  1. Then I'm on board. It seemed to work for the Leeds fella, at least until he confessed to having people tree-climbing.
  2. Queueing up to pay for my petrol at said station, only to find half of those in front of me came in to buy a chocolate bar, packet of crisps, a lottery ticket, a packet of fags, or some other item that they SHOULD have purchased from a supermarket. Hurry up, I need to get to work/get home.
  3. Has he? He is an assistant Coach, not Assistant Manager. Surely the hierarch is (1) Manager, (2) Asst Manager, (3) Coach, and (4) Asst Coach. Salaries will reflect that.
  4. How many coaches and assistant coaches does that make? I tried to read the article but I have to complete a survey about robots before reading. Are they all going to find a seat in the dugout on match days?
  5. Option to buy .... according to BBC Gossip page.
  6. Lonnie Donerghan in goal .... shoot on sight?
  7. Yeah, even with the naked eye and watching on my 32 inch Samsung, I could see Adrian was off his goal line BEFORE the ball was kicked. How VAR didn't spot that ... oh dear. And don't get me started on the earlier Abraham dive that VAR adjudged to be a penalty. And I am a VAR supporter! Bad night for VAR!!
  8. Yeah, I'm 59 too. Kindly drop the Old from your username.
  9. ----------------McCarthy--------Gunn---------------------- -------Bednarek-----Forster -----Yoshida---Dancer------ Valery------------Romeu------Hojbjerg------Bertrand ------------------Long----------------
  10. Fair enough. Our defenders need to go safety first, clear the ball away when under pressure, rather than trying to pass their way out. Only had Solent commentary to form a judgement, and their analysis came down to two factors - poor team selection (Stephens and Vest, especially) and lack of tactics - lots of passing in front of the Burnley defence but no cutting edge. Both of those - team selection and tactics - are the responsibility of the manager. We got too complacent after winning every pre-season game. Ralph has to get it right this week.
  11. Heck, I hope you're right. Those are the three Saints I have in my fantasy team this week. Get in!
  12. You say Lemina, I say Zaha. Now watch him sulk. Hopefully Lemina will apply himself if he doesn't get the move he wants.
  13. In the words of Jim White - "and the window SLAMS shut" .....
  14. Hope Charlie is blindfolded too, or else he might hit on her and she fail his medical after she complains about his conduct!
  15. I would have been as excited as you, but we have a Spurs fan in the office that tells me his knees have gone. He says he's probably available on a free if we were so minded. If we could get a loan fee waived and get Spurs to chip in on wages ....
  16. Unless the video ref says "it's tight, come and have a look yourself" or the pitch ref says "let me see, I'll come up and have a look at it myself". This could be a 5 minute job.
  17. I thought this thread was about a bloke from Charlton?
  18. He won't play 30 games, either because he isn't fit to, or because Wolves don't want to complete the deal and so stall him on 29 games. As noted above, we need to factor in risk and increase the loan fee.
  19. OR : got a 1-0 defeat to a 92nd minute Jay Rodriguez winner written all over it
  20. Not had mine yet. Not too worried for another 10 days. But if not here by 15th, it gets to squeaky bum time.
  21. I was both in my seat watching and with Solent commentary, and he wasn't the only one that lost it. Only game I have lost my voice and couldn't speak for 24 hours! The missus wants me to go regularly now.
  22. Surely, something is better than nothing? Unless there's a charge to go in it(?), if it adds nothing to the experience, then we just leave it and go to our seats, nothing lost.
  23. Hmm, the year will become evident from the story...... Final day of the season and I wanted to be at home listening to the game on Solent (tickets were sold out long since).... The family insisted I went with them to the Weald and Downland Museum near Chichester .... Then I realised I could use these new things called "ear plugs" and listen to the Radio Solent commentary on the game and STILL be with the family. Must win game and when Marion Pahars put in that second goal to keep us up, I totally, completely and utterly, 'lost it', dancing for joy round the Open Air Museum, tears in my eyes, shouting "yes, Marion, you beauty, get in" and similar expressions of passion and commitment. Opened my eyes to find not only my aged parents, but my wife and a lot of other museum goers looked at me with complete horror .... but I didn't care. Probably not the ideal conduct in a PO postcode, but so what. Thank you Radio Solent !!!
