  1. I read someone on here earlier predicted 2-1 win, with Hammond and Lambert to score! Someone could be in the money!
  2. Yeah, that's what we normally go for. Not sure the missus will sign off for me to spend £23 to sit in the rain. If it was a tenner (or even a tanner :-) ) and a fiver for the lad, then I could slip it by her. No worries, I'll sit by the radio.
  3. I hope this doesn't come across as a bit 'poor-me' or inferring I want a cheap deal .... but I'm out of work currently on the old JSA. Looking at the website, i don't think there's a concession price, and I would have to stump up the full adult price. I don't think I can afford to go, especially as if i go, the lad comes too - a penny bun costs tuppence, and all that. Let me know if there is a concession offered for job-seekers ... at this stage I think there isn't. And I'm sure Mr Luker has better things to worry about than this.
  4. Stu IS a child, so he doesn't have the maturity yet to know what you say is wise.
  5. Not in the slightest concerned. He's under contract, doing a good job, appreciated by the directors, players and fans.
  6. I have a mate who was Wimbledon FC through and through, being a Wimbledon lad. When they were de-frocked and emerged as MK Dons, he immediately supported the embryonic AFC Wimbledon. He still travels up from Winchester to Wimbledon for their home games and any away games in the south. He hates MK Dons with a passion and hopes we stuff them royally.
  7. That was on my mind, too. I thought his concept of an outfield captain (to argue the case not to send off Thomas :-) ) was a good one, but see no update to KD as skipper yet. Like most, I would appoint Deano Hammond. I like to see midfielders skippering sides.
  8. Are you listening the commentary on saints player? Do you have button checked for Oldham commentary? Just a thought ... Change it to Southampton, and you'll hear some Geordie getting excited when Kel Davis makes a save ... comments about Lallana and Lambert playing well today ... and we must tighten up at the back .. :-)
  9. so .. been away from the keyboard, but I see things are going quite well then? Are we bossing it? Or pretty even, just that we have scored two?
  10. They're on a run of goalless draws, and I can see them extending that. Prediction : 0-0 Hoping for : an away win of any score.
  11. A moment of lucidity from our friend here. Regardless of his vital statistics, I'd welcome him back to the first team squad as soon as he is ready.
  12. Yeah, I have. Based on the first 8 games of the season I couldn't see us escaping the clutches of relegation. A few games later, I can, and would now predict mid-table finish.
  13. As an accountant, I'd be the first to say you can use numbers to support or deny anything. I'd rather we just support the team and hope we collect as many points from now til xmas. Only then will i start exponential theory to predict where we may finish the season. If you want to get your calculator out at 12:07 in the morning, then do so, but its not for me.
  14. That just about sums up the possible outcomes. Like he said ..
  15. Don't often hear that said about George Burley!
  16. There's too much excitement on here. I'm going to have to go back to the desktop and yawn in front of the England U21 game.

  18. a timeshare arrangement with Pompey?
  19. So things are going quite well then?
  20. Thank you Weston. That is the definitive post and should close this debate.
  21. It's all very well saying that, and of course he's right, 40 players is too large a squad, but in reality you just can't "move players on". They will see out their contracts unless someone comes in with a better offer.
  22. Yeah, completely agree. That's why I never phone in but do listen to laugh at the daft opinions expressed. And indeed, H&J are the best act on there but sadly on (afternoons) when most of us are at work ... although I do play them back when I'm able to listen.
  23. Hmm, this thread seems to have gone off into an appraisal of KD. I haven't seen the last few games so can't really comment. I was impressed we scored all 5 pens last night - what was the chance of that i thought (at first) but read up later that AP and the coaches had practiced pens and planned where the pens would go to beat Scott Bevan. Good preparation led to a good result. So, to answer the original question, yes I'm now confident that we have 5 reliable penalty takers. And with KD's record of saving some, we will always stand a good chance at penalty competitions, although I'd sooner we won the game in 90 mins!
