And you are quite wrong with '1 win in 6'. In the League we have won 2 of the last 5 (and 2 of the last 6). While not great form, more than enough to get us over 40 points.

Day to forget for Saints - and 4 defeats in the last 6. Back to early season form: thank goodness for the purple patch. Huge changes needed to this squad in the summer and probably not realistic to have such a huge change which will mean another season of struggle next year.

Bednarek mistake again. He really is not a very good defender. No matter how the season ends, lots of changes needed to this team. Boufal awful today, Bednarek turning in a Vestegaard-esque performance. Hojberg very poor, Long poor Smallbone and Prowsey playing well but not many others

Terrible start from Saints. Sloppy in position, poor passing and bad defending (Bednarek). Signs not promising right now - not much confidence in Obafemi or Long getting in the goals.

You're kidding right. Obafemi was excellent when he came on today - he has the potential to be a cracking player and is only 19.

Great first half, understandably nervy second half. That game should have been put to bed a long time before it was - and that, unfortunately, sums Saints up. Wasteful, nervy at the back, etc. Thought Smallbone was excellent 1st half - top notch. Thought Bednarek and Bertrand were awful (thank god for Jack and JWP). A win is a win and we are pretty much safe now - 1 more win and a draw should be enough and with 11 games to go you'd hope we get 45+ points which would allow us to rebuild in the summer.

Having just seen the Spurs challenge which was clearly a red card and yet VAR deemed it OK, surely the time has come to bin this POS? The delays, the inconsistencies - while it was a great idea if implemented properly it has been an unmitigated disaster. The Le Celso challenge was far, far worse than Bertrands in the Leicester game (where he got the red card) yet it was not even a booking. When you compare 'video ref' reviews for rugby, cricket, AMerican football, etc, it is only VAR that is ridiculously bad (or at least the human operators of it). Waiting 3 minutes for a decision - wtf?

Unfortunately, no way a Prem player (at least for us). Apparently he has not had a shot on target since the Sheff Utd game on Sep 14!!!!!!! Even allowing for the fact he has become a bit part player that is absolutely shocking. That was 5 MONTHS ago.

This scoreline in absolutely no way reflects the game - it has been close and Saints have matched Liverpool except with their finishing. Excellent performance and they have not given up at any stage and continue to take the game to Liverpool.

Agreed Ron - but the problem is Carillo was (rightly) panned as a complete transfer failure and in fewer games has more assists than Adams (although both have a big fat goose egg in terms of goals).

Would have loved us to bite Leeds hand off to take Adams of our hands and we go for Augustin. Instead Leeds get Augustin and we are stuck with Adams

Are you crazy? He is one of the top midfielders in the league right now. Borne out by the stats and pundits. If he played for any other Prem team people on here would be gushing about him and he would be absolute miles out of our price range

Adams has started 10 games in all competitions and come on as a sub in 12 in all competitions. His stats are 0 goals and 2 assists (1 in the League). When he was starting our results were terrible (not all his fault as the tactics were poor). He will never be a Prem player - at least not for Saints. he is now 4th choice striker and looks extremely poor compared to the other 3 options (including a 19 year old rookie and a 33 year old Long).

He's now relegated to 4th choice striker, behind Long and Obafemi. Difficult to see him having any future here beyond the summer and honestly looks out of his depth right now as a Prem footballer.
