  1. I loaned AOC out to Luton in the first season and that helped him a lot, second season he was a first-team player for me in the NPC.
  2. Just read an article in The Pink about Saints' past transfer dealings in the January window. We've made some truly shocking signings! 2003 IN David Prutton - Notts Forest (£2.5m) Danny Higginbotham - Derby (£1.5m) Federico Arias - Velez (Loan) OUT Imants Bleidelis - Viborg (Free) Tahar El Khalej - Released Kleber Chala - Released 2004 IN Paul Smith - Brentford (£500k) Stephen Crainey - Celtic (£250k) OUT Chris Marsden - Busan (Free) Paul Jones - Wolves (£250k) Scott Bevan - Wycombe (Loan) 2005 IN Nigel Quashie - P*rtsmouth (£2.1m) Olivier Bernard - Newcastle (£400k) Jamie Redknapp - Tottenham (Free) Henri Camara - Wolves (Loan) Calum Davenport - West Ham (Loan) OUT James Beattie - Everton (£6m) Leandre Griffit - Leeds (Loan) Alan Blayney - Rushden (Loan) Yoann Folly - Notts Forest (Loan) Alaeddine Yahia - St Etienne (Loan) Andrew Surman - Walsall (Loan) 2006 IN Bartosz Bialkowski - Gornik Zabraze (£50k) Jim Brennan - Norwich (Free) Alexander Ostlund - Feyenoord (£400k) Darren Potter - Liverpool (Loan) Peter Madsen - Cologne (Loan) Grzegorz Rasiak - Tottenham (Loan) Jermaine Wright - Leeds (Loan) Richard Chaplow - West Brom (Loan) OUT Alan Blayney - Doncaster (£50k) Theo Walcott - Arsenal (c.£9m) Antti Niemi - Fulham (Free) Neil McCann - Hearts (Free) Dennis Wise - Coventry (Free) Brett Ormerod - Preston (Free) Tomasz Hajto - Derby (Free) Matthew Mills - Man City (£250k) Nigel Quashie - West Brom (£1.2m) Rory Delap - Sunderland (Free) Andrew McNeil - Hibernian (Free) Leon Best - Sheff Wed (Loan) Yoann Folly - Sheff Wed (Loan) 2007 IN Marek Saganowski - Troyes (Loan) OUT David Prutton - Notts Forest (Loan) Kyle Critchell - Chesterfield (Free) Kevin Miller - Torquay (Loan) Simon Gillett - Blackpool (Loan) 2008 IN Stephen O'Halloran - Aston Villa (Loan) OUT Grzegorz Rasiak - Bolton (Loan) Rudi Skacel - Hertha Berlin (Loan) Lucien Mettomo - Released 2009 IN Lee Molyneux - Everton (Free) Ryan Smith - Millwall (Free) Jan Paul Saeijs - Roda JC (Loan) Zoltan Liptak - Ujpest (Loan) OUT Nathan Dyer - Swansea (Loan) Joseph Mills - Sc*nthorpe (Loan) Jake Thomson - Bournemouth (Loan) 2010 IN Jose Fonte - Crystal Palace (£1.2m) Dan Seaborne - Exeter (c.£275k) Lee Barnard - Southend (c.£125k) Jason Puncheon - Plymouth (c.£200k) Jon Otsemobor - Norwich (Free) OUT Matt Paterson - Southend (P/Ex) 2011 IN Richard Chaplow - Preston (c.£50k) OUT Nobody so far...
  3. Packers, got to be.
  4. No student discount offered by the club as far as I know, I fall into the Young Adult category, so I pay £17 in advance (plus £3 fee) or £19 on the day for a league ticket. But probably the vast majority of spectators at SMS are in the Adult category anyway, hence the focus on Adult ticket prices in my post.
  5. Hate to say it, but I can't see the tickets being £15 for this one. When you have the world's biggest team playing Man Utd () you know people will buy tickets regardless of the price. I reckon we can expect between £20-£25 adult price for this game, potentially a few quid less if the game is moved to Sunday 30th as it will almost certainly then be televised and we could be at risk of losing a couple of thousand of plastics who were planning on going. Still, £20 is a lot to watch our arses get handed to us!
  6. I would have preferred a draw with which we could progress to the next round, but it'll be a cracking match regardless! Who knows, we might even sneak it
  7. Unlikely, but worth a try imo. You can swop Guly for Lambert, but Guly looked really impressive when he came on and Lambert might benefit from a rest so he's 100% for the weekend fixture. Hammond, i'm not so sure of. Morgan had a storming game yesterday and I would keep him in the team as long as he's playing how he is atm. I expect we'll see something like this on Saturday though: -----------------------DAVIS----------------------- RICHARDSON-----FONTE-----SEABORNE-----DICKSON PUNCHEON-----MORGAN-----CHAPLOW------LALLANA ---------------LAMBERT-----BARNARD-------------- Subs: Bart, Butterfield, Harding, Jaidi, Hammond, Chamberlain, Guly
  8. I think Sh!ttu at Millwall was only on a 3 month contract, meaning that he's available soon (20th Jan). He's played at Prem level for years and years, and would be quality in L1, solid in the NPC and good cover in the Prem.
  9. How are Stevenage's better than Huddersfield's?!
  10. The formation we played yesterday worked quite well, i'd prefer us to try a 4-3-3 formation such as: ------------------------DAVIS------------------------- RICHARDSON------FONTE------SEABORNE------DICKSON -----CHAMBERLAIN-----MORGAN-----PUNCHEON-------- ---------BARNARD-------GULY---------LALLANA-------- Subs: Bart, Butterfield, Harding, Jaidi, Chaplow, Gobern, Lambert
  11. Seems to me as if IH was a bit bitter, but that's understandable. If I had put out a side very similar to one that had done quite well against Villa in the Prem not long ago, and that side had got turned over by a chopped-and-changed League One side, I would be a bit bitter too. Not very professional on his behalf though, i'm sure there are a lot of Blackpool fans quite embarrassed by his post-match interview out there..
  12. Wigan at home.
  13. Excellent performance today, with 8 changes I was expecting a bit of a jarring, slow game, but the team gelled really well and passed the ball superbly. Blackpool were a decent side, most of those players have featured at some point during their Prem season, so it was good to win so convincingly. Glad we let The Mule go, he was awful today! Great to see Ormerod back as well, although I was disappointed not to hear the 'Posh Spice is a slapper...' echoing round the Northam! Also, Matt Phillips was quality for them today, gutted that we didn't get there first as Lallana/Chamberlain/Phillips/Puncheon would be a fantastic selection of wingers! Bialkowski 7 - Very solid, good in the air and made a quality save from Phillips which saved our skins a bit. Would still prefer to see Davis as our regular #1 but good to have the peace of mind of having Bart as back-up. Richardson 7 - Attacked well down the flanks, overlapped and put in some decent crosses (and some bad ones). Made some very good sliding challenges at the other end. Better than Butterfield imo. Harding 6 - Did okay but got caught out at times, looked good going forward though. Think i'd prefer to see Dickson at LB now, is Harding still out of contract at the end of the season? Seaborne 7 - Very solid, his passing was a lot better today although still not that great! I'm still in two minds about him, he can be very dependable but also very dodgy. Good performance today though. Martin 7 - Wasn't on the ball that much, but when he was needed he was there and did well. Shame he's not in the first team more because he looks very solid, but he's behind Fonte and Seaborne at the moment. Puncheon 8 - One of his better games, he's obviously in form at the moment. I'd like to keep him here if he sorts his attitude out, because at times he looks like he doesn't give a f*ck. Lallana 9 - Quality performance, the hallmark of a fantastic player. He'll be giving their full backs nightmares for a few months yet. So glad he's signed a lengthy contract, hope he'll be with us for years to come! Hammond 7 - Marshalled in the midfield, I hope his injury isn't serious, it'll give us problems having first-teamers injured now. Schneiderlin 8.5 - Excellent performance, solid defensively and made some very good passes. Think he proved a few doubters wrong today, i'd prefer him over Hammond alongside Chaplow in the team. Lambert 8 - Unlucky not to score when he hit the crossbar, but his link-up play was vital to how we attacked today. Back on form! Barnard 7 - Didn't look match fit, but still ran himself into the ground for the team as per usual. Took his goal well and i'm looking forward to seeing him back in the team. Honourable mentions to the subs as well, Guly took his goal very well, Dickson looked very dangerous and Chambo was unlucky not to score when he hit the post. Onwards and upwards!
  14. Not sure if this has been posted before, but apparently the management have been taking Fonte's advice about a few players currently playing in the Portugese leagues and we've had scouts at a few games out there recently. Haven't heard any names though. Freddy Adu still plays out there I believe?
  15. Excellent news, was very worried that he would be tempted by the bright lights but i'm looking forward to seeing Lallana turn Premiership defenders inside out tomorrow and for years to come afterwards!
  16. I have one of these, it's a good phone. Getting a big memory card would be a good idea, because if you overload the default memory too much on the phone it slows down a hell of a lot, to the point where it's unusable. Very good deal for £180!
  17. Yuck are fantastic, saw them at Reading last year and they were very good indeed. When the summer comes around and they have a few more songs available they will be bigger than Jessie J (who's been around for ages anyway, that 'Do It Like A Dude' song was in clubs in June/July).
  18. The words 'plasterer' and 'radio' come to mind.
  19. I quite liked Beyonce's last album actually, wasn't too bad!
  20. -------------------------BART------------------- RICHARDSON-----MARTIN-----FONTE-----DICKSON CHAMBERLAIN----GOBERN----CHAPLOW---LALLANA ----------------BARNARD----LAMBERT------------ Subs: Davis, Butterfield, Harding, Jaidi, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Guly
  21. Bet Dune likes him.
  22. One of my mates got GHII when it came out, and that summer I spent most of my time round at his playing it. Bought GHIII for the Wii, but not been tempted to buy any of the others. 'One' on GHIII was pretty tricky I seem to remember, always used to get 100% right up until the end solo, it was just impossible!
  23. *Dinlos Fleet is always sh!t, but it wasn't my decision to go there. A mate got us free tickets to the bar across the street from Jaxx and then Jaxx itself was offering free entry before 11.30. No brainer really, especially as i'm pretty brassic at the moment. Bagshot is quite far from where I live, but i've gone farther for a night out before. Will bear that in mind next time i'm at home and planning a night out.
  24. Considering we beat Dagenham 4-0 last time we played them and we weren't exactly firing on all cylinders then, we shouldn't have any problems on Monday.
