    Obafemi

Can't help thinking that Ralph's latest slagging off of Obafemi is terrible man management. He played really well against Arsenal and caused all sorts of problems yet Ralph now comes out and slams his professionalism. Way to build up a youngster Ralph! Keep this sort of stuff behind closed doors - I really think Ralph believes he is a lot smarter than he really is. Plenty of head scratching moments this season. SO does this mean the prolific Long will start ahead of Obafemi against Watford?
  2. What an utterly daft remark. If you had seen the game you would have more confidence. We were anything but s**t in the game yesterday and play like that we'll be fine. 2 for the forum whipping boys were excellent (JWP and Stephen). Would like to see more of Boufal and Djnepo together: they look so dangerous. And a shout out to 2 of the players that get a lot of love on here: PEH and Cedric. Both were utterly terrible and PEH is about 5 seconds of thought too slow for the Prem.
  3. Proud of that performance. Of course we should have won but that performance was light years ahead of anything we have seen this season. We can't miss chances like we did - Cedric is f***** terrible. That equalizer was on him. As ever he's too busy watching the player with the ball as opposed to his positioning and defending. Sooner he f*** off the better, preening little p****
  4. Crystal clear foul. Not sure what there is to be upset about with that decision
  5. Usual scapegoats getting grief (Stephens and JWP) but both have been good. IN Stephens case, very good. Very unSaints like that half - we actually looked dangerous (Still super dodgy at the back) and a team. Obafemi creating problems with his pace. Hojberg is absolutely dreadful and Redmond has reverted back to type unfortunately. Played very well and glad we're giving it a go as opposed to the ultra defensive lineups we have seen in recent times
  6. My god, Hojberg is stealing a living as a footballer. Absolutely dreadful player. Still he thumps his chest well and makes good soundbites.
  7. Terrible, terrible side - we are devoid of creativity, pace and any attacking threat whatsoever. Great decision to sell Targett - Armstrong RWB, Cedric LWB. LMAO - clueless, utterly clueless. Play all out attack - at least go down fighting rather than 6-7 at the back and then nothing up top. Seriously think we need Adkins back - put a smile on peoples faces again and play attacking football not this dire, dull rubbish
  8. 5 at the back against Everton at home. LMFAO - and even then we can;t defend for toffee. What an utter joke of a club we have become. Terrible ownership, terrible manager, terrible team and whole thing rotten from top to bottom.
  9. The manager has made some utterly head scratching decisions this season but I have to say that while he has not been good the problems at our club lie far, far deeper than the manager. 4 managers on the trot and the same issues - that speaks more to behind the scenes, continuity of coaches, etc. Most wanted Puel gone - how smart does that look in hindsight? So Ralph goes, another comes in and after 6 months the same conversations will be had. At some stage the spotlight needs to be shone on wtf is going on at the club behind the scenes. This group of players make me want to puke - PEH in particular is a pub league player masquerading as a Prem player with all the soundbites but nothing to back it up with.
  10. It does not take a rocket scientist to work out there is a massive, massive problem at our club and has been since Koeman left. What I find really hard to understand is how players that look absolutely terrible for us suddenly start to thrive in a different environment. Two examples this season are Forster and Elyounoussi. I'm not saying either are superstars and they are playing in a very week League but both appear to be different players appearing for Celtic than they were for Saints. And Targett, a player I really felt we should have kept and shipped out the miserable, way past his best Bertrand, at Villa is starting to thrive. Coincidence? Or symptomatic of a terrible coaching setup and toxic environment at Saints? All I know is that I have NEVER seen a Saints side capitulate like that in over 40 years of supporting Saints.
  11. AGree completely. While Puel was not everyones cup of tea he got the most out of a shocking bunch of players than anyone since. Ralph seems to have no idea - his decision making this season has been baffling to put it mildly. AT the time, I would rather have kept Targett over Bertrand. Bertrand has been diabolical this season (and last).
  12. Certainly wouldn't want him out - who else would take this job on? Bit like the Redskins and Dan Snyder - the head coach job is a poisoned chalice. Have said before it will take a good couple of years to recover from the 3 years of disastrous recruiting and decisions. Having said that, some of RH's decisions are baffling - very much so. He was a breath of fresh air last season, bringing in younger players who did not let him down and made a difference, at least short term. This season is almost a complete reversal of that approach and it's been, on the whole, utterly depressing.
  13. Armstrong is another that is utter, utter s***e but beloved because he runs round like a headless chicken with almost no talent. Beautiful skill and pass by Boufal and then Armstrong screws up
  14. PEH is utter s***e - why the love for him. he is terrible
  15. How about a bit of f******** urgency from this team? Walking football and mistakes always one pass away. Really starting to question RH now - head scratching tactics, players out of position and like a blunt knife in terms of the midfield getting forward.
  16. Probably just me but I have never seen why all the fuss and gushing about PEH. Quite often when watching he seems to give the ball away and set the opposition up for a counter attack. His passing is dreadful and puts us under pressure too much. Romeu seems to have fixed that and be back to his best. Not sure if PEH has reached his ceiling - an adequate, but not good and certainly not great, player. Certainly cannot see why any top teams would be seriously taking a look at him.
  17. Two very mercurial but really exciting talents. Making Saints fun to watch again - I could watch Boufal's skilful feet all day long and the way he glides past players. Thank goodness he was not sold in the summer - he is like a brand new signing. Well done to Ralph for reintegrating him into the team. With these two in the side I would sincerely hope we will finish top half of the table.
  18. Agreed - and that is a shocking indictment of our continuing abysmal transfer strategy.

    Che Adams

Looking like another duff buy - plenty of time to come good but at the moment looks like a Championship player with very poor vision and control. Our front line looks even weaker than last season with Ings and Adams. Shocking
  20. We are not a good side but a valuable 3 points to get the season up and running. Romeu and Hojberg (in particular) were garbage.....gave the centre of midfield away to Brighton even with 10 men. Danso was excellent (played out of position) and JWP was excellent at RB. CBs a liability (as always) but I would have had Boufal and Djanepo on from HT.....they changed the game. Adams was abysmal, real shocker. If we come out of our shell and attack more we have a real threat in BOufal and Djanepo. Way too slow in our play most of the time.
  21. Difficult to tell who has 10 men here. THis is dreadful - disjointed, strangers and with no idea how to attack or defend. Bit of a headscratcher (again) from Ralph. This performance is too similar to those under HUghes and MoPe.
  22. We are terrible - like a team of strangers. Defending is not a strong point - to put it mildly. But then neither is our forward play. Real challenge on our hands this season.
  23. We really have an awful team - another season of struggle ahead. ****e defence, ****e attack, ****e midfield. Ralph's tactics all wrong again and the subs were real head scratchers. Drop the bloody 3 at the back and go all out attack. We can't defend for toffee so why even bother?
  24. Great strike by N'Lundulu - I wish Ings had this (or indeed anything) in his locker. I sometimes think that the first team would have more guts and staying power with more of the U23s in it. Notice no Carillo, Hoedt or Lemina included in the U23 squad so hopefully all are on their way out.
  25. I know he is the forum whipping boy, but that was not on him. Terrible pass back
