Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

These players will be off imo: Forecast, Jaidi (retiring), Dean (according to MLG), Dickson, Seaborne, Holmes, Doble, Forte, Puncheon, Connolly, Barnard, Hoskins Either through not being good enough or probably wanting to move and get more first-team football. Would be sad to see Barny go but I think he'll want a fresh start and to be playing regularly. That would be 11 off the squad, leaving us with: GK: Davis, Bialkowski RB: Richardson, Butterfield, Stephens (U21) LB: Fox, Harding, Shaw (U21) CB: Fonte, Hooiveld, Martin RM: Chaplow, De Ridder LM: Lallana CM: Cork, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Reeves (U21), Ward-Prowse (U21) ST: Lambert, Sharp, Lee, Guly That means we would have 19 players over the age of 21 (in August 2012) in our squad, meaning they would have to be registered. That leaves us with 6 spots up for grabs for players over the age of 21. -

Zaha is a massive w4nker. Unless NA could get him under control then I want him kept well away from this club! GK: Craig Gordon, Kasper Schmeichel RB: Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Matthews CB: Curtis Davies, Richard Stearman CM: Graham Dorrans, Steven Davis RM: Lee Chung-Yong, Michael Kightly ST: Jay Rodriguez, Johnny Russell All realistic signings, not too expensive and would add something to the squad. Your meat-and-drink type of squad players. 3 or 4 of them and 1 or 2 marquee signings would set us up perfectly imo. -
Depends on the player and the position. I reckon we'll get 5-6 players (including young players like we did with Stephens, Gallagher etc), spending circa £16m in the process. Can't see NC or NA wanting to pay massive amounts for players that we're not desperate for.

DJ: Would you like to be England manager? NA: One day.. [long, awkward pause] NA: ...isn't there a film called One Day? Great to see Nige is committed to this club, best manager we've had in such a long, long time.

I would love anywhere between 10th-15th. Personally i'm going to go for 12th.
-
Ask me again when i'm sober.
-
It was brilliant watching him trying to join in with the rest of the team in singing the songs post-match, his expression was part glee, part confusion! Think the only word he managed to get right was Southampton!
-
Apparently we had scouts watching PSV vs Feyenoord today. Somebody put on Twitter that we're after Dirk Marcellis/Marten Maartens.
-
Brilliant atmosphere in the pub! My hangover is coming on quickly though...

This. In great voice for the whole game and not a bad turnout considering the distance to travel, the fact they were already relegated and the early start to get to SMS from Cov for 12.30! Met a few Cov fans outside Yates in town and wished them luck and well done on supporting their team.

Thought the flare looked brilliant! All I could see in a sea of heads was the flare and Corky bobbing up and down (no pun intended) on peoples shoulders. All a bit of fun ffs!
-
Without Markus, there would be no Southampton FC. We owe him everything. When I was waiting for the players to come out onto the balcony to celebrate after the game I looked up at the sky and a smile spread across my face at the thought of Markus looking down and taking pictures of it all! Rest in peace big man, and I hope you get to see the big times we've got coming!
-
Guly and Morgan were brilliant for me today. Morgan just pips it for me because Guly lost the ball a few times when we had the momentum. If Schneiderlin can carry this form into next year he'll be a key, key player for us!

I dunno, I bet Turkish could probably rustle up a few sorts quick as you like. He's a man of the people. As long as those people aren't Japanese.

Are you sure that's all because of 'foreigners'? Are you sure that youth unemployment isn't high because the ratio of graduates from school, college and universities compared to entry-level job creation is far too low? Is the shortage in housing not because we haven't been spending enough money on ensuring that existing properties are maintained well and also building more to meet demand in a rising population? The fact is that our population is growing regardless of immigration levels. We have one of the highest population growth rates (Births divided by Deaths per 1000) of first-world nations: (2011 CIA Factbook) Australia - 1.15% USA - 0.96% New Zealand - 0.88% Canada - 0.79% Spain - 0.57% UK - 0.56% Immigration may exacerbate the pre-existing problems of a bad infrastructure to deal with an increasing population, but it's definitely not the main exponent of these problems.

I had a draw down, so won nothing. However I think I may win a few bob on my next accy of Saints/Blackpool/Newcastle/Swansea/Charlton. Fiver on that gives back £150 odd.

That online system is f*cking useless. Thankfully one of my mates managed to get through and grab a few tickets before they all went.
-
I've been on since 7.40 and still nothing...help!
-
How are people buying them online? Are you putting in block numbers or just leaving it blank? Nothing i'm doing seems to be working...just get the 'No seats found please search again' type message.
-
Anyone managed to get the online sales working yet?
-
Likewise.

Leicester were absolutely sh!te. If they'd kept Wellens on the pitch then it may have been a different game, but I was really unimpressed by them tonight. West Ham did their job well tbf, and put a lot of pressure on. Lets just beat Cov on Saturday and wrap this whole thing up!

As far as i'm concerned, the Lib Dems can go f*ck themselves now. Sold their souls for a bit of power. I don't know who i'll be voting for in May, but it certainly won't be Lib Dem.
-
Fair enough, I have been put in my place. What do you think he'd do then, as you're obviously the closest thing we have to a professional footballer on this site.
-
But wasn't he quoted as saying that Liverpool were the only other team he'd want to play for other than us? Either way I think he'll stay. First-choice striker for us or rotation player somewhere else...especially considering he's got young kids too, he won't want to uproot.
