  1. So, Mike, was she a boiler? Don't think we've cleared that one up yet. In my house I rent in Lancashire, I was forever re-pressurisng the boiler, which involved adopting an awkward position and messing about with a screwdriver (Nurse!!). Thankfully, the tenants haven't moaned about this yet, but probably will now that winter is coming up. It's entirely likely I'll be in the identical position (though Oz is a bit further than Cambridge), so would anyone like to throw their name in the ring for Good Samaritanship in Ramsbottom?
  2. Thought it was quite dull (geddit?!?!)

  5. Thatcher said - "If you don't own a car by the time you are 25 then you are a failure". Seven years or so later (aged 25), I didn't have a car, a wife or a house. I said, "MY GOD! WHAT HAVE I BECOME!" Then realised that she was full of 5hit and I was ok.
  6. From an overseas point of view, everything seems the same. I like this forum, it's the only one I regularly look at. I don't know any details about the 'velvet revolution' that took place, but I think all of the ex-mods and admins were very intelligent and erudite people, as are Baj and stevegrant. Maybe that's the problem? One thing I do remember is that when I first looked at the equivalent of 'The Muppet Show' (was it called Banter?), I found it terribly subversive and exciting. Now, either my expectations of forums have changed, or it is has become less so. In any case, good work to those who want to showcase this club, personally I'm effkin depressed about the mediocre aspirations we now have (x points to playoffs to championship etc, we beat Tranmere, woohoo! Darlington are our peers.
  7. Great thread

  9. I thought this was an all gay forum?!?
  10. How come you can spell Chamonix and not appreciate? ;-)
  11. Get a local train to Freshford, talk a walk (may be a bit damp), have a meal at the pub (that used to be there 20 years ago, probably still is). Romantically hail the train for your return journey, as there isn't (wasn't) really a station. It's probably all motorways now, but I remember a lovely meadow-y, wood-y walk rond thaaaaaaat waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy.
  12. Always worth a re-run...
  13. Go Door! Hope it was varnished or using other suitable protection.
  14. Watch out, some of these jokes are quite funny!
  15. You are correct. Val Thorens in France? Outdoor furniture? Sanitary products? DJ Equipment? St Landrew and DSM seem very intelligent and compassionate. May be slightly dull due to excess of knowledge and experience. Thanks guys!
  16. She's got everything I want.
  17. Is Emma worth getting hold of?! Just letting you all know I'm following the Brissy Saints in the 5 minutes internet access I have! Not quite sure from the above posts when the next meet up might be, could someone clarify? I enjoyed the Sydney game and would like to see another. My lad's PCYC soccer team had Roar reps handing out stuff at the end of season presentations - I think the Roar have a good community programme, I like the way they do things here!
  18. What do you call a dinosaur wrapped in brown paper. Russell The original joke is too crap for the crap joke suppository.
  19. Good meeting everyone, but got I've got all the usernames mixed up with real world names! Here's to the Brisbane chapter of Saints.
  20. Nice work Knightsbridge (sic). All I can say is that I want to be there, having delicate negotiations with Mission Control - COYR!
  21. How old was he? 16? - maybe understandable. 25? - out of order.
  22. Ah, I realise that, as usual, I am one step behind - well done upsidedownsaint. I know there's a bunch of Saints fans in Perth who could do the same sort of thing with the Perth team. I also know, that I'm so desperate to watch any kind of football that is above pub level, I'll be a Roar fan for life (if I get to the game).
  23. Thanks for your text 'Knightsbridge', the spirit is willing, but mission control is exerting severe demands on this potential night out. Is it pay on the door then? The web site says 38 bucks - do you know if that's what we'd pay? Is there any risk of not getting in? (I'm speaking from the perspective of trying to get in to the Dell in the 1980's). Unfortunately, I don't have the stripes, but have a tasteful polo shirt with the badge! I'd really like to be able to talk about the impact of Markus - I wonder if it's worth contacting any local press so the Liebherr family get an idea of the global spread of Saints?
  24. Go Roar - I'll try and make it, 'Knightsbridge'. I think the aussie saints must be a classy lot!
  25. If it wasn't a bloke, had most of its teeth, no social diseases and was less than 90 years old. I'm thinking bloke however - those rear-knees look a bit sturdy.
