  1. Mmmmmm.....Flapjack.
  2. It fills out the stadium with noise, quite often with international matches that i've seen there is no singing or cheering etc. People just sit there and watch. The vuvuzelas create a bit of noise in the stadium and liven things up a bit imo, and it would be unfair to ban them because they're forecasted to bring in £2m to the South African economy through sales.
  3. They were good considering only a few of the squad play professionally for teams outside of the country. They didn't show Brazil any respect, they were always chasing the ball down and stifling the Brazil players with more flair. It will be interesting to see how they cope against Ivory Coast who play a similar type of game, high tempo and short passing, but have a much bigger and stronger squad, with more creative players. I think they might manage to sneak 3 points against Portugal based on their performance today as well.
  4. Banner out FFS! (Nah, I quite like it actually. People don't like change though.)
  5. Well, I won £4.20 off that game, so i'm happy with that. If DPRK play like that against Portugal or Ivory Coast then they'll stand a good chance of 3 points imo...
  6. DPRK have been impressive so far, they've really stifled Brazil and not let them play by chasing down the ball and pressurising their playmakers. How long that will last for though is up in the air. They do seem a lot fitter than the Brazilians though, they've not stopped running so far whereas Brazil have been fairly static. Still, I can't look past Brazil for the win, reckon they'll snatch it 2-0 with a piledriver from Luis Fabiano and a late goal from a mazy run by Robinho.
  7. Bless the guy that's crying in the North Korea team! What a moment that must be though...
  8. 2-0 to Brazil. Luis Fabiano and Robinho.
  9. Made a few more bets today; BRAZIL VS NORTH KOREA Luis Fabiano to score anytime @ 12/1 (£1 Stake, £13 Return) Brazil to win 2-0 @ 4/1 (£1 Stake, £5 Return) Draw/Brazil @ 16/5 (£1 Stake, can't remember what it returns) Wednesday Accy; Honduras vs Chile - Draw Spain vs Switzerland - Spain South Africa vs Uruguay - Draw That returns £13.50 from £1. Then i've gone for a bit of an outside chance for Thursday; South Korea to beat Argentina (£1 Stake, £9 Return) Carlos Tevez + Ji-Sung Park to score anytime (£1 Stake, £17 Return)
  10. Crap game, although Ivory Coast looked okay. If Drogba can get back to 100% fitness, they'll be dangerous.
  11. Excellent signing, not sure why there's so much negativity on this thread though. Pardew will do what he wants to do, play who he wants to play, and sell who he wants to sell. It's up to us to trust in him and get behind the team. In my view, we'll have Dickson and Harding both competing for the LB slot on a rotational basis, maybe we'll even see Dickson play LM once in a while as he can play there too. The situation re: Mills though is an interesting one - will he leave in search of first team football or stay and play reserve football? I think the former is more likely...
  12. Bugger, that's my chance to win £376 down the drain
  13. Anyone see The Strokes?
  14. Fine on the HD2, but it doesn't run on Android like the Hero does.
  15. Just had a couple of quick ones: Top Goalscorer: Miroslav Klose - Germany @ 11/1 Stake : £2.00 Returns : £24.00 To Start In Goal vs Algeria: Joe Hart @ 8/1 Stake : £0.50 Returns : £4.50 Italy v Paraguay: Oscar Cardozo to score / Italy to win 3-1 @ 250/1 Stake : £1.50 Returns : £376.50 To Win The World Cup: Germany @ 9/1 (£2 Stake, £20.00 Return) Italy @ 16/1 (£2 Stake, £34.00 Return) Brazil @ 9/2 (£2 Stake, £11.00 Return)
  16. I'm not in favour of a stadium move personally. I don't think there's any point in leaving a stadium that we've only played in since 2001 and cost us a complete packet, leading us into administration in the process. There's the scope to extend to 54k at SMS, as has been said before in this thread, and I think that's the way forward. We'd certainly get bigger crowds if there was easier access to the stadium as well, and imo the way to do that is to build a platform on the train line. As somebody who generally travels on the train when I go to games, it can be a bit of a b1tch walking to the stadium through the city centre, especially when it's full of shoppers etc. which it quite often is at the weekends. A simple station/platform would mean that people could go straight to the stadium and if the industrial land around the stadium was developed as well then it would be the perfect opportunity for restaurants, bars, pubs etc to tempt in the fans. It's a win/win situation imo, and it would probably be cheaper than designing, developing, building and maintaining a brand new World Class stadium in Hedge End.

  18. Settle down children, both of your teams were gash!
  19. Argentina played okay, they were a lot better than they were in qualifying today. South Korea and Argentina would beat England atm.
  20. Brilliant.
  21. Ahh, I get you now!
  22. That's a prediction for USA to beat England 3-1...
  23. I said 2-1 USA didn't I?
  24. .....and realisation finally hits home for the deluded England fans! Compared to the likes of Italy, Spain, Brazil, Argentina etc, England haven't got enough quality in their squad to be able to be seen as serious contenders. When you look past the better players in the team (Rooney, A.Cole, Lampard, Gerrard), there is no backup, whereas teams like Argentina have quality spilling out of their ears. The likes of Cambiasso didn't even make the WC squad for them ffs! Based on that, England won't get past the 1/4 Finals.
  25. This is why Joe Hart should be first choice. Green is cack.
