  1. Driving down M3 was bloody tricky, stopped in Winchester services for a coffee, came out and it had stopped.
  2. So you're saying your Mars Bar is safe? I concur. Top quality striker but will require a big pay cheque.
  3. ANother reason why a surprise promotion this season is paramount. Keeping our talented youngsters would be easier to do in the Prem.
  4. Double swoop for Maynard and Adomah, with Puncheon going the other way. When this is proved true, I want you all to buy me a Mars Bar.
  5. Bart muffing up the winning run against Blackpool - I've only managed to get to three games this season, and I was unfortunate enough to witness that. And in the same game, Lambert heading the equaliser in injury time to send me into perhaps the biggest celebration I've ever done at SMS.
  6. Giving up on signing Jack Cork after a MASSIVE delay but being overjoyed when it was finally announced.
  7. OR...... We sign nobody and get promoted as Champions with what we have! (ALthough I'm not sure that a: My heart could cope with this scenario or b: My heart could cope with the reaction on here on February 1st at not signing anyone!)
  8. Apparently Blackburn want Sordell too. We'll have to get used to either trying to fight for these players with others, and hope our package and set up is more attractive, or go off piste and look for players that aren't in mainstream English football. West Ham are desperate for promotion. (As are Leicester but they need to pull out something special). I wouldn't put it past them spending more money than most Premiership clubs this January. Let's just hope whatever we do we don't get toooooooooo frivolous with the money and potentially end up back in a situation akin to the one we were in 3 years ago, and that we conduct ourselves in a manner that other clubs respect.
  9. My missus got two Norwich ducks. She's 27 and loves them. (Mental age of about 13 I reckon.) Her mum said it was to counteract all the Saints stuff I have in our house - there's not a lot of Norwich stuff in here! (So far I've been lucky.)
  10. With Hooiveld signing permanently, we definitely have the centre backs we need in place for this season. Fonte and Jos are going from strength to strength, and with Martin as a back up, and not forgetting Seaborne when he's fit and even Harlee Dean (who's been getting rave reports on loan), we're quite strong in this department. If we go up? Yes, sign a new CB in the summer, but I'm very pleased with what we have. It aLso seems that Jos and Jose like playing with each other too, which is inmportant.
  11. I love a good poo when it's massive and you really have to force it out, makes you feel like you earned it. Sometimes I sit on the loo expecting to crap one out, and let out a massive fart. Being cheated by my own bowels. I once put my finger through the bog paper when wiping and got poo on it. I'm never buying own brand again.
  12. Some nostalgic links there.
  13. The smell of the grass on the pitch at SMS after the last game of last season. Forever more, that is what promotion will smell like to me. Being top of the league, having just been promoted, for most of the season. For breaking more records than Robert Wadlow.
  14. Good news. Everyone's on the bus, but we have three empty seats.
  15. I got one of those fecking dancing animal things from my mother wuth moving parts and it sings a song. Ok as a novelty present and one off, but my mum seems to get me them every fecking year. I also got a hat with built in headphones that can be plugged into an iPod. Sounds great, but it looks ridiculous, the headphones are too high for the ears, and I don't even have an iPod. Juggling Balls. The same golf set that I got last year. I don't play golf, and even if I did, I'd use last years set. ,...and yes, all these presents came from my mother. Seems her senility is creeping in.
  16. We're aiming for the Premiership, with potentially the chance to get there next season. If that happens, I'm afraid sentimentality doesn't come into it - quite simply it's out with the old and in with the new. Forte will be swiftly forgotten, but his name will always have it's place in Saints history - for the two goals that we believe played a big part in us getting promoted from League One.
  17. Wasn't able to follow the game today but been reading a few tinternet reports and it sounds like we were impressive. Good stuff, I hope it doesn't paper over the cracks of needing new players in January, but I see Adkins did say he was looking to strengthen. On to the Bristol game which I will be at. Yay.
  18. Whenever they start to go crusty and hard. Usually once twice-monthly, but it's the missus's job, and she bloody well knows it.
  19. Hung Over more like. (From being a **** head the night before.)
  20. As far as I'm aware, the Central and Jubilee lines also run automatic trains, there's a decoder button on the platforms for station staff to stop trains if a person decides to jump in front of one (happens a lot more than people think), but at the moment the train operators are still sat in the cabins in case of an emergency. So, in effect, those guys are being paid to sit there and do sod all. Nice job if you can get it. (Which I could've, recently they opened up train operator promotion, but it's not what I want to do.)
  21. Oh cripes, yes driving I meant! I guess all alcohol consumption is "drinking under the influence!"
  22. I was arrested for drink driving back in 2002. I'd been out with a mate, had a few drinks, and driven home. I hadn't intended to drink quite as much, I usually had a couple when driving but no more, but as the night went on I just had that one more. I got home ok too - it was when my mate rang me up begging for a lift that I should've said no, but instead I got back in the car and picked him up and drove him home. Just as I left his house, the police car stopped me. I had a breaklight out but they could smell booze. I did the roadside breath test and failed it, so they parked my car up, arrested me, and took me to Maidenhead nick. I was very lucky that night - when they did the actual breath test, where you need to get 35mg, I failed and got 40mg. When I did the second breath test (as you get two), I passed with a rating of 39mgs, which apparently is the leaway they give you to pass. I was very stupid, I've never drunk under the influence since and I never will again, but I did get very lucky that night.
  23. It's 53! :-)
  24. This strike is by ASLEF, which around half of train operators are with, and it's totally uncalled for. We've never been paid extra for Boxing Day, nor do we get bank holidays off, unless it falls on a rest day of course, and it all smacks of greed. The media are incorrect about them earning £52k, it's more like £45k but it's still a decent enough chunk without having to bring about this action. They won't get it - if they do, the other unions will follow suit. We get Christmas Day off though, and I'm happy with that. I'll be at work tomorrow, and I'm opening Heathrow Terminal 4 at 7am on Boxing Day, and it doesn't bother me at all. (Except for not being able to drink on Christmas Day, but hey ho.) Train operating is a boring, monotonous job, where any mistakes will basically leave you sacked. It's not hard to do though, they earn their money from what they know, not what they do. It's not for me, I'm happier on the stations. I doubt this strike will have as much of an effect on London as an RMT strike would - I'd reckon most services will be running but with larger gaps between trains.
