  1. I also saw this and laughed very loud. Oh Portsmouth, Aren't most of their high earners on long contracts though?
  2. Why is it that almost all threads on here have to be ruined by alpine or this CB Fry fella? Seriously, just wtf is your problem guys?
  3. Wotton is certainly a player we should keep hold of. He's not a bad player, and to those saying he's "awful" well that just beggars belief. In the last few seasons we've always needed a player like him in the middle, but the trouble for him is that we bought a player in Hammond who can do a better job and is younger so it's always going to be hard for him to get into the starting 11. I don't think Wotton should be starting ahead of Hammond or Morgan, no way, but he's done a job 9 times out of 10 when he's been asked this season which of course some people love to forget about because we all love to have a player to slate, it seems.
  4. This is one step too far from Pardew. First he doesn't win the league, then he had the cheek to have light coloured hair, then he took off Barnard, and now THIS?? Cortese? Get rid.
  5. Absolutely, but I'm pretty sure this thread is a wind up. It must be.
  6. Jason Dodd against Portsmouth for me. No but seriously, that Channon goal is magical.
  7. Looking forward to the game, managed to get off work so if we don't win I'll demand APs head on a plate.
  8. Lol if true. Bournemouth are a funny little club, and one which I actually look out for a hope they do well like others on here. It's a shame they're so bitter about us for no good reason. I still wish them well though.
  9. i can remember the day we extended his loan deal in january. there was a saints twitter post saying there'd be some transfer news, and when i saw it was antonio's loan extension i was a little underwhelmed. i needn't have been. turns out it was a great little signing. really hope he stays
  10. Don't agree at all that Pardew has done the bare minimum expected. If we were to get our 10 points back and win our game in hand we'd be only 4 points off automatic promotion. That's a fantastic achievement considering our summer and the start we had. Can't believe Pardew gets any stick what so ever to be honest - apart from when he plays long ball too often, I can understand the frustration then but other than that he deserves nothing but praise for the season we've had.
  11. Don't listen to this man Golden Balls.
  12. 1-0 Antonio No threat upfront?
  13. There's no way Hammond will be dropped IMO. He's been one of our buys of the season - he's perfect for this league. We'll be lucky to hold onto Morgan for another year though.
  14. Ok, then we're making different points. Because I tend to agree that we will just miss out, but the point I was making was that I hope the players and staff don't have the same attitude - and they shouldn't.
  15. If it was clear that the players and the manager had given up on the playoffs despite it being possible, you'd be livid wouldn't you?
  16. I think you're wholeheartedly mistaken if you don't think that this happens all the time... everywhere. It's like saying an MP will change his/her allegiance every so often depending on what a particular party does each week. No. A Conservative will 99.9% of the time remain a Conservative all his/her life no matter what the party does, and the same goes for the voters. I'm not saying that this is what I do, but it happens.
  17. Unfortunately, you're probably just about right. However, that cannot be the mindset of the players or of AP. Can you imagine the backlash from the supporters if it was evident that we'd just given up on reaching the play offs? The usual suspects would have a field day with negativity towards Pardew - "we should never have given up", "we still could have made it FFS" etc etc. Therefore whilst it's still mathematically possible, we should go out there believing we can still do it. I think we'll win 2-1 tomorrow and it'll be a close game. Can't make it down myself but hoping for an entertaining encounter.
  18. I'm not surprised at all that they haven't sold out. It's only the media which believes they have wonderful support.
  19. Yep, totally agree. Just another sign that Pardew is losing the dressing room.
  20. Another one here who thinks that 21k in League 1 is a wonderful attendance. A good few Premier League clubs don't get those figures.
  21. Italy would be a great shout. Wonderful country (well, most of it). Ireland another good suggestion. Can't believe I still haven't been there yet, ffs.
  22. I just called the Teacosy and they're showing the game on TV. Meet you guys there at 7?
  23. Getting rid of NP was a huge error on RL's part. He'll be a top manager.
  24. Decent enough point. I wouldn't have been so harsh as to say that he can be so dreadful but I agree at times his rawness causes us problems, but he's going to be a very handy player for us if we can get him permanently. And actually I'd consider giving him a start against Brighton, especially considering how poorly Puncheon has been playing recently.
