  1. It looks like Biffy definitely are playing Spudgun, they released another picture clue today which was solved and revealed to say Park Stage, Saturday, 6.40 (when the special guest slot is). My advice - get there early if you want to see them! They'll get a big crowd. So excited about going now, unfortunately I have two 150 minute exams tomorrow, so i'm going after they're finished, my mate is going at 5am to set up the tent and then come back...brave soul! Have a great weekend everyone!
  2. Crouch is 5x the player of Heskey imo, odd that Capello can't see that. He holds up the ball much better, can actually play a killer ball and is a goal threat too. Also, he wins headers unlike Heskey!
  3. God, talk about skin of teeth. England looked good after they scored, but when they came out for the second half they looked distinctly average. Milner was good on the right, best player was probably Upson imo. Glad to see that Capello's got the balls to sub Rooney, although Wayne looked pretty surprised when he saw he was coming off after a pretty poor game. Only thing I would've changed with the subs would be to put on Crouch instead of Heskey, because if Slovenia had got a late equaliser England would've been completely f*cked because Heskey has absolutely 0% threat on any goal. Only thing, I expect England to struggle if they get Ghana in the next round.
  4. /\ A series of words, in fact.
  5. Yes, apart from the fact that Hamsik plays for Slovakia...
  6. 2-1 to Slovenia, you heard it here first. Ljubijankič to score first, Rooney to pull one back from the spot and then a late Upson own goal after another goalkeeping gaffe to seal doom for England.
  7. I don't know why, but I never really got into The Beatles. I like most of their songs, but I don't really see them in the same light that everyone else does. Completely recognise and respect the changes they brought to popular music, but just not really my cup of tea.
  8. Molyneux has gone to the dole office.
  9. Honduras have got a couple of good LBs, Figueroa as S_S said but also the guy who played against Chile (his name escapes me) who Wigan are also set to sign this summer. Shame we don't need one really!
  10. Well, South Korea mucked up my accy today - could've won £40 which would have been nice Glasto money! Ah well. The only bets i've still got going are Miroslav Klose for Golden Boot (11/1) and Germany (9/1), Brazil (9/2) or Italy (16/1) to win the WC. Only got a quid left in my William Hill account as well, so i'll have to spend that wisely. Any tips anyone?
  11. Beards of England UNITE!
  12. Goodbye Dog
  13. When I said that the debt repayments were what took us into admin I didn't mean it was just those, there were obviously other contributing factors. I'm sure that those repayments definitely took us to the brink though, letting Burley spend £7m and then not get us promoted (and then relegated a few seasons later) can't have helped either. £6000 over the overdraft limit is a lot to you and I, but to a football club I should imagine it's peanuts; equivalent to the wages of an average CCC squad player p/w.
  14. They're not really the ones with the power in the relationship though - mostly all of the policies and cuts coming into action now are Tory initiatives. It's a shame really, because the Lib Dems do have a slightly 'sixth form politics' ideaology, but they do also have a lot of very good ideas and plans which just aren't being shown the light of day and are being replaced by the Tory ones. I think the Lib Dems are probably realising now that a pact with Labour would have been a better idea as they'd pander slightly more to their needs than the Tories who don't really give a f*ck it seems.
  15. I've got the HTC HD2, and as it's a Windows phone it has hardly any apps... I glance enviously in all your general directions for having Android phones
  16. Yeah, there was talk of Holmes going to Brizzle, but I can't help but be slightly unconvinced by Lines. He's quite lethargic apparently, and what we really need is hard working, battling midfielders. Having said that, it's the whole David Batty vs Matt Le Tiss debate all over again! I won't write Lines off now, but I still think there are better options out there.
  17. I've only won one bet so far this WC
  18. Just a quick update on the Special Guest situation, there are some bands highly rumoured to be playing the three Special Guest slots at The Park stage on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday is heavily rumoured to be Thom Yorke's (of Radiohead) band Atoms For Peace, which contains Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as many other famous musicians who play Thom's solo stuff from his album 'The Eraser'. Saturday is almost nailed on to be Biffy Clyro after the band's official Facebook page released a cryptic clue earlier by spelling the word 'Glasto' using the Celtic alphabet. Sunday is rumoured to be The Strokes, as lead singer Julian Casablancas is playing later that day onsite and the band play two shows on the Friday and Saturday in mainland Europe, so it's feasible that he'd bring the band with him to Glasto! Either way, it's promising to be a brilliant weekend and i'm highly looking forward to it!
  19. I think Nope and Yep have the same effect in that instance, but you're right in saying that he was a left back. Not a great player, but did okay on a free on a 1 year contract! Think he was kept out of the team by a young Gareth Bale...
  20. So, Mexico and Uruguay through, interesting! I thought Mexico would go through but put France down for group winners, i'm sure many others did too. A team of world class players like Mexes, Evra, Anelka, Henry and Ribery should be competing for a spot in the final, not going out in the group stages...
  21. Nope, we had Jim Brennan (I think that was his name) at SMS for 6 months back in 2004. Right Back. Pretty crap.
  22. The debt on the stadium was what took us into administration in the first place, but when ML bought the club in August he paid off all of our debts, including the re-negotiated stadium debt repayments.
  23. Yes, that's true, but would you not agree that it would be better to have recognised right wingers in our team rather than converted midfielders? Puncheon is left footed too, so he's not as effective on the right side.
