Burnley 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction

Disappointed that it took them to score for us to wake up. Pleased with a point though. -
Can see the club making the travel a stupid price if this is true.
-
Didn't he have a private medical at Arsenal last season? Or were those words from the people who supposedly attended the fan dinner with Cortese false? If the private medical is true then it shows little respect to the players, the management, the chairman and the fans at this club, he'd deserve all the abuse he gets if he played against us in the next few years or so.
-
Has the construction work even started at Staplewood yet?
-
I love this team.
-
A complete shadow of the player that used to tear us a new one while at Watford.
-
They give the whole end to every club who wants it. I wouldn't be surprised if we only have half of it.
-
Hope our away support don't sit down and stay quiet at Fratton. That would be quite embarrassing.
-
Personally think he's started the season well. Him and Radhi were a good partnership last season, especially at St. Mary's. It'll be interesting to see if Adkins prefer's Jaidi to Seaborne, Martin and Hooiveld.

Good win from Saints. We had periods where we looked great on the ball, but also had moments where we looked very poor. Nottingham Forest put us under a fair bit of pressure in the 2nd half and on another day probably would have scored from one of their attacks. Felt they had a decent peno shout turned down, one of their players was dragged to the floor by our player at the back post, thankfully it wasn't given. The last 10 or so minutes (especially the injury time) were a joy to watch. I have no idea where he got the 5 minutes from but I was certain it would be heart in mouth stuff. The lads kept the ball well and Forest hardly got a sniff. Davis - Did a decent save at the beginning of the 2nd half, claimed some crosses but had a few dodgy moments. 6/10 Cork - Much better at CM but still had an alright game. 6/10 Fonte - Done well in the air against Miller, also put a couple of good challenges in when it mattered. 7/10 Hooivlet - Good debut imo, was looking to pass it out of the defence which is promising. 7/10 Fox - Bit hit and miss this game, think he will be a good signing once he settles in. Positioning was questioned a bit today. 6/10 Guly - Good ball that created the chance for Connolly which set up the opening goal but a part from a few nice touches he didn't do much. He isn't a right midfielder, at times it seemed like he forgot he was player there! 6/10 Hammond - Battled well, had better games but looked much better when Chaplow came on. 7/10 Schneiderlin - I forgot he was on the pitch until his shot, he didn't do much. 5/10 Lallana - Will probably be disappointed he didn't score today, he started the game well but seemed to disappear mid-way through the game. 6/10 Connolly - Did well but missed a good chance just after there 2nd which I expected him to do better with. 7/10 Lambert - Fantastic touch, control and passing today which were capped off by three goals. Delighted for Lambert. 10/10. Chaplow - Done well for the time he was on the pitch, kept the ball and battled. 7/10 De Ridder - Didn't see too much of the ball at his feet but won the freekick that set up the 3rd. I would like to see him start ahead of Guly next week. 7/10.

If we were still at the Dell, where would be in the leagues?
Saints foreva replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
I just wish we went for something a little more unique as there are far too many types of grounds that look similar to SMS: Very boring. -

We would have probably been a lower Championship side, struggling to bring in new players due to the facilities and moaning about how we need a new stadium to compete. Sometimes I wish Saints had gone for a more unique Stadium as St. Mary's is very boring. There are about 12 similar Stadiums in England, but I guess one thing is that we can create a decent atmosphere when required. Grounds like Coventry etc are mostly silent through-out the season. -
Beattie can expect some stick as Pompey fans are on there this weekend!
-
Premier League clubs cannot sign him. Seems like Puncheon had a loan move to Leeds fall through too. SG tells me Jason Puncheon had agreed to join #LUFC and had 2 other deals done at lunch then Leihaj got injured in res game,v open interview
-
Got the feeling he will end up at Pompey. That would be tough to take but for the first season since he has left us, I'd be disappointed if he came back.

Jason Euell.

saints player on android phones help needed please
Saints foreva replied to johnnyboy's topic in The Saints
At the bottom of the page there should be an option saying "go to desktop site", you should be able to get on SaintsPlayer afterwards. -
Isn't he Coventry's penalty taker? If so, It would be interesting to see how many of his goals for Coventry have came from the spot. According to wiki he's only scored 11 goals for Coventry, say 4-6 of those were from the spot then he has a very poor record for goals.

I was surprised by the news, but not disappointed. Pardew built a good side here but I always felt we underperformed in our first season in League One. We really should have been in the promotion picture a bit more considering the amount of cash we spent. Leeds managed it with minus 15 points and zero transfer budget two seasons earlier. Will always be grateful for the JPT win. It was fantastic to see Saints play and win at Wembley.

It won't be long until Fox is the first choice Left Back imo, going by what I've seen so far he seems very quick so will take some beating when it comes to pace. Also think you're being unfair on Frazer, he wasn't great Yesterday but had it not been for him we would have drawn the Millwall and Barnsley games (clearances off the line), he also put in a good performance against one of the best wingers in the League (Gradel). Unsure how he did at Ipswich.
-
I thought he was banned from St. Mary's after ****ing on the seats in the Carling Cup fixture 2003?
-
He didn't do much wrong, lucky to stay on the pitch with two tackles both worthy of yellow cards. Still would like to see a quality cb and a fast forward before the deadline.

On my way home, just some points: Awful first half performance, defenders seemed all over the place. 3rd Leicester goal shouldn't have counted, Bamba was all over Lambert. Much better performance in the second half. Lallana best player on the pitch, really should have scored in the final minutes, decided to take a extra touch though. Probably the worse performance I've seen from Lambert. I wish Connolly was 5 years younger.
