual hobbies.
-
Bart James Thomas Fonte Harding Waigo Hammond Morgan Holmes Lallana Lambert IMO

Comes out their 'eyehole' when they fart.

Bit of a stupid policy to come up with. There's no reason why women shouldn't be allowed to wear Burkas if they want. In a job as part of their uniform is a different matter, but in the own time they can wear what they want. As long as it's not a Pompey shirt. It appears Farage is after some of the voters towards the authoritarian end of the political compass, perhaps trying to steal some of the BNP supporters who have more moderate and/or right wing views.

Wotton is a good leader, pro and role model. He is however a very limited footballer, well past his somewhat average best. HCDAJF an average, midtable L1 side, but if we want to move beyond that we need someone better. I think out problem is not having a settled midfield. We keep changing between 4-4-2 and 4-5-1, meaning James, Wotton, Waigo, Antonio and now Holmes are in and out. I think we should play 4-4-2 all the time, with a midfield of Holmes - Hammond - Morgan - Waigo. I'm not convince by Holmes and would like a new LW. Also I don't think we're getting the best out of Lallana on the wing. He hasn't scored in 8 games now, and I'm sure Saga will have warned him about the online riots if that stretches beyond 10.

This kind of bi-polar attitude is beginning to get on my tits. Before we played Leeds and had something like 10 wins in 13, everyone was convinced we were the best team in the League and pretty much took a playoff spot as given. Now after a couple of defeats away to team in the top four, and a draw at Millwall, it's doom and gloom again. To make the playoffs, with a 10 point deduction and after a poor start, we basically need League winning form. This with a squad which is essentially being built as we go. Another reality which a few people seem to have bypassed is that League 1 is worse than The Championship. You just don't get pretty football. Sure some teams like Leeds play better stuff than others, but they're the exception rather than the norm.

Not quite sure what you're expecting from our 'keepers, but both are easily CCC quality, Kelvin even has a couple of seasons in the Prem under his belt. Unless one of them leaves, we're fine between the sticks. But Bart had the place before the cup game, so surely HE deserves to keep his place? Doubt it. Was signed in CCC as a teenager, so is all but a youth product. Hasn't done much since then to earn particularly lucrative terms.

He's just p*ssed off that three billygoats gruff keep walking over his bridge.

I know the feeling, tend to happen a lot. Joined one game earlier and the opposing team was just one great big clan. Should have just quit then and cut my losses. Instead I played on and let's just say our team lost.

Vote UKIP. Sensible policies for Britains future. Nah, just kidding. They're all sh*te.

Bart for me. Absolutely nothing against Davis, he is a great 'keeper and I'd be happy to have him in the team. Bart however has done nothing to deserve being dropped and was in great form until he was dropped for the cup match. I was happy to see him playing well after his drop in form under Burley and getting a lot of undeserved stick on here.

Should be around for a game in about half an hour if anyone's about. Got a massive shoulder of lamb all to myself.

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
Arizona replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
The difference being that Waigo turns 26 on Wednesday and has just over 6 years on Antonio. Don't get me wrong, I think Waigo is the better player as it is, but if we're talking in terms of potential Antonio may be the better permanent signing. Don't forget Antonio had only been training with a proffesional club for a year before joining Saints. I have nothing against Tooting and Mitcham, but I wouldn't compare their youth development programme to Arsenal or Man Utd. -
TAR-21 with Bling, Lightweight, Ninja, shotgun and red dot attachments seems to be working.

Burley for QPR?
-
Souey, Jones, Hoddle, Gray, WGS, Sturrock, Wigley, Redknapp, Burley, Pearson, Poortaloo, WTF. That's 12 managers under Lowe if I'm not mistaken (not including brief stints in charge from Wise and Wigley the first time). So he's had more managers, but not quite in the same time scale.

He did score three on his first three starts AFTER he had signed permanently. Despite this, he hardly got into the team, getting thrown on with 10 minutes to go, and even in the 2nd minute of injury time once.
