I hope so, ecuk, and I work in one of 'pointless' sectors above. I see my daughter going into work in NHS GP for under £9 an hour, and I sit at a laptop for £35 an hour. It's not right.

Yes, that is what it's going to take. Huge government spend on benefits now will need to be funded over time. And then additional spend for the services you mention....it's going to require a tax rise.

LOL, I got it. Not sure others saw the reference.

What if There is no Transfer Window This Year?
the saint in winchester replied to SFC Forever's topic in The Saints
I hope Adrian is just being combative. This season should be completed in whatever manner is agreed and to whatever timescale is agreed. NEXT season is the one that should be adjusted. Maybe just play each time once. Top 9 teams play all games away, bottom 9 teams play their games at home. Admittedly, that wouldn't benefit Saints based on this season's results, but that is my suggestion. Transfer window - nothing happens until the final day anyway, like an ebay auction, so not an issue if contracted. -
The owners of the ExCeL centre in east London are charging the NHS millions of pounds in rent to use it as a temporary hospital for coronavirus patients. The ExCeL, owned by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec), is charging the health service £2m-£3m a month, according to industry sources. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/coronavirus-abu-dhabi-charges-nhs-millions-in-rent-for-super-hospital-in-excel-london-5zdlpbxhs

Publish the zoom link to your meeting, or meeting no and passcode, and we'll ALL join you. -
I would do that, yes. But I'm one who believes we should have every season like that. It would help for international tournaments too where June would be mid-season, rather than after a long domestic season. Better for fans too to watch in shorts rather than woollies and raincoats. If we can get the players to take their holidays Nov to Jan, then it's a win all round.

That's the spirit. Always look on the bright side of life.

A rollover season? I'd need to think through the implications, but on first hearing it sounds like a good suggestion.

The fella from Dell looking at investing in Derby County. Surely we would be a better investment? -
Are we sure it's the real MLT and not a fake poster? I don't Twitter, so can't establish.

Was that in Copenhagen? Sounds like first item heavily discounted, the second standard Copenhagen prices!

Oh my days, that's horrendous. Chilling.

Yeah, we really are trying to get back in the doo-doo aren't we? We looked well clear of it and hoping for a late surge for a European spot. Now we are - what is it - only 7 points above relegation slots. Squeaky bum time. (there should be an emoji for that)

The small things in life that annoy you

Yes, very true. The yellow line is there for a reason. I tend to go to the furthest point where no-one else is, on the grounds the bag must be mine if no-one has claimed it. Trouble is my case is somewhat generic and a dozen hands have picked it up and put it back by then. -
Please NO. We have ppl at the train station offering masks and hand sanitiser already.
-
Thanks. Are you going to do the whole Tommy Cooper act now?

I can see why he was tempted then, if you put it that way. -
Do we know if Pepsi and Shirlie are still backing singers with them?

Angus Gunn doesn't seem to be totally in favour with Ralph. Do you think Ralph may want to retain Forster and have him compete with Macca? I guess we'll make a decision at the end of the season, whether to retain or look for offers on FF. Lots of talk that FF will take a wage drop, but no talk about what Celtic will give to us to make it happen.
-
Ah, I just got that message as well. Never had it before.
-
That figure suggests Celtic are paying nothing toward his wages, and we are paying the lot, the whole £70k/wk. Is that the case? I don't believe we would have done that deal. We're a compassionate employer having funded his sick leave, but I can't imagine we would still be paying the full wage while he is at Celtic. Pure hypothesis - maybe Celtic pay £20k, we pay £50k? The "whatever we can get" needs to be a significant clawback on our costs in the last 2 years.

I thought Jaidi has been discredited ie pushed out for incompetence in preparing the youngsters to be ready for first team. If so, seems odd we would send him off to Jaidi again. A bit like sending a track athlete to Salazar.
