That's a shame. We needed aerial power to combat Rondon. Maybe put Bednarek on him?
-
Any chance we can go Dutch? Tell Ajax they can name their price. Now I see why Tadic wanted to go back to join a team on the up.

€15M is nothing these days. You'd have to spend more than that for a League One player. If they can't afford him, then we'll take him back. I don't think Celta were ever going to buy him for that, so they shouldn't have indicated they might. Maybe they didn't though, and we just hoped they would.

In my predictor, I have this down as a defeat. But Saints keep exceeding my expectation lately, so even a point will be a good result. But Newcastle are playing well now, so this will be a tough game.

Josh Sims - Loaned to NYRB: Official

Working in Basingstoke, I get feedback from the Reading fans. He got games early in the season, but as soon as their season went pear shaped, the manager wanted to play defensive so he was either omitted or told to just keep possession in games. We all know he is an attacking runner and passer, so Reading's style was all wrong for his game. The Reading fans follow his games with us and wish they still had him. -
Similar. On the 'final 10 games planner' I had us down for wins against Bournemouth and Hudds, a draw against Wolves, so another 7 points, and that will get us to the 40 mark. Cardiff won't get near that.

Just came up as an alert on my phone. My initial reaction is like Danbert above - "ok, what does this mean?"
-
Hell, YES ... but he'll have other suitors.

Are Saints owned by the Chinese government?

Can they force Graziano Pelle to re-join us? If so, count me in. -
If so, that's a real shame. Hope we can close the deal in the summer.

Best league in world but probably worst officials - Warnock

Also has no eyebrows. I think it's a facelift and the skin is scrunched round to the back of his head. -
It was described as 4-2-2-2 on my phone app before the game, but MoTD had it as 4-2-3-1. Who knows what formation was intended.

The Universe has decided Cardiff are to be relegated. You can't argue with cosmic forces. -
Giroud has made it clear he wants to be first choice, not an impact sub, next season. I dare say his wage expectations would exceed our budget, sadly. Hopefully we can find a cheaper option somewhere in the world. At the minute our only out and out strikers are the broken Ings and Austin.

Yeah, but that's not his fault, though. He is fit and available to play, just the manager doesn't select him. We can't offer zero hours contracts!

Agree with your comments. Unbelievable arrogance and denial of the facts. They milked the mourning process with "Always a Bluebird" ... "Forever in our hearts." Now try to deny he was ever theirs. When do the football authorities get involved - UEFA? FIFA? Cardiff should have paid immediately, and by their comments - as noted above - they are representing they can't claim on the insurance. Should be a points deduction or wounding up order. When the plane went down, I felt sorry for Cardiff. Now I hate them with a passion.

I am hoping they win the league at least, to wipe that smile off Smug Pep's face. If we get any extra cash as a result, even better ....but even if we get nowt, go on Liverpool!!!!
-
Ah good, you have raised the question the Liverpool fan in the office has just asked me. He wants to know if there are such clauses in the sale contracts of VVD, Mane, Lovren, Lallana? Genuine question, anyone know?

Boy, did we screw up over Tadic...
the saint in winchester replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
First of all, yes, he was stunning last night and by all accounts has been playing at that level for Ajax. He simply lost motivation in his final 18 months with us. We sold Pelle (not that we could turn down £12M) and we couldn't match the Chinese club's offer on wages. Others were sold. It's our modus operandi. Style of play became defensive and unexciting. But we did raise an eyebrow at letting him go for £10M but we had agreed to sell him and he wanted Ajax, so we had a tough hand. Great to see him doing so well. (sigh) -
I see Che Adams to Southampton stands at #8 in charts of Transfer Whispers with Sky Sports. Not a dead deal yet then. Could be resurrected in the summer.

They would both be in my team. Yoshi MoM vs Fulham, Bertie MoM vs Utd.

The January Window - what will it cost us?
the saint in winchester replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Saints
Yeah, seems we wanted to take him on LOAN only, though. And the other two (Newcastle and Arsenal) have Spanish managers, so they were speaking the same language. I was hoping RH would attract some of his old boys, maybe he will for next season. -
Agree. I was trying to talk to the bloke in front of me about the game, but we couldn't hear each other. How about we bring back the relay with the kids, but get the police dog to chase after them as well. That would make the kids run faster, get that segment over quicker. Then we can have the brass band playing in the middle while the Saintettes parade around the red asphalt? Something for everyone then. And turn off the music, or play something related to football.
