I agree, a good decision by the club and by Maya. He's gotten better this season when I've seen him too, and he's only 26, he's yet to hit his prime as a centre back yet.

The old bloke looks drunk, the black guy is overly positive and the young kid needs to be taught that not all facial hair looks good. I'd cringe if Saints did something like that, but I'm sure one day it will happen.

This, though I'd add a decent second choice keeper. Either young, eager and good or early-mid 30s and happy to fight for a spot. I appreciate all Kelvin has done for us but him and Gazzaniga as back up to Forster fills me with dread in case he gets injured or suspended. With Elia already signed, all other positions are sorted.

The Saints support sounded pretty good on Sky from what I could hear.

Worst player - They're all Saints players, they deserve our support. But yeah Mayuka has done very little. Worst Signing - Taider. He was signed, he qualifies. Best goal - Pellé against QPR. Wow. He works very hard, he's a decent player to have as a back up centre back, especially when you think it wasn't so long ago we were dealing with the likes of Jos and Martin. Actually our centre back compliment of Fonte, Alderweireld, Yoshida and Gardos is probably the strongest it's been in years.

Fonte MOTM for me. He made a number of interceptions and was impressive at the back. At one point Hazard got away from 3 of our players near the byline but there was Fonte with the vital interception. Besides that, the whole defence played well, as did Wanyama and Mané. Pellé held the ball up well but didn't play too well I thought, and assist aside Tadić was poor.

First time we haven't lost to a 'top team' this season. And limited Chelsea to one shot in the first half and none in the second. That is a good performance. Shame Tadic and Pelle are off form. More attacking potency needed in January, I hope Elia is decent for us.

A very good point. Happy with that. Shame to lose Morgan but it was a tackle that needed to be made. Points a point.
