Don't think the transfer rumours are wholly accurate - while there has obviously been interest in the players it seems that all these rumours are resurfacing at a very convenient time for the press to create some kind of false maelstrom about the situation. I'm definitely not as confident that we will keep our best players now, but hopefully we can get through this period and get a bit of stability. That starts with not selling any players we don't need to.

No. I'm saying that the loss of an influential and driven figure within the club might mean that one or two in-demand players might start to consider the offers that are coming their way from other clubs. Luke has stated several times that NC has been a big help to his development and would be gutted to see him go, and tweeted words to that effect today. Will he be more susceptible to the big money offers that'll be chucked at him from Top 4 clubs now? I think he'd give more thought to it now than he would have done previously.

+1. Nicola has been the driving force behind our recent success, and it's clear that KL isn't that into us. Would be best for all parties if the Liebherrs sold up and let others with more ambition and dedication take their place at the club.

I did say when he joined Everton that he would be a flash in the pan, watched him a few times in person when he played in Scotland and aside from being a decent finisher he lacks pace, strength and aerial ability, and doesn't hold the ball up. Martinez needs somebody who can replace Lukaku at the end of the season as the focal point of his attack, and Jelavic is not that person.
