  1. Was it Bridge Too Far? You guys have been flirting with each other for years now
  2. I'll unfortunately be in an exam at that time, but if anyone's up for a meet on Thursday evening then i'm up for it.
  3. I thought you were banned?
  4. I saw the Charlton game at SMS too, and both sides were pretty poor that day tbf. Charlton started well but slipped away after Christmas and never looked the same team. A lucky resurgence in form got them back into the play-offs but after losing players like Sodje, Bailey, Shelvey and potentially Racon and not having any money to spend on new players, they will be a shadow of the side they were this year by next season.
  5. At the moment, Lallana is really our only recognised right midfielder, as Puncheon plays on the left. Lallana's a converted RM as well, so we need somebody who plays there naturally imo. But yes, RB is also a big problem. Brandy is not as good as Papa Waigo at the moment imo, but I think he can improve in the future. He's a similar kind of player to Waigo I suppose, just more of a striker than a wide man.
  6. The Green Mile I'm sure you've all seen it by now, but I noticed this was on Sky Anytime this morning and watched it as it's one of my favourite films. I don't make it a habit to cry at films, but that last scene with John Coffey gets me everytime! Such a great film, one of the best imo. To anyone that's not seen it, watch it on Sky Anytime if you have it, or if not then rent it/buy it, because it's a brilliant film and the 3 hours just fly past!
  7. I'm pretty sure Domenech would be sporting a fair few stud marks in his face by now!
  8. Chris Wood would be an excellent signing, he's a big lad and has a really bright future ahead of him. Can't see him being cheap though.
  9. He had a bit of a chequered past with international football, at one point he was even banned from international matches for a year after insulting the French manager on live TV! He was always involved in scuffles and fights when he played in France too, he racked up 5 or 6 club and international bans for his off-field conduct in the 8 years he played in France. At one famous disciplinary hearing, he was banned from football for a month after starting a fight at a training session while playing for Nimes, and when he heard the sentence he walked up to each member of the comittee and called them "idiot" right in their faces! He was banned for a further two months for that one... He actually retired from football altogether in 1991, but Michel Platini persuaded him to come back, he moved to Leeds and then Man Utd, and the rest is history! Great man, he gave the world my favourite ever quotation; "I have a lot of good moments, but the one I prefer is when I kicked the hooligan."
  10. Ahh, the nostalgia... absolutely beautifully arranged too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi99oDALtRU
  11. No way was that a booking, if the referee had seen it then he would've made the decision to play on. This is exactly why we need video referees...
  12. Lloyd Sam was a stand-out player in a poor Charlton team this year. With our RM problem at the moment, we could do a lot, lot worse than signing him on a free. Burgess was quite a vital part of the Blackpool team that went up to the Premiership this year, and he's been a star player at L1 level in the past. Brandy would be a gamble as he's been a bit hit-and-miss, but there's no doubting he's very quick and scares defenders, the kind of player that any squad needs.
  13. He gets a lot of unfair stick imo. He's not had a good season this year, but he is still a quality holding midfielder, and if he can recapture his past form then he'd be an asset to England.
  14. I don't think Cole's got the presence to be able to play behind a lone striker - England need someone with a bit of brawn like Lampard or Gerrard. Cole is a bit lightweight. Besides, he's much better on the left wing anyway, if he can provide decent service for Rooney then England will start winning.
  15. I was there at about 2pm and it was relatively quiet, maybe two dozen people in there. There were about 5 XL shirts left, I got one of the last few! Bunch of fat bastards we are
  16. George Weah Georgi Kinkladze
  17. I saw him on the bench shouting at the players and reacting after missed chances and thought the same. Whether he has the tactical nous to be able to mastermind a successful England side though is another matter. Perhaps he would be good as an Assistant Manager or Coach, because he's been around on the biggest stage for long enough to pick up the most important points of the game.
  18. Aaaaaaaaaaand in the red corner...
  19. He's come out and publically admitted that he would prefer to play as a lone striker with Gerrard behind him, and I don't blame him. Heskey is gash. If you're a target man you've got to be able to do these things; a) Win aerial challenges - Heskey hardly won any the other day, and in the ones he did win, the headers went to nobody b) Hold up the ball - He was forever falling over or getting knocked off the ball by Bougherra et al c) Be able to play a killer ball - His passing was woeful d) Be able to track back and support the midfield - 90% of the time Heskey was standing in an offside position. Capello needs to see sense and play Crouch in that role, he's 10x better than Heskey and actually scores goals.
  20. Domenech is such a sh1t coach, but the players should rally despite him not being the guy for the job and not act petulant. It's the World Cup ffs.
  21. "I was shouting boo-urns..." Best scene ever.
  22. Just gone down to the Megastore now to get one and I absolutely love it! Best shirt we've had in ages imo, and well worth the buy. Only issue is the static electricity generated by putting it on and taking it off again!
  23. Fair point, and he looks a bit like a black Elmer Fudd.
  24. What's wrong with Harewood!?
