Palace 0-2 Saints. Wild celebration reaction thread.
the saint in winchester replied to Shroppie's topic in The Saints
This is right. If we had held on and beaten Wolves, we would have 34 points, level with Man U. Crazy league. 3 months ago, we were certs for relegation. -
Yoshi is a speed king. Give him this game then.
-
He was great for us. Glad he had got his chance in the EPL finally. Would love to see him back, but as it would only be as a squad player, he wouldn't want to take up the option, I'm sure.
-
"Southampton know that this month represents their best opportunity to get money for the 28-year-old, so are not willing to sanction a loan deal." Surely we would be able to get a fee at the next couple of windows as well? No need to cash in just yet.
-
I would extend for a year. However, he want a longer contract from elsewhere.
-
Would it change anyone's view if we had a deal to get Jarrod Bowen with the Adams sale money? Swap one for another? Purely hypothetical, as no such deal has been arranged. Just a 'what if' question.
-
I would suspect it's all about this. He would have come to us believing he was in the first choice team. Indeed, he played all the pre-season matches. However, it's Ings and Long as first choice now, and Adams off the bench as sub. Will he become first choice alongside Ings as the season progresses? Time will tell. Will Long be offered a new contract for next season? Again, time will tell. If Adams has now said he will stay and fight for his place, then that suggests to me he has been promised the starting spot either this season or next.

January Transfer Window - 2020 Edition

I am going to pressing F5 now - LeG knows things. -
Agree. These two ARE better as impact subs. When they come on with 30 mins to go, the opposition are tired, the crowd is lifted, and we look invigorated.

Meanwhile, back on transfer window .... I see some clubs looking at Glenn Murray. He would be a good loan option for us to cover if Ingsy gets an injury or needs a break. -
FA Cup Third Round Draw - Huddersfield (H)
the saint in winchester replied to whelk's topic in The Saints
Hope not. I would like to see him be a feature of our season. -
I would only consider it if we get Nketiah from Arsenal as a result of the trading. Leeds have ignored Nketiah so Arsenal want to bring him back. If they are looking to re-loan him, then Nketiah to Saints before Adams to Leeds. I'd also want us to be able to buy Nketiah for like £7M at the end of the season. And with Leeds ignoring Nketiah, do we really want Che sat on their bench?

I was expecting Mourinho to be charged by the FA today? Still am. Surely he can't make a comment like that without punishment.

We let the oppo teams populate half the Northam, yet don't want much of a presence at away games? Does seem an odd approach.

Should have been a knighthood, but at least he was recognised.

Reaction: Saints 1-1 Palace
the saint in winchester replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Yes, but I'm claiming the assist for us all in Itchen South. Until then, we had been content to let them bring it out. We were getting on their back about the relaxed approach, and this time we pressed them. Their defence was pressed into the error, and yes, well done Danny, like a greyhound first to the ball. But an assist for us in the Itchen South!! -

Mine too. My captain - nil point! (fr) If Brendan can give me call to let me know if he's playing on Wednesday, I would appreciate it. -
I don't think Gavin & Stacey is played out for laugh a minute. It's gentle comedic observance of real life including its trials and tribulations. It's basically real life. We laugh, we cry, we get bored, we get excited. Remember the final scenes of Blackadder, Friends etc - they were poignant and tear jerking, but they were still great comedies.

January Transfer Window - 2020 Edition

Ralph said as much in his chat after the game with the presenter and her mates yesterday. He has those two positions top of the list for January. -
He means the home game vs Spurs on NYD. Park in Croydon if you want, but it's a hell of a commute to SMS.
-
Agree with all you say...except that last line. If we can get a win here as well, I think we can relax for a while. Indeed, hopefully they will come at us, and we can hit them on the break, like we play away from home. We have pace in our side for quick breaks. Really looking forward to SMS on Saturday now. Haven't felt that way in a while.

Chelsea 0-2 Saints - FT - Merry Christmas!

MoTM? Has to be McCarthy, surely. Without his saves, it would have been a different scoreline. Looked a top quality keeper yesterday. -

the saint in winchester replied to Suhari's topic in The Saints
It's one of our/the greatest team goals ever. Kante just beat Armstrong to the pass he was going to make anyway. Great goal. May not see it on GOTM as it was 45 seconds in the making, and they prefer worldie shots, but it is our greatest goal this season to date. -
If you're coming up from Poole, then you want west side. Would probably recommend Ocean Village, junction 3 off the M27. Multi storey car park. Grab a beer in the retail area, then a 15 minute walk to the stadium. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g186299-d215573-Reviews-Ocean_Village-Southampton_Hampshire_England.html
